      Cafe Racer Garage I just kept saying to myself “be the dan, be the dan.....” credit where credit is due. You literally taught me how to do this! 🍻

      Hell yeah! Came out awesome. It fits that tank opening perfectly. I too have been inspired by Dan. I’m at the same point now. Next step is gluing and shaping the foam.
      Never used fiberglass before but it was much easier than I feared. Had so much fun that I decided to make two seat pans. One with a rear cowl (also inspired by Dan). And one completely flat so I could fit the girlfriend if she wants to go for a ride.

    Those foam pieces are intended to isolate the battery from any vibration from the bike. The vibration will shorten the life of the battery.

    Definitely interested in a "what to look for and what to walk away from" type video. I'm currently looking for my first project bike and it's getting harder and harder to listen to my gut when it tells me that dirt cheap bike on craigslist is probably way more trouble than it's worth.

    Did this with mine recently. Im now on 2.0 version though 😅 if you make another seat pan, wax the cling film first as it makes it come off super clean 👌 keep up the good work man

      @Beachmangarage  5 лет назад

      I saw yours 👍 you did mention that.... Yes, a bit of wax would've helped😳. Moving forward will definitely use some. Cheers!

    [6:01] What liquid is that you use to make the fibreglass freeze? I want to try this

    I’m looking at getting those same all black shocks for my own build. How do they look and feel in person?
    Well done on the seat pan!

      Charles Burg I think they’re awesome. Look great and tons of adjustment. I did get the longer ones so if you want to stay stock-ish go for the slightly shorter ones

    What fiberglass kit did you use? I know homedepot and autoparts stores sell it, but perhaps there is a better or cheaper option online?

    • @Beachmangarage
      @Beachmangarage  5 лет назад

      Travis Johnson I bought the resin and fiberglass separately. But yes, at my local flaps.

      I am looking at a ‘75 CB360 in multiple boxes! The initial investment is low but I am hesitant. Come with title and they say it’s all there. Thoughts?
      I’m loving this series. Thank you for it!

    Does that 4cell battery work okay with electric start? I have one on my kickstart only cl450 and it's good but wasn't sure about using the starter...

    • @Beachmangarage
      @Beachmangarage  4 года назад

      jfergmma really depends on the bike and the cca it needs to pull. I’ve had a 4 cell on a shadow 1100 and it started easily. Viragos on the other hand need a ton of amps.

    Is the blue round piece for LED's...relay? If so where did you get it? I'm trying to upgrade my '74 cb360 to LED's. Thnx

    • @Beachmangarage
      @Beachmangarage  5 лет назад +1

      david barranco yes, it’s an electronic flasher relay. Works on 6v, leds, regular bulbs etc. Has the annoying side effect of beeping when on (much like what you hear on e-scooters) but a small piece of black tape can tone it down, unless you need the reminder.... got em on eBay, couple of bucks if I remember.

    • @dtaylo4517
      @dtaylo4517 5 лет назад +1

      I have the exact same relay on the GS, was of ebay too, wasnt aware that there where suitable for LED too :)

    can i ask the ingredients for making fiber glass seat?

    • @Beachmangarage
      @Beachmangarage  5 лет назад

      You can buy a kit. it's basically sheets of fibreglass that you cut to size, and a resin and hardener, that when you combine will slowly start to cure and harden. really pretty straight forward!

    I would LOVE to hear your opinions on what not to buy. I'm currently looking for a project bike, sadly in my country there's slim pickings, and most of what you find for cheap is either 3rd of the parts missing bike (hence my specific interest in that topic) or just real shit bikes (Chinese copies or Czechoslovakian "communist" crap 2 stroke bikes).
