    I am a long haul truck driver in russia with 15yrs of exp, literally dream about living and driving in USA, but they won`t let me in the USA, and crazy putin will drag me to war to kill me there.
    Sad life...
    P.S.
    Our european trucks have so small cabs, yet we are for months on the road, sometimes in a team of 2 drivers in one cab.
    Also the number of accidents per capita is 10 times higher.

    No time soon. Who is hook this truck up to the charger. If it’s me the truck can only go 200 miles before it has to come back. Don’t have a traffic problem either. If it does break. Where are they towing it too for maintenance 😳.

    Driver shortage? What would spot rates be if this so called shortage didn't exist? .25/mile?

    • @Gill22
      @Gill22  Год назад +1

      Supposedly there’s a driver shortage, not a shortage of small trucking companies competing for spot market freight. Two completely different things.

    • @PMiller3425
      @PMiller3425 Год назад +1

      @@Gill22 Yes, two different things. However, you can change the question to contract rates and it’s still valid. Big companies want more drivers but that doesn’t mean the market could support them. The market can barely support the drivers in it now.

  • @Tomminz
    @Tomminz Год назад +1

    There is no truck driver shortage, that's a complete myth. Actually, the opposite is true right now, there is too much capacity. There are too many truck drivers. There is, however, a driver RETENTION problem.

  • @The-Harpy-Slayers

    To he honest I think 🤔 the reason why the government is trying to replace drivers is because you can haul explosive freight hazmat or high priority freight and make as much as a doctor....they don't think a guy or gal driving miles doing their job should make as much as a person with a degree 😂 I haul everything if the price is right I just made 910$ in one day just driving around town moving trailers from the port to the warehouse didn't even burn that much fuel....

    Good video and great comparison of both trucks. I’d still get a Tesla truck and drive it myself until more and more vehicles, including personal vehicles, become fully autonomous. You see these first few years there will be many accidents. Most of witch will be litigated in court and concluded with human error issues at fault. You see software won’t allow the vehicle to break the laws. Once we see 80 to 90 percent of the roadways with self driving vehicles will we be in the utopia of the future we had seen on the Jetsons and movies. We still aren’t there yet. But, we are taking very big steps and it’s just around our lifetime.

      If you want to to debate first take your feelings out of it. Factually.. as I said before technology waits for no one. Technology will continue to evolve and diesel will slowly fade out it is only natural as it is not a sustainably resource.
      I never once said electric was the answer I merely used it as an example as an alternative that in conjunction with further advancement and methods will phase out diesel and how we fuel the industry currently.
      I didn’t say today I didn’t say tomorrow I simply said technology stops for no one and your a fool if you think diesel will still be used in the capacity it is today far or maybe in not too far in the future from now.
