Na bro me too I have been trying to get a dog for at least 6 years now and I'm still unsuccessful. My parents say it is too expensive to own a dog because they have to take it to the vet. It makes me sad to know that it probably wont happen. I try to talk to them seriously and even said I will save my money to help pay for the dog but nothing works. I am 13 years old and I have watched at least 30 videos on how to convince my parents. I am not willing to accept the fact that I might have to wait until I'm 18 for a dog. My cousin convinced her parents to get a dog. She wrote 8 essays over why they should get a dog. I am a huge tomboy and I cant relate to people in my family. I think a dog would help with that and my parents still wont get one. My brother and my sister are bother allergic to dogs but my mom said that if we got one we would get a labradoodle. I'm so annoyed by this. I have worked my way up to stage 3 and have stayed there for at least 4 months now and there are no signs of us getting a dog.😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪

Gacha Girl my suggestion is to tryout fostering, it’s like owning a dog but for a few days or weeks.
People are so different with backgrounds that vary. Parents may have their reasons for not wanting a dog that you won't be able to overcome while living with them. Some need to wait until they are grown and move out.

I try to convince my parents but they always say “we already have 4 dogs in this house” which is me and my siblings and they also say “when we are at work and you are in school who is going to take care of the dog?” It’s so hard to make them convinced

So I cleaned everything without my parents asking but than my mom said „Oh thats only because she wants dog" Reason why my parents dont want a dog is because we would have to leave him alone till i get back from school or them from work and idk what else

Live On Purpose TV one of the reasons why my parents are saying no, is because when I go off to university in like 4 or 5 years they will have to look after the dog when I go to collage. I do know that if I got a dog then they would fall in love straight away, but there’s literally no chance of my dad agreeing :(

you know there are a such thing as dog hotels... we take our cats there every time we have to leave for more than 2 nights. All they do is look after them, play with them, take them out for walks, and it only costs like 20$ a night or something like that for mine.

Thank you for watching and really paying attention, Kiran Draviaraj. Any child of any ethnicity or culture can be on any stage of moral development. Life is so much easier for everyone if children are on a Stage 3, though parents are grateful when their children are on Stage 2. That being said, it is only human to be on Stage 1 sometimes - even for parents.

am so happy because this video helped and with asking and begging to my parents so much, they finally gave in and agreed to get me a dog! I am getting a maltese x shih tzu puppy on January 9 and I am just SO excited!! My parents were not much of dog people earlier but by showing them photos and videos of dogs, I helped change their minds and now they find dogs, especially puppies really cute, friendly and loyal companions! We are all looking forward to the new dog and are starting to buy the supplies and prepare our house for his arrival. I am just so happy, I can't believe I actually convinced my parents!

Banana AZZYAlien, it is difficult and that is why we learn and grow so much by doing it. You will discover so many things about yourself by getting and maintaining Stage 3. Honestly, doors will open for you in unexpected areas.
@@LiveOnPurposeTV Hello I don't have very strict parents the only problem is like I have time right now as most of us do im at school alot and the dog wil be alone for about 1 hour i dont know if its to long daily about 3 hours a day and my parents are saying you don't have the time because of school but if i would get back in 45 minutes there and back during school and then 7 hours a day and 4 hours to train is that to little because I can't convince without the info my parents would walk the dog when Im at school but when im home we agreed if we ever get a dog I will do the things during the day when I'm home do is 3 hours the dog being alone with no one to much? (1.5 hour at 7am and 1.5 hour at 2:30 pm)
if you remember my comment about how my dad does not want one but my mom and brother does my dad says he does not want one because of the responsibility you need to have. He also said that we need to make the decision as a family. Luckily today he said he will think about it!

BananaRoses, may I suggest something? Try Stage 3 behavior for a few weeks. Remember to be respectful, honest, mature, responsible, and take initiative for things that you see need to get done. Be authentic and consistent with it. After this time, go to your parents and tell them that you have tried really hard to be more mature and responsible lately. Ask if there is anything more you can do to earn a dog. You can also ask what their concerns are and try to address them: is money an issue? Training? Walking / feeding / cleaning up after it? Offer to help with what they want. If they still say no, accept it graciously, don't bring it up again, and continue with Stage 3 behavior. Trust me, there is a high chance they'll be impressed and remember what you are willing to do to earn a dog. Thanks for being at Live On Purpose TV.

I have wanted a dog for a whole 10 years. My parents never agreed. Guess that’s it for me. Excuse me for a bit while I go bawl out my eyeballs
I’ve been asking for a dog for years. I’ve proven multiple times to my parents that I can take care of a dog because we have fostered dogs from our local rescue. My dad is all for it but my mum will never ever be convinced. My mum is very indecisive and can never make up her mind. She said she doesn’t want to be tied down. iiDrxrya Tutorials, the best way to do this is to educate yourself. Get online and find products or ways to address their concerns. When you give them options it makes it easier for them to say yes.

Good news! I was supposed to get my new Maltese shih tzu puppy on January 9 but we ended up getting him early and got him just last night! We are all so happy with the new addition to our family and the puppy is adjusting so well, he’s just the cutest thing ever 🥰

I've been washing my dishes and somtimes all of them since I was 9 they still say to me "how will you take care of the dog?" "Who will bath it?" "Who will take it on a walk in the morning? " (Even though I wake up at 5:30 every morning for school). Then they say, "well we already had 3 dogs we don't need anymore" (my sisters and i). Then I point out that our cousins have almost all our cousins have a dog, even the one of my aunt and uncle with 4 kids. Even my 6 year old cousin got multiple fishes and my 9 year old cousin got a dog when he was 6 and he doesn't take care of it AT ALL. It's not fair. What do I do?
I hear you, Katherine A. I know it's hard, but try not to compare your family to others. Each family is different, with different money situations, what they are willing to accept into their home, and their priorities. So what can you do? In addition to being on Stage 3 as much as possible, find some time to ponder the questions your parents are asking and try to find solutions for them. ANU START, sometimes it is tough to have a dog while in college, but it can be done.
My problem is kind of my mom. My dad wants a dog, my brother doesn’t really care (I don’t even know why his opinion matters, but apparently it does), but my mom doesn’t. My mom had 3 dogs when she was younger and they died which made her really upset. I’ve asked her many times and she always tells me, “I love dogs but they make me attached and I get really upset from their death.” So I don’t know what to do.
Raven, be sensitive to her feelings and maybe watch the video about losing a pet on the channel and see if she can work through her feelings to allow another dog in.

Amber Clark, talk to your siblings and maybe you can talk to your friends and see if anyone else has had this happen and what they did to overcome it. Also, ask your mom what it would take for her to become comfortable with the arrangement.
Bro literally when I was on vacation they had 2 dogs and I fed them 3 times every day when I was there I told her how happy I was to play with dogs and still nothing I can’t believe this.

Many dogs are comfortable staying by themselves, if not we can teach them through this quarantine.
“It’s going to pee and poop everywhere”
That’s why we potty train them, I’ll make sure they learn how to go to the bathroom.”

1) We can get a dog that hardly sheds, or doesn’t shed at all.
2) We can broom and trim the dog consistently to avoid this.
