Two other things that are disappointing, not mentioned in the comments thus far as I can see. 1. When you're in career mode and playing a tournament, you can't as far as I can tell, see the draw and other results. I think this feature, which occurs in other sports sims, adds immersion, helps you to feel you are in a "world" and it is sadly lacking here. 2. Once you start career mode, I can't see a way to adjust aiming or AI difficulty once you've started, this is very inflexible and quite poor
Few points i think need changing: - The free move camera can be difficult to use sometimes - The white screen that pops up after every shot needs to be removed. It's very bright especially if playing in a dark room (e.g night time) - Sometimes the commentary finishes before the shot has even been played (e.g it says that's a bad miss, while the cue ball is still travelling towards the object ball). -Own character creation would be good Apart from that it's a brilliant game imo

Agreed on the "players looking clinically insane" front. I was playing against Shaun Murphy as Jimmy White the other day and I did notice that the Murphy model appeared to have double red-eye on each break off shot. He looked like something out of 28 Days Later.
Played all evening and the patch has sorted out the safety play and now....its brilliant, absolutely brilliant. My palms have been sweating all night. The gameplay is the key here and my goodness, this is as good a sports sim ive seen in decades. The physics are brilliant and the chance to play the whole season schedule is ace. For a first effort this is truly brilliant. I personally think when you ses games like rugby league live coming out at 60 quid this is the best priced game at 26 quid ive seen in years. I think this is one if the best releases ive seen in such a long time. No blinking dlc, no money grabbing just the whole game, well priced and well made. I love this game i have to say. The developers need a huge pat on the back for this. Yes there are cut scenes and presentation that could be added, but we live in an age of great cut scenes and presentation and more and more dumbed down game play. This is a sim uk fans dream. Brilliant 👍👍👍👍
It is in a good state now and I hope things will get added as we go ahead, things like some more animations for the players maybe chalking up a little after taking shots, a referee walking around placing the colours back and checking touching balls etc, definitely a create a player option for the career mode. Replays are a must too. It is all the little things they could add that would really make this perfect xD The basics are all in place so I just hope to be spoiled with little bonuses now lol
Well written. I totally agree with you..the gameplay is very addictive and the tv style appearance and graohics are really welcome. The close ups are photo realistic!

If the ladder was against the wall from the beginning, how did they not see it when they got out of the car? 🤔 The 2nd CCTV camera is blurred because of the rain. This was bought up in court but obviously disregarded by the jury. All in all, hes lucky not to be in prison.
Really enjoying the game, the only option I would like to see is a practice mode, ie you could practice potting and positional play as the pros do with the balls lined down the table, or practice without an opponent would be good.
Yea I was thinking I'd get it but the price was just too high and from what I've seen it seems kinda unfinished.. I've seen player's legs going through the table, the characters look very clunky and the overall texturing could be a little more refined. As for what I keep reading about pop ups after every shot and badly programmed commentary etc that didn't help either. If it were around £15-£20 I'd probably have got it with the hope of updates. I'll wait to see if they release an improved version.
Recently picked this up on the playstation store for around £10. It's great value for that price. Aside from the things you mentioned I have a couple more gripes with the game. The lack of a tournament bracket to show who is in your half of the draw is frustrating and the lack of a save function in exhibition mode is annoying as I've enjoyed playing best of 35 frames at the Crucible on older games like Snooker 2005. Not too bothered about the lack of a player creator though as I'm really enjoying playing as Jimmy White in the career mode and hopefully winning his first world championship!
Yes the option to walk around the table is there, but not when being asked to select a colour. When it is unclear which colour you want to play, you desperately need to be able to walk around and see if the shot is `on`. You cannot do this yet.
For what it is worth after a few years. Great review, and I agree with most of your views on the game mechanics in particular. I'm a Dutch snooker fan since the early 90's, and I have been in many local tournaments as an amateur. Indeed Snooker 19 is a very solid game, it can be really immersive if you want it to be.
I would like some legends added for quick match and online modes, Steve Davis, Alex Higgins, Henry, etc. Maybe even a challenge like recreating the 85 final and other classic matches
Nice review. Great graphics but can you comment on the lack of an inspection mode that you get with games like Real Snooker 09 on the 360, you mentioned the overhead view which is sorely misding but not inspect. This feature is essential for making the shotlines easier to see rather than guessing.

