So if you disagree with something here, chances are I do as well
Just found your channel, hope to see more from you! I'm thinking about making film videos soon, so it's cool to see someone new. Here are my Kubrick rankings (I did a binge of his work back in May) 13. Fear and Desire 12. Killer's Kiss 11. Spartacus 10. Lolita 9. The Killing 8. Dr. Strangelove (I need to re-watch this the most, but everything from here on out is great) 7. Eyes Wide Shut 6. Barry Lyndon 5. 2001: A Space Odyssey 4. Full Metal Jacket 3. The Shining 2. Paths of Glory (my #8 overall) 1. A Clockwork Orange (my #5 film overall)

Love Kubrick, I've been watching through all of them recently. The only 4 I haven't seen yet are the first 2, Clockwork, and Barry Lyndon (I'm very excited to see the second 2 of course). My list of Kubrick films. This'll be hard, as I love a good majority of his films. Films yet to see: The Killing, Killer's Kiss, Fear and Desire I want to re-watch Barry Lyndon to see if I change my perceptions about it, I think I saw it at too young an age and it didn't click. 8. Spartacus (I don't even consider this one of his films, as its him being gelded by Hollywood. Easily my least favorite Kubrick film) 7. Lolita (I'd just go with the book if you want a more complex, disturbing approach. Odd, considering Kubrick seemed to have a great understanding of the source materials of some of his other movies) 6. Eyes Wide Shut (agree with you on most of your points, I feel this film is widely misunderstood, as many conspiracy nuts tend to latch on to the orgy scenes, but yeah it's a film about marriage and the complications that come with it. It can be a bit too slow for my taste, but still one of Kubrick's best) 5. Full Metal Jacket (Another one I feel is widely misunderstood, it's almost kind of scary how some have come to identify with Ermey's character, as he's supposed to be a dark satire and critique on the dehumanizing nature of war) 4. Paths of Glory (Much as I love FMJ, I find that Paths is much more touching in its straight forward nature. Kirk Douglas is magnificent in this film. Much like how you described Strangelove, I'm now mad at myself that it took me this long to see it) 3. Dr. Strangelove (Kubrick really surprised me with this one, I was expecting an artsy, pretentious comedy, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was a knee-slapping hilarious romp. Peter Sellers is a revelation in this film.) 2. The Shining (it's a classic, what's there more to say? It's my second favorite horror film of all time behind The Thing. Jack Nicholson is brilliant in this film and Duvall gets a lot of unnecessary hate for her performance and I don't think that's fair.) 1. A Clockwork Orange & 2001: A Space Odyssey (I'm cheating, I know, but I can't help it, I love both of these movies and it's hard to pick just one to love more)
