I honestly don't think a Polygraph test would be the best of ideas, but not totally redundant for a couple of reasons. Putting out a request from the most well known UFO 'whistleblowers' could well sort the 'wheat from the chaff' of those that know full well they are lying and likely refuse the offer. However polygraphs are 'junk science' with an extremely poor success rate and easily 'fooled' by those that are fully convinced what they are saying is true. This could well then be used to suggest that a successful pass on the polygraph would is some form of 'Proof' of UFO crashes and alien life on this planet without anything tangible produced sadly. If you took a 'UFO fan-boy' and had them take a polygraph test I expect the majority could pass it, so convinced they are of what they have been led to believe sadly.
