    I am Mrs. Macci and I had to smile when I heard you call it cowboy coffee. When I grew up in Germany in the 1940s and 50s my family made their coffee this way every morning. How my mother would have liked hearing it called cowboy coffee and here we lived in a small town in Upper Franconia in nortern Bavaria.

    Congrats on the sponsor, it's great to see small business grow (and a RUclips channel is as much of a business as anything else). Everyone loves a good cup of coffee.

      Thank you and yes I definitely treat my YT channel as a small business and great to see things moving forward. Sometimes it can seem like a lot of work for little reward, so when opportunities like this come along it really makes it worth it.

    I enjoy very much your videos - especially love seeing the dogs out in nature and some of the instructional aspects (ex. splitting wood and chainsaw use). When it comes to coffee, I've been practicing this for years. I roast my own beans and kind of have the brewing down to a science. Immersion (like Cowboy coffee or French press) is a fantastic way to extract the coffee. When the outcome is important (and an outstanding cup of coffee certainly qualifies), attention to details is key. The coarseness of the grind (I use a burr grinder on fine setting), temperature of the water (205 F), ratio of water to coffee (I'm brewing 13 grams water per gram of coffee) and duration (4 minutes) all make a huge difference in the taste. I don't know what to make of bringing it back up to a boil. Generally speaking, the colder the water is during extraction, the less acidic it will be. In the summer I cold brew coffee (in fridge for 24 hours) and it is the least acidic coffee I've had. Anyhow, thanks for all the great conent and keep up the good work!!

  • @lancebrown4857
    @lancebrown4857 4 года назад

    Jason, you can also take a burning stick or piece of kinling that is burning on one end and imures it into the boiling coffee and all the grounds will go to the bottom of the pot and STAY there. It doesn't effect the flavor either. Pour with care and enjoy! I really enjoy your videos and Love the Life style.

    the magic is that your lower the temperature with 5-10 degrees in just 2-3 sec. That makes the coffee beans drop to the bottom very fast.
    But you pore in too much cold water - you just have to drop in 3-4 teespoons of cold water.

    Frothy, brothy coffee 😊
    Real cowboys pull off a sock to filter out the grinds. Er, that's what's I've been told, anyhow.
    But its great to see someone collaborating and producing good products in line with your channel.
