I thought it carved really well especially ripping groomers and I don't hate all the real estate under foot as I got the 156W (47 yr old/190 lbs./5-10" and riding for 27 years). I currently ride a 2017 Rome Agent 161MW, love knapton style carving with the wide waist (26.5 cm) and no heel/toe drag but it’s pretty unforgiving and wants to murder me if I slip up. Thinking of adding a quiver board that’s more freestyle all mountain oriented (true twin to work on switch riding and carving) so easier to throw around on 1s and 3s, butter tricks etc, but still wide enough +cambered for knapton style carving. I’ve had this board for three seasons now, if you count last season as a season; I know everyone says it’s great in POW and it was okay, but after each run, it felt like two or three runs... it just took extra work. It also felt like it slimmed over everything; at 210 lbs, I guess I just prefer a stiffer board. It's a combination of your lack of ability and your boards flex. Twinpig will be more stable but probably too much board for you. Warpig might be what you should look at.
Angry Snowboarder first , thank you for the reply. The twin pig too much board? Isn’t it softer than the warpig? I was thinking the warpig was more advanced and the twin pig more intermediate.

So you're going to want something that's at minimum at least a 160w for most normal shaped snowboards. I think a 160w will give you a bit of a learning curve for your size to get the fundamentals down. My go to recommendation is the K2 Raygun as I think that will get you to where you need to be and won't hold you back as you progress.