ive played around 30 hours now on pc using a controller, my highest break being a 133 in online play, I think you were a little generous when it comes to the AI, a few of us on steam have been discussing the possibility that it may be scripted, by this what I mean is very very often you find if the AI misses a shot the white ball always ends up safe, and I don't mean on a cushion I mean in open play but with no ball on for you to have a crack at, it happens so often we are almost certain its scripted that way taking the random aspect of the game ( especially when you miss a shot you were suppose to be intending to get ) out of it. on day one we also notices the AI safety play would mostly just involve roll ups instead of playing back into baulk but that seems to have been solved with a very quick patch. I really really enjoy the gameplay aswell, I especially like how the power bar works and that if you don't hit the sweet spot in the middle of the white zone its not going to be the best cueing and if you try difficult shots or swerves its really important to cue the white well and hit that sweet spot. I don't think a snooker game has simulated your cueing ability before except just to miscue the ball. im not all that fussed about not being able to play as myself because the game tracks your stats anyway so everything I do is recorded as me doing it but just using Higgins for example. no big deal for me but I can see why people would like to see their name going up the ranks and not a snooker star. you also neglected to mention the online play which as it is right now is really poor, 1 single frame that lasts a short time, there are times when you are still able to win and are having a safety battle but the match timer runs out and you lose, this is a serious flaw for online play, plus no option to select match size etc its really really bad, some of the best matches ive had have been online since that AI seems to incredibly scripted or lucky too too often. besides that good review mate enjoyed the watch.

