    I have worked in DP WORLD in Engineering Service Department as a Mechanical Engineer. If you love working in a Challenging environment this is the place.
    It was a great experience and learning.

      i work with robotics - largely they have but theres some last step work like this that hasn't been replaced yet.

    Do they get free neck and back treatment in this job? Looking down all day must cause a strain on the neck.

      It does tear up our neck and back. I don't operate one like this but it's still the same concept. it's a gantry overhead crane and the cab is 40' in the air and travels with the load. Always looking down

      with the money they make they can afford neck and back treatment. these operators make couple hundred thousand USD. cheers!

      What is the salary of RTG operator in Dp world....? And also QC (STS) oparator....?

      The operators do not reveal the salary amount, but there are rumors that the salary for these two functions varies between R$5,500 and R$6,000 in Brazilian currency, it is considered a great and high salary here in Brazil, in dollars it would be between $1,146 .47 and $1,250.70

    Did you have to do a crane course for it ? I’ve a slinger/banksman.
    Trying get time to a tower crane ?

      Yup down here at the docks in los angeles it takes about 15 years on the job to get to crane driver and get training for it OR the jobs are passed down to the kids..

      @@user-pc7ef5sb6x lmao maybe in London the guy is 100 correct that's a union job you got to pay your dues first before your in a sts crane 15 years was different before but shit changes o let's not forget the 10+ year wait as a casual member then you become union so it's more like 25 years until u can get in one

    What does one have to study or get certified in to do big machinery work like this? I'm a U.S. Veteran and I loved working with machinery while i was in.

      Find a crane school near you where you can get classes, and do your testing. I just finished mine yesterday at crane tech in Florida.

    Operators must have a lot of neck and shoulder complaints leading to chronic disorders at the long term. Head is hanging down in an unnatural position during the whole shift. Adequate frontal head support would help to alleviate such complaints and avoid neck pain.

      Don't try to get in here on the west coast USA. The dock workers union is so strong, positions go mostly to relatives. A worker can even leave their seniority to family in their will. Same union for entire coast, relentless strikes got so bad one foreign company built their own shipping port.
