Hi dude. I have almost the same car and I got work time with stock battery (2s 1500mah) 20-25 minutes. Do you tested your car from this video with your new battery, what work time you get? Thx for answer.
@@dangerousman5553 My REMO HOBBY 1631 with stock battery from the box give me work time 20 min. With new battery which I assembled in this video I got more than 1 hour nonstop work time (with car throttle 75%)
I used it on 0.15, about half of the welds are considered good for me, so I make 10 welds or more (thats 20 weld points) per battery contact. I am considering getting a Kweld or Malectrics, more money but I think I will get what I pay for. 0.1 welds are good and much more consistent.
If I use one battery 3S, 2200mah, 70C - I get current 2.2*70=154A. If I use two batteries( in parallel connection) - total capacity 4400mah, 3S and 70C - I get current 4.4*70=308A. If you will use power supply 12V (12V-14.6V) - be Ok, but very important current! I think needs current more than 150A (but manufacturere says about 90-150A). If your 12V power supply can gave corrent near 100-150A - this power supply must be successful.
@@81hermit There's no chance I'll ever get my hands on such powerful PSU. However, there's another, much cheaper option. I could take a bunch of parallel 16v capacitors and charge them with any weak 12v PSU. This might work well enough for welding with this device.
@@tode0001 It will for sure. Car batteries are made to give away 400-700 Amps of peak current. So even not the newest battery should handle such task pretty well. For a highly depleted battery you could just use a few capacitors in parralel, that should be enough to supply peak current.

C Rating does not double when you parallel the lipos. You double the capacity (mAh) only. C rating stays the same. It's an inherent property of the LiPo cells. If it has 35C, it will remain 35 C per pack. So you compute base on 35C. The discharge current for a 2200mAh LiPo with 35C will be 2.2x35 = 70A. No wonder it will still work for spot welding compared to using 2 lipos in parallel since the discharge rating is the same.

Thank you for guide. This welding pcb will be necessary for some handmade projects at home
yeah. I agree with you ;)

You can use any 3S lipo battery which have 70C discharge current (or higher)
can this pcb weld more thicker (more than 0.1 mm thick) nickel plate?
I think yes, this pcb can weld more thicker nickel tape, if you will use mode4/5 and more powerful (with higher current) power supply