I left the online aspects because I do t really have a full comprehension of it at this time, I like the idea of an online persistent career (as it seems to be) but needs time to really experience it. Hi Mike, hope you are well. A couple of issues I have found on the PC version are not all events have a trophy presentation (having just won the Riga). Also, the steam achievements do not seem to unlock, for example obtaining a 50 plus break. Not sure if you have experienced this? Hope you may be able to provide any information. My initial thoughts from playing it are: - You mentioned "wrong commentary" a few times but there are some really glaring bad ones. I was going through the colors, lining up on the pink, and the commentary was "this pot for snookers required." Snookers with only the black left on the table? That's a new one for me. :) Or I'd miss a pot and the commentary was "he missed it but it doesn't matter" with 30 points left on the table, and then proceeded to lose. - I haven't heard Phil Yates yet. I actually found myself missing some classic Yates trivia while playing. :) - Audience cheering and clapping was quite appropriate -- the game does a good job at assessing shot difficulty. - NO PRACTICE MODE!? You were so right to lambaste the game for the absence of a practice mode. Baffling, truly. - Free look mode is absolutely useless. Most of the time you can't even see the pockets! The attention to detail and snooker love is apparent in so many places of this game, but given the current state of free look mode, one could be forgiven wondering if the game designers ever played snooker before. Or any cue sport for the matter. Baffling again. - We really need animations of Ronnie losing his temper after missing a sitter.
I was really looking forward to this game, but its absolute garbage, I hated the cue power controls, the camera angles are awful, the white screen flash after every shot is downright annoying, and where's the audience? I was expecting a WSC Real type of game with better graphics, but the frankly idiotic control system and no character creation, were game breakers for me, and sadly, my Xbox version of this game is winging it way back to Amazon.
Firstly, thank you for this solid honest review! Being a snooker fan since I was a whippersnapper I decided to pick this title up whilst social distancing during this god awful pandemic. I wholeheartedly agree with you that this is a superb snooker game!! The BEST since Jimmy White's "Whirlwind" After an hour or so I was in love with the gameplay and haven't put it down since. I hope to see some improvements introduced in the future. The audience needs to be more responsive as they are dead as a Dodo. More "Ooh's and ahhs" and coughing! I want to feel the atmosphere! These characters need to be more animated! It's very sterile. Where's the chalking of the cues? Reaching for the rests? Asking the Umpire to clean the ball after a bad contact? The tossing of the coin to break? The players looking nervous or bored sipping their water! It just feels that they have rushed things a tad here... Character creation in this game is a must! Why no inclusion of Stephen Hendry, Steve Davis or Alex Higgins ect? These were snooker LEGENDS!!! In summary, the gameplay is FANTASTIC but it lacks graphically and with some of the detailing. A bloody good effort though, I hope the developers really push on with this game and give us the most in-depth detailed snooker game ever created! They are on the right path for sure!!! Snooker 20? Let's go!!!!!
The actual gameplay is what was focused on here. The presentation completely relates to televised snooker. Overall experience playing this game is very satisfying. Nothing else like it on any console/pc..........ever !. The shortfalls are irrelevent seeing as they don't involve actual gameplay. Clearly the developers knew exactly what they were trying to accomplish when they were making this game.
Also, the match referee should be there and walk around the table along with the player. The coughing from crowd can gives a natural feel to the game as i hear in snooker 2000 by codemasters. Both the above features was in that game , then why not in #snooker19
Great review. Tempted to get it for the Xbox but will wait for the Switch instead. To be fair the price is fair. It’s not a triple A game and with one or two updates could fix a lot of the problems.
Does anyone know how many seasons you get to play because one of the achievement's say set the record for most world titles well that's seven that I can think of but it only has 3 stars and does anyone know what the stars actually mean
By invert Y, do you mean jacking the cue up? If so, you can (You press up/down on the joypad so PC it will likely be the up and down arrow keys). There is a few things this guy said wrong in this video like that. For example on playstation you just press Triangle to move your player around the table when in the video he said you can't do that.
@@doremroleinad3557 It's the up/down movement but 'invert Y' refers to swapping which direction the movement goes when you use the controller. From certain views (i.e. first person), some people like up to move the view down (like a pilot in a plane), others like up to be up. No invert Y means you can be stuck with a control system that's not natural to you. :-)
Looks a bit too slow paced and the balls roll too long. Does the game have a "skip to end a shot" or do you need to wait until everything comes to a rest? Also can you set up practice shots, move balls around etc like you can in Virtual Pool?
I actually feel the balls roll well, maybe stop a little too soon? No skip to end (meant to mention this) i expect it will be included in a patch. Again no Practice, trick shot or otherwise...I hope they introduce this, it is a possible patch element.
PC Version online mode does not work at all. The matchmaking system does not work. Save your money on pc as this is totally not worth the £30 they are selling it for
The sound is really bad! You can barely hear the cue and ball sounds and they sound muffled, too. They're much cleaner in real life. This is disappointing as it's the main sound you hear during a match.

