As a biracial woman, I think people in general need to stop using the word.None black people use the word among themselves when referring to black of color.I have heard conversations that you may never be exposed to and I correct them every time.Bp using to the word doesn't give rac-ist whyte people a pass. The racist were using to word long before it became a slang word.Wrong is still wrong .Stop blaming bp just because you think it sounds good to do so.Fortunately , most people regardless of race are good by nature.

I don't think anyone should call anybody names. However, I have always wondered why it is okay for black people to call each other the "N" word. It seems to be okay with them. It's only offensive when a white person says it.

I adopted black and mixed race children. When the “N” word made it into my home I wasn’t happy. Sat all the kids down and told them that that word was not allowed in our home and I had better not ever hear it come out of their mouths. My kids are now in their 20’s and 30’s and to this day they have never spoken that word in my presence. I honestly hate that word.

I am a 52 year old, southern man. I grew up with my parents speaking the N-word all the time. As a consequence, I used it in casual conversation up until I went to college. At that point, I realized how awful that word is. When I hear it, it’s like nails on a chalkboard. There is no reason to ever, ever use that word. I regret having ever used it, but I’m glad that I have been enlightened to that words hurtful nature to many people.

    • @intelligenceissexy3733
      @intelligenceissexy3733 11 месяцев назад +2

Give us a break. It's just a word. It's no different than calling a white person a honky or a cracker. It's no big deal, because it's just a word. Yes, it's a derogatory term, but so are so many other words used in the English language. In the south, people don't think twice about calling someone a redneck or a dumb hillbilly. But again, they are just words.
Just like the children's nursery rhyme goes... "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."
I just wish people would grow a damn backbone. If you're that butthurt over a word, then there's something seriously wrong with you. There are so many more important things to get upset about in this world.
"Politically correct" is a term used for whiny, overly-sensitive pansies who need everything sugar-coated for them.

Thank you for sharing this unfortunate experience. I'm a Black Canadian woman living in one of the largest cities in Canada. This year, I have been called a n*gger twice and called a fucking ape once. Each time this happened, I told my boyfriend (who is white), and his response was of anger, sorrow, and disbelief that some people can still be so ignorant. For me, as appalling as it is, I just remind myself that as far as our society has come, in regards to civil rights, there will always be those who choose to remain ignorant, and choose to not comprehend why it is wrong to use derogatory terms against another race. For me, it's just logical to not be hurtful to other people, and that's it. Anyway, Lamont, I'm glad that you completely cut that dude off because he is just not worth your energy. Keep up the great work!! ✌🏾

Always stay positive emotionally on the inside, not just out, when dealing with people who are opponents of any love in the world. You can't reason with them. The racist wanted to make you feel angry/sad/confused and control your emotions to dark thoughts, it's their sick game. They feel in control so let them know with your mind and emotions you're onto their con. Their power is gone and have no joy in life. Love you man.

In my journey through life and having friends of all races, when I was younger I had black friends that called me n with the “a” and it was cool because it was a sign of acceptance to me. I also called them the same, but kept it in our group. I had a pass with those dudes. I was a typical kid into hip hop and all other forms of music. I knew I couldn’t take it to any place else. I look back now and think it was a little cringe but at the same time, I didn’t say it to them around other white people but neither did they. When around a diverse group, we all dropped the street talk and spoke proper and didn’t want to give anyone else the idea that my friends were cool with any ol body saying it. As I grew older, I didn’t say it anymore at all because I learned I didn’t have to have it to gain or give respect. All we had to do was be ourselves. I was lucky to have black friends and get some of that culture at a young age. You get the knowledge of exactly WHY you don’t say that shit, or take on someone else accent or manner of speaking. Plus I still get invited to the cookout. As always, good content Lamont, I feel like this was a vent and you needed it, I’ve got some buddies that would have handled it way differently, and I’ve seen it first hand. You’re also way too cool for not exposing the name of dude. I feel like you should at least do that so others don’t unknowingly keep following him.

