I use a washable marker in a color to match what yarn you're going to use. That way you can map it out then cut it. Once you have everything mapped out you know you won't mess it up
If I don't have a washable marker I use a fine tip marker. If I'm not in a hurry I then throw it in the bathroom sick with a little bleach. Rinse and let dry.
Yay! I also ordered the Village and got the notification that it shipped so I'm hoping to get started on that soon. I totally share the same experience of getting stuck in the loop of looking at all the videos and hesitating with where to begin when starting something new. It's looking great! Also, your blanket is FANTASTIC! I love how the colors are coming together. 🦇🎃
If you’re unsure about cutting the canvas, you can stitch the pieces on the full piece of canvas & cut when you’re finished. That way you’re sure to cut it out right. I’ve done needlepoint since I was a kid in the 70’s. Sometimes I cut the pieces, but for more detailed pieces I stitch them on the canvas before cutting just to be sure. Good luck and enjoy it.
I look forward to seeing how your canvas project turns out 🧡 It looks like something I might want to try next year. Thank you for sharing how much fun you are having! Lots of love from the Pacific Northwest 🧡
Hi Kayla. Love the raven shirt. Looking forward to reading my Edger Allen Poe book from Cracker Barrel in Oct. Can't wait to see your new project finished.😊
GOUL lemmie spill some tea for you, MIX THE GOBLIN AND SOURCER YARN. Im making a diagonal chevron mixing the two and its BATAZZ! its honestly the best color combo iv done in a LONG time. I seperated it with Hobby Lobby I Love this yarn :Metallic black (yes ik HL ick but i can't find a cheaper yarn alt). You wouldn't think to mix those two together but it JUST WORKS!
Everything is SO cute! Every time you showed something extra cute I would say “omg it’s so cute” and immediately after you would say “so frickin cute” 😂😂 Dang it now I wanna buy it 😂 Have you tried gem painting yet? I’ve been wanting to try it for a while but haven’t actually bought any kits. Until the other day I went to Michael’s and they had spooky ones!! So I got two. Now I’m glad I put off trying them for so long. It’s so much more appropriate that the first ones I do are spooky ones 🖤👻🎃
The mansion looks like it will be perfect in your dongon. I have done very little plastic canvas, but my mom & mother-in-law loved doing it. I have their decorations from years ago, but no Halloween. Your blanket is looking great!
I do not need to make a green dragon scale blanket. I do not need to make a green dragon scale blanket. I do not need to make a green dragon scale blanket. Context: I took the motif from the aranami shawl to make a blanket in a vintage red variegated (burgundy, bright red, orange) that creates a very natural and organic shift. It's a smaller sized throw, but it's potato chip knitting. I've sidelined 2 other projects that were already on the needles and I haven't been able to put the dragon scale blanket down since January. But I'm on the last skein. Then I found a blue variegated at Walmart that I think would work well. And now I've found a green...
That is so cute! I am currently living my spooky crafting vicariously through this, on a buying ban.❤
Don’t cut the canvas until you are 110% sure. Made that mistake before, luckily you can usually find the loose sheets at a craft store.
I did notice my local craft store has a variety of colors for the loose sheets🎃
I take a fine tip marker and count the squares. I mark where I need to cut. If I need to I can wash it off. I sometimes use bleach and rinse well.
Love the colors in your Halloween sweater!❤❤❤
Those little bat buttons are so dang cute!
The back of mine is usually a mess. You did a great job. Looks perfect. Its ok to make mistakes. Thats how we learn 💜💜

That's a great tip thank you!

I also do that!! I have to force myself to start otherwise I’ll just keep putting it off. It’s so annoying sometimes 😂😅🤦🏻♀️
Loving the haunted manor, looks so cool! 🖤
Loving the Village, so much work in it. I use to do plastic canvas all the time. Hope you enjoy it, can't wait to see it finished.
I’m having a blast so far! 🎃

Thank you so much for the tips. Makes me feel better to just work it up and cut it later so nice to know others do that as well🎃
Im doing the village! This made me less afraid to start lol thank you!!
That’s fantastic l! I’m glad you’re joining in this year. Hope you’re enjoying it so far🎃

I haven’t tried gem painting yet but I see so many spooky ones! Might have to check out Michaels now and start another craft🎃😅
Check out the Beetlejuice pajamas at Kohl’s.
I wish you can show your work❤❤
I'm trying to find videos of the haunted manor assembly and the craft. I can't find anything, what key words did you use?
I WOULD LOVE TO GET THE HAUNTED HOUSE BUT DON'T HAVE THE MONEY RIGHT NOW
I love doing plastic canvas along with crochet. You need a break from crochet and why not another craft that uses yarn. Take your time and enjoy.
Exactly! It's another fun yarn craft
Love the yarn used for your cardigan! Do you happen to remember what you used?
It’s was a limited edition from Mace of Skeins, monster mash🎃
What if you use the glow in the dark yarn you just got for the windows instead of the yarn it came with? Then your windows would glow in the dark!
This is a fantastic idea!🎃
