I guess they couldn't find two other girls for the original Ouendan cheer girls, or they were just focusing on the last song in Ouendan 2 which has that difficulty's leader, and not the back ups.
I don't think you quite understand the endurance and energy you gotta have to dance as fast as the Cheer Squad in the game. Extreme amounts of speed and relentless pops and locks.

It's not a "western term". There are 2 games, same gameplay style. The Japanese game is called "Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!", and the American game is called "Elite Beat Agents"