This makes me so sad and sick especially since I live in Michigan and my daughter has been called a Sand N for years by many ignorant racist scumbags. It sends me flying into a rage because I just remember seeing the look of hurt and shock on her face and I just honestly wish these idiots could understand how badly these words hurt people and enrage their loved ones. My daughter’s father is Lebanese and evidently some ignorant racists have hate for anyone who don’t look like them and it got really bad for my daughter after 911 and I’m really afraid that it’s going to get bad again because of everything going on now.

I wish I could meet up with you Lamont. You're a kind soul. You're extremely genuine & caring. Watching you do the things/habits you do makes me smile as I also often do what you do from time to time; filling up bird feeders, feeding/talking to animals etc, & talking to the deceased persons grave respectfully as if they're there or you knew them. I used to go & visit my Mum's grave every weekend as a kid & would spend time walking around the cemetery, taking in the peace & nature & reading graves, picking up litter & tidying up the graves the birds & squirrels had messed up picking the flowers out from the headstones & leaving them strewn across the graves or grass. I've moved now, so can't really visit her grave no more, but I still like to walk around graveyards, especially old ones & countryside, nature reserves/beauty spots in the UK. I ALWAYS pick up litter as I go along.
Thank you so much for your clips. You're one of the best on RUclips. We ❤ you Lamont.

I'm so sorry that happened to you! That was awful of him to say something so offensive. Some people just don't seem to have a filter, common sense or just any decency. It shouldn't surprise me anymore but it still does.
Please know that not all of us are like him. I'm sure you do, but just saying. I couldn't imagine saying something so offensive to someone I don't know anything about, but especially someone I respect for what they do, or who they are. Glad that you didn't stoop to his level and insult him or rage out. But yeah, I would write off someone that nasty as well.
I started following you in 2021 shortly after my dad passed away. That's when I started watching RUclips videos of cemetery walk throughs. I don't really know why, but I felt some kind of comfort in the stories I heard. And keeping the person's memory alive in many ways keeps that person alive! My mom started watching the same kinds of videos and channels around the same time. I guess there is something to them! The first video of yours that I saw was the one at the dollhouse grave and your respect and kindness toward that little girl's story and her family definitely impressed me and I've been following you since.
I don't do any RUclips videos cause I know I could never be able to deal with nasty people on here. But I hope to one day be able to say hi to you in person whether at a Michigan cemetery or if I finally go to Crimecon which I really want to do (though not sure about the next one cause dang, the cost is crazy!) But either way, thank you for what you do and I hope you continue doing videos for a long time! Take care and stay safe out there!

Lamont, you handled this with class. The sad thing is that jokers like this can and will get under your skin. No class whatsoever. That in turn without doubt makes you reluctant about meeting anyone. This is a sad thing because there are some normal, decent, humans still out there just hard to find for sure. The worst thing truly is if you have to miss out on meeting a truly genuine person, good conversation, nice dinner out, someone that will be there for you.

Sorry this happened to you Lamont. Here's the flip-side of it. I wonder how he would how felt if you had used a derogatory word about his ethnicity?, seriously?? People really have the nerve when they think they know somebody, yet they don't. It was insensitive and it was a gotcha moment Lamont. A man or woman will eventually say what's really on their mind in the heat of the moment. It's called let their true colors come out by making them angry. Nah, that's why I don't open myself up to people much because you gotta feel people out before opening up to them, especially strangers you know nothing about. People are very unpredictable. As someone over 50 , I definitely know this on a first hand experience .

I am sorry that you went through that. I personally don't like to offend people. I wish I could have a talk with someone who is down to earth without the heavy duty put downs. Sure, I have friends who may show a rough outward appearance, will tell you to your face the reality of it is, I am genuinely a listener and I can put my 2 cents in, but ignore the put down as much as possible. You sound human to me and easy-going. If I make fun of you, it is in jest only, yet sometimes it can be a dry humor. I won't intentionally put someone down but if you make me mad enough (which takes a lot to do) I can really hang it heavy. You sound like you make a great friend to anyone who deserves it.