In case you’re still interested in the game, a practice table and challenge mode have been added with the challenge mode being really fun and varied. Most of the other issues still persist but the game definitely looks better graphically than is shown in this video.
To be honest this game does need a lot of improvements which I hope they make better but I still play this game every day and have a blast with all the players. From your Trump to your Williams. I find it still tons of fun and worth the money in my opinion. It would also be cool to have legends in the game like Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry and Jimmy White. I doubt this will happen but it would be cool. So yeah if your wondering about buying this game I'd give it a go it you like Snooker. I play on xbox if you were wondering.👍😄
What we need is a cross between this and VPool 4. In VP4, the way you control your cue and move around the table is excellent but playing kids dressed like skateboarders is not what you want - it's a pool game so fair enough. Snooker 19 has the venues and the players but the controls look awful - unless this wasn't PC and mouse. The AI is mentioned a lot with this game - the way the balls move on break-off looks odd and unrealistic very heavy - perhaps the cloth is a bit thick :o) they barely move - never a red left on - based on the clips I've seen here.
this looks a lot like a snooker game i bought 12 years ago. maybe for 5.00 bucks it would warrent a buy. You would imagine that it would be easy to make a totally real looking snooker game in this day and age. Also it lacks imagination what about a golden option where you play as Davis or white or Alex...
Controls and camera angles are awfull as others said. As a fan of snooker I want to play the game without the aim line for the sake of experiencing the realistic sense but with such bad camera standpoint it looks like miles away when you even want to hit the ball near to pot.
I know that graphics aren't everything, but for a sim, and especially one where the location is literally a small room with just a few things in it, the graphics are terrible. Not just terrible, but lame.
Plays brilliantly...only issue (real issue) for me is the stutters, makes timing shots sooo hard! Only seems to be on PC version though? Even so, a brilliant snooker experience.
The shot at 11:09 is bullshit and I’m surprised he didn’t point that out. The cue ball doesn’t completely change trajectory when you play with side, that’s such and amateurish mistake.
Not being able to create your own character together with the ridiculous 20 min time limit and zero customisation options for online games, ie playing best of 3 or 5 frames and removing or extending the shot clock etc, have really ruined this game for me.
Think I'll stick with the excellent International Snooker by Big Head Games with the officially licensed Michaela as the referee. You can actually see the crowd and they clap too when acknowledging a good shot plus there's ooohs and argghhs when you miss a shot. You can save the last five minutes of several games, you can buy upgrades with in-game points. The only thing you don't see is a physical opponent and there is no commentary but let's face it, you're not meant to hear commentary when you're on the floor playing a game anyway! Graphics are realistic and physics spot on. I certainly wouldn't by Snooker 19 at this price point and certainly not with these shit graphics!!
Personally I think it is an ok game, but not worth £30. A lot of bugs such as needing this black to win the frame, and there are still 14 reds and all the colours on the table. The mouse control, not sure if it is just me, but is akward, I much prefer playing using keyboard now as I found it 100 times easier. I have it installed on two PC's one a 22 inch monitor, the next a 60 inch TV. I find the 60 inch TV much more playable, I think it is because the pocket size will be bigger. However, on a 22 inch monitor I am not making the same shots as I do on my TV. The skill setting I find is pretty good, I am on easy mode at the moment, but the players are not that easy. If you give them a free table, they can and will clean up. However, they will also make mistakes. The player characters are hideous to be honest, despite them being scanned, I cannot recognise half the players, even though I am not a snooker fan, but I know Ronnie's face. The thing that I hate most is the 10 second shot timer. It just is not long enough, you might want to look around the table, you might want to try different balls. It needs to go. Snooker is not a rushed game. I downloaded this in the naughty way to test it out, am I interested in purchasing it legally? Yes,.but I might wait and see what happens when steam have a sale. 6/10 my rating.
Who you play in tournaments depends on where you're ranked. Usually, #1 will play #128 or that sort of area. I would guess you chose to use a "rising star" who will be low ranked and will therefore always draw a top player. That's just how snooker works in real life.
Ref calls 'foul and a miss' even when your opponent needs lots of snookers. Wrong. Can't change your mind after selecting the colour you want after snookering yourself. Wrong. 3 consecutive fouls loses you the frame when you can't see both sides of the on ball. Wrong. Sigh
I was thinking this too. I know it's a low budget game and didn't have a massive team working on it like EA for example but, I thought they would have added some little quirks to each player. For example; Murphy is one of the best long potters and the best with the rest in real life but all the top 20 players are great with the rest and amazing at long pots.

Probably the best snooker game so far.. but it could've easily been so much more immersive. The graphics and character animations are very poor for 2020. The commentary is just terrible - potting 15 reds and blacks.. and then suggesting a safety shot? Should have more scripted commentary and facts about the players etc to avoid awkward silences (like Snooker 2007). Should also have more matches happening in the early rounds and random applause to distract you - maybe have a cutscene with players from the other table come over after a 147? There should also be pressure shots and momentum - so it's harder to get frame ball or the final black in a 147 etc. I think the actual mechanics of the game are excellent, but presentation is just not there.. which seems like the easiest part to get right when you've got access to literally everything on the world tour. The referee also needs to be constantly saying "settle down please"!
the carrer mode is bullshit. playing in on the lowest difficulty and YET the npcs plays like they are on fucking HARD!. that makes no sence. they have like 99.99% no faulticy in their shots. if you miss your shot you will sit like rest of the game watching the npc plop one ball in after another.

choosing your dress code and cues would be good like WSC 09, merge the two and you would have the best snooker game!

