    Thanks for the review. The finish of your handle is beautiful. I learned the hard way cutting from the side helps to keep you out of the dirt.

    Snow & Nealley has a rich history as a reputable axe and hand tool manufacturing company. Established in 1864 in Bangor, Maine, it earned a reputation for producing high-quality, durable tools.
    The company was well-known for its craftsmanship and the quality of steel used in its axes, making it a favorite among loggers, outdoorsmen, and others who required reliable tools. Snow & Nealley's axes were forged by hand and known for their durability and performance.
    In terms of ownership and operations, the company changed hands several times throughout its history. It faced challenges, including shifts in the market and changes in manufacturing technologies. However, the brand endured, and its tools continue to be sought after, though they're now often seen as collectibles and are appreciated by enthusiasts for their quality and craftsmanship.
    Although Snow & Nealley isn’t directly associated with the Amish, both the company and the Amish community share a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

      I have the outdoorsman belt axe. Amazing tool. Handle comes a little thick ut I usually tune them up anyways. It stays in my backpacking/hiking bag and its always my go to in the field. I've beat the hell out of it and it stays nice and sharp WAY longer than some of my others.

    Can you pretty please make a video of you splitting wood with a Mueller plastic sledge and aluminum twist wedge? I'd also like to learn if those Mueller plastic sledges can withstand cold weather pounding as well. Does Mueller provide a temp rating for their sledges?
    Thanks for the vids and website. Y'all should come up north for winter vacation. You can extend you daily swing time with all those axes you have without sweating to death. You can leave your sweet tea at home too and drink ice cold beer all day without getting dehydrated.

    What is the measurement from the very tip of the nearest corner of the heel to the left-top edge of the palm swell? And what is the circumference of the handle midway between where the handle enters the eye of the head and the butt?

    Nice axe! How does it compare to the Husqvarna Carpenters axe? I know that the Snow and Nealley has a round face and the Husky has a flat face, but otherwise how do they compare?

    • @wisementrading
      @wisementrading  4 года назад +1

      I don't have a Husqvarna Carpenters to compare it to, but would if I did.

      No comparison when it comes to the comfortable hamdle of the snow and neally

      I'd go with the snow and nealley personally I swing two of them and they are TOUGH. Honestly I think the Husqvarna are highly overrated. Even my Council Tool axes are just as good a quality as a Husqvarna at half the price.

    Is the sheath welted?

  • @NGMonocrom
    @NGMonocrom 2 года назад +1

    I'm sorry but no. Their leather sheaths are no where near quality. Speaking from experience. I own Snow & Neally axes.
    I don't mind that their axe sheaths are distressed leather. I mind that they are incredibly thin with no welt. Their rivets are some of the worst I've ever seen on an axe sheath. The last Snow & Neally axe I received came with the top portion of the sheath cut open on one side from the axe head. Thankfully a piece of stiff, thin cardboard cut to size, some industrial strength glue, and one of my best clamps had the sheath back to functional status in 2 hours. Still, not something that would be required on a truly quality axe sheath.
    The Topper? They actually stamped their "Our Best" logo onto the sheath. If that's their best.... The axes are a different story. But if the sheath is important, you'll have to purchase a custom one from an independent Leather worker if you truly want a quality sheath.
