God bless you! Your ability to move around the fretboard is effortless! As a sax player learning bass, this is one of my biggest challenges. You’ve opened my mind up to what I need to practice.
What would the patterns look like for a 4 string though? I get what he’s saying, as someone who stays boxed up. If I can just memorize another pattern (scale) around the fretboard think I’d be satisfied 😂
The only difference with the 5 string is the lower B string. You can do most of what a 5 string bass player can do with the exception of the lower notes. I just started on a 5 string coming from a 4 string.
The patterns will look exactly the same, I think! Just look at it as the B string(fifth string) isn’t there. Practice along with the vid in the key of G Major. I hope this helps!
Hey I love your video! But the only critique I have is the logo covers yours hands at times when you’re playing.
That will be fixed on all videos moving forward! My apologies on that!
@ for sure. Please keep posting bass content your stuff is easy to follow !! God bless

You gotta do a lesson on creating tasteful licks and riffs!!!

Practicing is a never ending cycle, it’s always something new to learn/practice! Thank you for watching!
I like the way you explained this. I now understand how to connect pentatonic scales to a groove better.
Glad that I could help and it made sense to you! Thank you for watching!

Bingo!
It's me liking the video before I even watch it 😂😅
😂 I love that energy!!! 🫡
As an "Old Beginner" I was confused until noticing you are using a 5 string bass. I'm using a 4 string.

I forgot to give that disclaimer on this vid lol! Apply these same concepts to your four string. Even think of it as the fifth string isn’t there!