Hi Mike, hope you are well. A couple of issues I have found on the PC version are not all events have a trophy presentation (having just won the Riga). Also, the steam achievements do not seem to unlock, for example obtaining a 50 plus break. Not sure if you have experienced this? Hope you may be able to provide any information. I do think this is still a fantastic game and has been long over due. Great review. Kind regards Gav.
This is nothing but a half assed revamp of the old snooker titles9 or 10 yrs ago. TERRIBLE!!!
My initial thoughts from playing it are:
- You mentioned "wrong commentary" a few times but there are some really glaring bad ones. I was going through the colors, lining up on the pink, and the commentary was "this pot for snookers required." Snookers with only the black left on the table? That's a new one for me. :) Or I'd miss a pot and the commentary was "he missed it but it doesn't matter" with 30 points left on the table, and then proceeded to lose.
- I haven't heard Phil Yates yet. I actually found myself missing some classic Yates trivia while playing. :)
- Audience cheering and clapping was quite appropriate -- the game does a good job at assessing shot difficulty.
- NO PRACTICE MODE!? You were so right to lambaste the game for the absence of a practice mode. Baffling, truly.
- Free look mode is absolutely useless. Most of the time you can't even see the pockets! The attention to detail and snooker love is apparent in so many places of this game, but given the current state of free look mode, one could be forgiven wondering if the game designers ever played snooker before. Or any cue sport for the matter. Baffling again.
- We really need animations of Ronnie losing his temper after missing a sitter.
I was really looking forward to this game, but its absolute garbage, I hated the cue power controls, the camera angles are awful, the white screen flash after every shot is downright annoying, and where's the audience? I was expecting a WSC Real type of game with better graphics, but the frankly idiotic control system and no character creation, were game breakers for me, and sadly, my Xbox version of this game is winging it way back to Amazon.

Firstly, thank you for this solid honest review! Being a snooker fan since I was a whippersnapper I decided to pick this title up whilst social distancing during this god awful pandemic. I wholeheartedly agree with you that this is a superb snooker game!! The BEST since Jimmy White's "Whirlwind" After an hour or so I was in love with the gameplay and haven't put it down since. I hope to see some improvements introduced in the future. The audience needs to be more responsive as they are dead as a Dodo. More "Ooh's and ahhs" and coughing! I want to feel the atmosphere! These characters need to be more animated! It's very sterile. Where's the chalking of the cues? Reaching for the rests? Asking the Umpire to clean the ball after a bad contact? The tossing of the coin to break? The players looking nervous or bored sipping their water!
It just feels that they have rushed things a tad here... Character creation in this game is a must! Why no inclusion of Stephen Hendry, Steve Davis or Alex Higgins ect? These were snooker LEGENDS!!! In summary, the gameplay is FANTASTIC but it lacks graphically and with some of the detailing. A bloody good effort though, I hope the developers really push on with this game and give us the most in-depth detailed snooker game ever created! They are on the right path for sure!!! Snooker 20? Let's go!!!!!

The actual gameplay is what was focused on here. The presentation completely relates to televised snooker. Overall experience playing this game is very satisfying. Nothing else like it on any console/pc..........ever !. The shortfalls are irrelevent seeing as they don't involve actual gameplay. Clearly the developers knew exactly what they were trying to accomplish when they were making this game.
Also, the match referee should be there and walk around the table along with the player.
The coughing from crowd can gives a natural feel to the game as i hear in snooker 2000 by codemasters.
Both the above features was in that game , then why not in #snooker19

Great review. Tempted to get it for the Xbox but will wait for the Switch instead. To be fair the price is fair. It’s not a triple A game and with one or two updates could fix a lot of the problems.

There's a minute micro-stutter when any ball moves more than a few inches. Is this RUclips or the game. Maybe the game needs to run at a higher frame.

