I saw this posted for free near by where I live so I decided to contact the poster to pick up in 30 mins. The owner said it was leaking gas and wouldn’t start, but had been a great mower
What I did
- power wash it and then later wash by hand with a brush and degreaser
- clean and rebuild carb, new seat (398188 or 281144)
- change blade to a used one I had that wasn’t bent, I wished I had a better one
blade is part 532421825
- changed front wheels to some used craftsman wheels I had in better shape (off camera)
- change oil HD30 (off camera)
My phone ran out of memory so I had to cut short and change the video quality for it to fit. I will be uploading a second video of final look when it sells
Sold with in 1 hour after posting and I got in a Trade-in non working Murray lawnmower as part of the deal.

It’s pretty easy, I don’t have the correct removal or install tool. I made do with what I have . It does make it a little more difficult. I try to keep it with common things ppl would have . That was a season it seemed like every mower needed a new seat. Now I rarely have to do this. The plastic Briggs carbs don’t use a seat like this.
