I will say Jordan, I picked one up for washing car parts, mainly engine parts. All in all it works VERY good. Sure it’s no high pressure parts washer but still does a very nice job. Especially for plastic/rubber parts.

I'm hoping to use this for washing fan/air conditioner grills. Should save a lot of time on cleanup projects.

Well hopefully with a small repair, this would make for a great add to the collection and possibly the replacement for the GE dishwasher. If you can get it fixed, I would like to see a cleaning be done with some fan guards and see how they would turn out.

The objective is to use this for cleaning fan guards.

@@JordanU Knowing that this was produced in the final year or so when Whirlpool still had somewhat decent quality, this should work well. Only a test will prove that opinion right. Look forward to the repair video and installation if it gets to that point.

That loose part is part of the float switch. I don’t think it’s broken, it just needs to be put back in the location it fell out of. With this not in place the dishwasher doesn’t know it’s empty.

That was my guess as well. It should be all the way down on the post, which lets the solenoid open when called for water and once it reaches a predetermined level, it cuts out, turning off the water solenoid.

Maybe that's why the drain pump cycled on and off a few times.

Clearly I need to learn more about how dishwashers work.

@@JordanU by the same token, I’ve learned a lot about fans, electronics, air conditioners through your very educational videos. You make learning fun.

@@JordanU Does that dishwasher have an electrical schematic anywhere inside?
(If not, I guess you'll have to find one on the Internet.)

Is that a Bosch you have in your kitchen now? What’s wrong with it? I have a 10 year old Bosch that works great.

Same here, still have a Bosch that is still going for almost 12 years now. It’s the same model that Jordan still has. Replaced an older Kenmore that was installed back in 2002 when the my house was built. Oddly enough the Kenmore that we had originally was a peice of crap and never could clean the dishes well. Since we got the Bosch it’s been great. Needs a service as the grease that is used for the lid lock needs to be removed and serviced. Right now it’s a pain to open the door since the peg that is used to hold the door in is refusing to move since either the spring or the grease is not allowing it to move right now. Otherwise no complaints!
