I don't agree that Sting is a jerk. I don't know him personally and I doubt that you do, so to make a statement like that is short sighted. I've read bios from Copeland and Summers about Sting and he could be accused of being strong willed and opiniated, probably arrogant but the guy is a musical genius and his songs, whether with the Police or solo, have always had profound lyrical content behind deep musical feeling.

Apparently you don't get why this is done in the first place. Record Companies put artist together so their combined fans will buy records. i dont know if id call sting a genius, but he sure knows how to make hits. does that take a genius of sorts? i dont know. stevie on the other hand also knows how to make hits. but some of his musical ideas that i hear just seem so good. again, i dont think id call him a genius but considering everything he does in music he does well (sing, harmonica, piano, songwriting, drums) id say hes very talented and close to a genius as you might get.

For 90% of today's artists, this song would have been some FM-radio pop drivel...but these two master craftsmen make it feel so ethereal.