By invert Y, do you mean jacking the cue up? If so, you can (You press up/down on the joypad so PC it will likely be the up and down arrow keys). There is a few things this guy said wrong in this video like that. For example on playstation you just press Triangle to move your player around the table when in the video he said you can't do that.
@@doremroleinad3557 It's the up/down movement but 'invert Y' refers to swapping which direction the movement goes when you use the controller. From certain views (i.e. first person), some people like up to move the view down (like a pilot in a plane), others like up to be up. No invert Y means you can be stuck with a control system that's not natural to you. :-)

I have played this at length but still find you can't qualify for some tournaments for some reason.
Looks a bit too slow paced and the balls roll too long.
Does the game have a "skip to end a shot" or do you need to wait until everything comes to a rest?
Also can you set up practice shots, move balls around etc like you can in Virtual Pool?
I actually feel the balls roll well, maybe stop a little too soon?
No skip to end (meant to mention this) i expect it will be included in a patch.
Again no Practice, trick shot or otherwise...I hope they introduce this, it is a possible patch element.

PC Version online mode does not work at all. The matchmaking system does not work. Save your money on pc as this is totally not worth the £30 they are selling it for

The sound is really bad! You can barely hear the cue and ball sounds and they sound muffled, too. They're much cleaner in real life. This is disappointing as it's the main sound you hear during a match.
I understand they are addressing audio concerns soon.

Thank you for such a comprehensive review. I almost bought this, and am now very glad that I didn't. The negatives massively outweigh the positives for me.
In case you’re still interested in the game, a practice table and challenge mode have been added with the challenge mode being really fun and varied. Most of the other issues still persist but the game definitely looks better graphically than is shown in this video.
When you are actually playing the game you totally forget all the shortfalls it's that good.
Remember playing these games years back, they've not improved much lol.

To be honest this game does need a lot of improvements which I hope they make better but I still play this game every day and have a blast with all the players. From your Trump to your Williams. I find it still tons of fun and worth the money in my opinion. It would also be cool to have legends in the game like Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry and Jimmy White. I doubt this will happen but it would be cool. So yeah if your wondering about buying this game I'd give it a go it you like Snooker. I play on xbox if you were wondering.👍😄

What we need is a cross between this and VPool 4. In VP4, the way you control your cue and move around the table is excellent but playing kids dressed like skateboarders is not what you want - it's a pool game so fair enough. Snooker 19 has the venues and the players but the controls look awful - unless this wasn't PC and mouse. The AI is mentioned a lot with this game - the way the balls move on break-off looks odd and unrealistic very heavy - perhaps the cloth is a bit thick :o) they barely move - never a red left on - based on the clips I've seen here.

There wont be any seniors etc as stephen hendry snooker will have the seniors licence....

this looks a lot like a snooker game i bought 12 years ago. maybe for 5.00 bucks it would warrent a buy. You would imagine that it would be easy to make a totally real looking snooker game in this day and age. Also it lacks imagination what about a golden option where you play as Davis or white or Alex...

Controls and camera angles are awfull as others said. As a fan of snooker I want to play the game without the aim line for the sake of experiencing the realistic sense but with such bad camera standpoint it looks like miles away when you even want to hit the ball near to pot.
I know that graphics aren't everything, but for a sim, and especially one where the location is literally a small room with just a few things in it, the graphics are terrible. Not just terrible, but lame.
I agree, there are numerous areas where this game needs to improve dramatically, but even then it's still my favourite Snooker game in 2019.

Plays brilliantly...only issue (real issue) for me is the stutters, makes timing shots sooo hard! Only seems to be on PC version though?

