I have been watching lots of these episodes recently. There are other rules that are never mentioned on the show but maybe they are explained off camera? You can’t use any part of the word in your clue included abbreviated words: you can’t use “CD” for the word “disc” because it’s one of the words. You can’t give # of letters on word. You can’t say “rhymes with” for your clue. (So “sounds like” is probably out as well.) I am not a fan of Meredith explaining the rules (I skip them every time), but I do wish these would be mentioned.

I'm not being mean; I'm just being honest & logical. That was her own damned fault. Rules are rules, and you are supposed to keep track of how many clue words you have left. Plain & simple, she blew it. Heck, she didn't even need to use that many words to convey the concept to her teammates. A simple "department store dummy" or sometimes like that would probably have been sufficient.

For example, U r not allowed to give clues like "rhymes with..." Legal clues are conceptual. Illegal clues describe the structure of the answer itself. Come to think of it though... 🤔💭 I'm trying to remember if I ever saw a player get away with "2 words" as a clue. I'm not sure off the top of my head 'cause I don't trust my memory 100% these days.
