Thank you very much for an informative and very nice film. It sounds a little silly, but I feel like "Vigeland Park Guard". When I see someone post a movie about the park, I have to watch. When people in their films "censor" the statues and put gray over the "decoration", and shout over themselves whether nudity and the park should have a child ban, or that the park must be a favorite place for pedophiles. I get angry and I comment in a sarcastic and rude way. Another group are those who only see reptiles and dragons, and the park is cold (even in the middle of summer), and in the comments section it abounds with conspiracy theories and the world ruled by reptiles and secret societies. I post comments there too, even though I know I'm not getting through. Now I stigmatize a little, but there are Americans and no one else, who only see evil or can not bear to see nipple and male "decoration". They have such a Victorian attitude to the body, or maybe it's a shock to Americans to see, real human bodies the way God created man, without implants here and there and silicone tits. I am just asking.🤣🤣 I was especially happy that you filmed the child first year circle, there are few who go down and film there. Thank you very much ... again.
It is very interesting for me too because I originate from tanzania and I want used to seeing such statues, but came to realize that this Norwegian comunity is teaching the whole generation that there is nothing new about our bodies and we shouldnt be shy about it. I remember when I first saw my folk's pictures of the park, I loved it. I love sculpture. I have pictures of the sculptures around my computer screen. Then I found a postcard of the Monolith and a letter from Hotel Continental dated 7/4/54 from my Grandmother Pearl. I was born in 1959. Pearl's love of the park is taped to the back of my computer screen. I have a picture of my mom pushing Pearl in a wheelchair across the bridge and leading to the Monolith in the mid-90s. A couple of months ago, I researched Vigeland Park and Vigeland himself. A neighbor who was a pilot stationed in Germany talked about how the parks in the Scandinavian countries are the best. That made me realize there are probably videos of the park. Thank you for giving me such a complete tour. I am an American. I apologize for the craziness of my country. I remember staying with a family near Copenhagen during the 1976 Olympics when I was 16. It was embarrassing then, to be an American. Now, every day, it is getting to be even more so. A British writer friend of mine said my writing would be accepted so much more readily across the pond. Thank you again for the gift you have given me today!