Maarten Van Cauwenberge i’m right there with you. Everything you described in your comment is me SPOT ON. I will say, I’ve owned the DOA for 3 years now and I recently picked up the twinpig. The twinpig has replaced my DOA in all respects, mainly because it’s more stable on the jumps and just feels better/more playful all around. If you plan on getting the twinpig, I say get it! If you’re anything like me - which you are - then I promise you’ll love the board. For reference my current setup is the twinpig with Contact Pros (medium-soft binding) and Burton Photons (medium stiff boots). This or battaleon magic carpet, jones expander twin, capita pow twin??? Sidehits, big jumps, tree pow, some rails mainly messin around off anything i can boost off. Advance rider
Magic carpet or maybe marhar lumberjack x
@@AngrySnowboarder just bought magic carpet you think burton clip ons would be good?
@@tantrumwakebordr No.
@@AngrySnowboarder i have ridden union super pros for like 10 years. But i have friends that wont stop talking about how much they like them. I also sinch down my bindings super tight and end up bending in the toe of my boot into a crease and it kills my foot. Why say no?
I can get a pretty good deal on a 151 cm Twinpig. I am 6'1", 177 lbs and size 12-13 boots. I want a park board for (especially) buttering and some jibbing. Should I get the Twinpig? Or should I wait for the 2022 releases and get something like an Evil Twin, which everyone recommends for buttering. Thanks!
Your call and your money.
Coming off a 156W Yes Basic which I love, feel I may have already sized down at 100kgs (220 in that weird old scale) should I be looking at grabbing the 154 or 157? I guess even the 156W... but I love tight tree runs, carving and jumps. I’m shit at rails so fuck them.
You can kind of go either way with this. 54 will be better in tight trees albeit this board isn't that great in trees to begin with. Or you could do the 57 and have more edge hold for carving and more surface area for jumping.
Cheers for the quick reply. Yeah, I'm still stuck on this one...
Yoooo, Thank you for reviewing this board! Last season I picked up the pink/blue Gnu SPAM based on your recommendations. Such a fun sick looking board! Anyway, This year I was thinking of adding a softer, twin style, volume shifted board to my quiver for butters, side hits, and mostly to improve my switch riding. I wear a 10.5 and boot out on 255 waist width so the Twin pig seemed to check all the marks. I was also looking at the new Yes 20/20 too if you've ridden that. (Top sheet looks sweet and unique). Anyway, what do you think? Any other boards come to mind? Do I even need another board or should I quit being a needy little bitch and butter, side hit, and ride the shit out of the SPAM until the wheels fall off? Cheers angry snowboarder!
You don't want the Twinpig if you want something softer than the Spam, you want a K2 Party Platter or a Marhar Lumberjack instead.
Ah man, I literally just watched your review on the party platter too. How was it riding switch even though its setback a bit?
Can you ride switch? There's your answer.
Im 5'8 170 pounds. Looking for a board to progress my jibing and buttering skills but still hit the whole mountian. I have a rossi Angus right now that i can charge hard on, I just eat it when i try to jib and butter.
If you're looking at Ride I'd go with either a Kink instead.
Hey nerd! What do you think about impact short with g form? waste of money?
Are you so brittle you need impact shorts? If they fit and they protect you where you need it then go for it. The big thing with impact shorts is that most people want them for tailbone protection but they don't actually offer it.
@@AngrySnowboarder since I still suck ass snowboarding I would have liked tailbone protection but I guess if they don't offer the one thing they were suppose to then I'm certainly not. Thanks! You should do a top 5 of protective of bullshit protective gear!
I think they are good for debutants and people recovering of an injury that can't wait to ride, or disabled people with lack of movilitty due to a back injury (I know 2 people), and maybe if you are a hardcore boardercross racer. Other than that, they are extremely uncomfortable. They wont prevent you from a broken tailbone or a broken hip, only from some pain if you land on your butt on ice after a failed flat trick, like catching an edge.
And from gay ski tourists...
Look up azzpadz on amazon. Bought a pair last year. Saved my tail bone multiple times.
Also mainly riding on small Wisconsin hills
Hi, i’m looking for a second board, i have a capita limited edition 2013/2014 scott Stevens (a beefed Up ultra fear with Some extra carbon,...). Now i’m a park novice who van do some boardslides and beginner stuff, also love Some small to small medium jumps, not my must to become An expert in this, but improve. I mostly ride piste (Some tree stuff also) and am intermediate. But doubting beween the warpig and twinpig. My capita is a bit do iT all. But now struggling do i het a more park or piste board, when i,m out with my girl i’m doing more freestyle\park ride. But when i go with my mates (2 advanced skiers) , we do more all mountain piste fast riding. I feel my capita is pretty stiff (flex 6 or so) for buttering and jibbing (or iT is because i suck) and when at high speeds it gets a bit bucked around and in icy terrain it washes out. So your opinion? Does not have to be one of these, honest advice is welcome
Would you suggest a 156w or 157 for a 6'2, 215-220 pds, sz 12?
Thanks!
56w.
56w definitely
George chi what about 6 ft 185 lb size 12 plzz
Nice review ...i m using burton process flying v ...and i wanna try this one ....u think is there any big differences? Like shape and flex ,etc...thxthx
Yes.
Angry Snowboarder thanks thanks ...👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Just picked up a 148! I’m 5’6 150 with a 8.5 boot. Wanted to get the 142 but I was a little too fat for it.
How do you like it
Damn I just had my shop order me one of these, now you are making me wish I got the warpig
You made your choices!
Brendan Cunningham you won’t regret it. It’s an awesome twin. Last years TwinPig was my daily driver and it didn’t disappoint.
Marco Figueroa how’s the edge hold on form to icy crap?
Joseph Auler, it’s biggest drawback for sure. I ride out east and ice is a huge problem on my hill. I’ve got libtech with magne traction for those days.
Hows the edge hold on this?
It's OK nothing mind blowing.
I'm trying to decide between the ride twinpig and the capita doa .
Looking for an all mountain favoring the freestyle side.
5'-11" 185lb w/ gear, 11 boot, intermediate rider . Socal rider .
Thanks
DOA.
Less snap than warpig?
Feels that way.
The board chips very easily tho
Hi mate was looking at getting this board I’m 6ft and 175pounds, will the 151 be too small even with the extra width, looking to use it for park and all mountain
Nope you're good.
from your review, I don't think any ride boards are up my alley for demoing. I'm super picky with my time on hill, I barely get 20 days a season here in Michigan. I don't like demoing boards that aren't any fun and pretty much waste my time in other words lol. It seems like the lumberjack is the board of all boards!!!
Ride Algorhythm and Ride Superpig are the only 2 you need to check out.
I am 5,10 is 151 cm good for me
Yes? No? Who cares how tall you are it's all about your weight.
I'm a 6'6 rider with a size 13 boot. Would this board work for me? I started snowboarding last year and am planning to comfortably do blue runs by the end of this season. I primarily ride icey runs - no pow where I'm from. If not this board then which?
No. There's plenty but need a bit more stats from you.
@@AngrySnowboarder I'm looking to do mostly ungroomed icey terrain. can currently make turns down green runs easy but planning to move to blue runs in a couple weeks. not looking at doing park for a few years. is that enough info?
Your weight would really help.
@@AngrySnowboarder Ah sorry about that I'm about 250 pounds

Also, I got to ride the Scott Stevens pro board last year and I absolutely loved how playful that board was. Not a huge fan of the rocker personality but everything else about that board was fun.
Hope this helped!