The shot at 11:09 is bullshit and I’m surprised he didn’t point that out. The cue ball doesn’t completely change trajectory when you play with side, that’s such and amateurish mistake.
Not being able to create your own character together with the ridiculous 20 min time limit and zero customisation options for online games, ie playing best of 3 or 5 frames and removing or extending the shot clock etc, have really ruined this game for me.
Colour banding is awful. And never seen a dashed baulk line before. Throw in the Mannikins..... and it aint great is it ?
The flickering baulk line is an issue for me.
What annoys me is the time spent by devs on frills. Work out all the important stuff then next version add frills.
It's crying out for features, and I'd give a bollock to play an hour of The Line Up. You can't get get by watching the AI kick your arse.
why do the balls look like there sped up? they look jittery and unnatural ... WCS2003 was the best snooker sim, and animations were pretty good too
Think I'll stick with the excellent International Snooker by Big Head Games with the officially licensed Michaela as the referee. You can actually see the crowd and they clap too when acknowledging a good shot plus there's ooohs and argghhs when you miss a shot. You can save the last five minutes of several games, you can buy upgrades with in-game points. The only thing you don't see is a physical opponent and there is no commentary but let's face it, you're not meant to hear commentary when you're on the floor playing a game anyway! Graphics are realistic and physics spot on. I certainly wouldn't by Snooker 19 at this price point and certainly not with these shit graphics!!

Personally I think it is an ok game, but not worth £30. A lot of bugs such as needing this black to win the frame, and there are still 14 reds and all the colours on the table. The mouse control, not sure if it is just me, but is akward, I much prefer playing using keyboard now as I found it 100 times easier. I have it installed on two PC's one a 22 inch monitor, the next a 60 inch TV. I find the 60 inch TV much more playable, I think it is because the pocket size will be bigger. However, on a 22 inch monitor I am not making the same shots as I do on my TV. The skill setting I find is pretty good, I am on easy mode at the moment, but the players are not that easy. If you give them a free table, they can and will clean up. However, they will also make mistakes. The player characters are hideous to be honest, despite them being scanned, I cannot recognise half the players, even though I am not a snooker fan, but I know Ronnie's face. The thing that I hate most is the 10 second shot timer. It just is not long enough, you might want to look around the table, you might want to try different balls. It needs to go. Snooker is not a rushed game. I downloaded this in the naughty way to test it out, am I interested in purchasing it legally? Yes,.but I might wait and see what happens when steam have a sale. 6/10 my rating.
WhAt I don’t like in career mode is when you enter a tournament you get a top 16 player I’ve played 9 lost 9 they love playing me lol
Who you play in tournaments depends on where you're ranked. Usually, #1 will play #128 or that sort of area. I would guess you chose to use a "rising star" who will be low ranked and will therefore always draw a top player. That's just how snooker works in real life.
Ok thanks it just seems strange how a the top 16 have to qualify for top tournament. The top 16 don’t qualify in real life ?

Ref calls 'foul and a miss' even when your opponent needs lots of snookers. Wrong.
Can't change your mind after selecting the colour you want after snookering yourself. Wrong.
3 consecutive fouls loses you the frame when you can't see both sides of the on ball. Wrong. Sigh
why is there only 1 skill level covering the worlds top 20 players? This means Ronnie plays like Lisowski...nonsense
I think there are multiple levels in-game, but they are not really visible and all players play the same...just maybe make less mistakes.
I was thinking this too. I know it's a low budget game and didn't have a massive team working on it like EA for example but, I thought they would have added some little quirks to each player. For example; Murphy is one of the best long potters and the best with the rest in real life but all the top 20 players are great with the rest and amazing at long pots.

Probably the best snooker game so far.. but it could've easily been so much more immersive. The graphics and character animations are very poor for 2020. The commentary is just terrible - potting 15 reds and blacks.. and then suggesting a safety shot? Should have more scripted commentary and facts about the players etc to avoid awkward silences (like Snooker 2007). Should also have more matches happening in the early rounds and random applause to distract you - maybe have a cutscene with players from the other table come over after a 147? There should also be pressure shots and momentum - so it's harder to get frame ball or the final black in a 147 etc. I think the actual mechanics of the game are excellent, but presentation is just not there.. which seems like the easiest part to get right when you've got access to literally everything on the world tour. The referee also needs to be constantly saying "settle down please"!

the carrer mode is bullshit. playing in on the lowest difficulty and YET the npcs plays like they are on fucking HARD!. that makes no sence. they have like 99.99% no faulticy in their shots. if you miss your shot you will sit like rest of the game watching the npc plop one ball in after another.
