I'm not sure if Tommy's father knew Gary Moore personally but had taken Tommy to a GM concert & Tommy was so impressed he decided he wanted to become a guitarist. This cover is based on Gary's live performance of this track in Stockholm 1987 (it's on RUclips). Great reaction guys, keep up the good work.
My god Tommy's guitar work simply never ceases to amaze me. One of the absolute best out there in my opinion, right up there with the great David Gilmore of Pink Floyd if you ask me. And as a die hard Pink Floyd and Gilmore fan I cannot believe I am going to say this, but maybe even better than.
By the way - I have seen video from Budapest for some days ago with this consert dedicated to Gary. Tommy had some troubles with guitar in the beginning, and probably felt so much responsibility and strong emotions - it was clear.. But the whole thing was just wonderful. The most important that he is really ALIVE person - and he understand Blues. He can things.

He was in Thin Lizzy. Tommy's Father was a Gary Moore fan and played his music to Tommy when he was young. Tommy has a singing spot now in Sabaton when they play live but he also does harmonies along with Chris Rörland for Sabaton. Watch their recent live videos.

He does do a solo with Sabaton where the rest of the band leaves the stage, and he sings and plays a couple of his Friday songs. Yes! Great performance as usual but for once I prefer the original. It's something in Garys performance and voice that feels more painful and harsh which suits the lyrics better imo. I don't really feel the pain here. It's perfect and well executed so it's just my personal feeling. Thanks for sharing.

Also It is quite common that older people in Sweden knows a bit of German, like my mother who is born in 1950, she can speak some German, but it is not common that younger people speak it. Also the members of ABBA who are also from that generation, could speak some German.
