Thank you for reacting to this band. They're just beginning to take the world by storm. They toured the US last summer and just wrapped up a tour of Europe. They sold out every show on both tours. I would recommend "Reminiscence". Not an original of theirs, but where they homage to a Korean rock band popular back in the '70s. Its a beautiful song and really showcases what Jayoung can do with her voice!
Thank you for your Rolling Quartz reaction. I follow them since they started putting music videos on RUclips during the pandemic in 2019 and it is great watching them ‘evolve’. Also to see them living up to the motto “Rock Will Never Die” by pushing rock in Sth Korea in the age of K-pop is amazing. I join in with @snakewhisperer1 (previous comment) in recommending their total remake of Sanullim’s Reminiscence. According to Kim changhoon , the original songwriter, quote: “You made up for the regrets of the original” and “If the original is 4 stars, the Rolling Quartz version is 5 stars”.
Cute Korean girls playing proper rock & roll? YES! And I saw them play live in London just a few weeks ago and it was one of the best concerts I've been to; they sung a great mix of their own singles/MVs and covers, even by Metallica and Accept! Wow. They look great and have loads of energy. The drummer is little gem(pardon the pun) and the lead vocalist is also excellent on keyboards. MV's; Holler, Azalea and Pink Drop(Pink Venom, an insane energy-packed cover) are my favourites, but they are all high quality.
They sound great. They have done a few live streams on RUclips where you can get a sense of their personalities and their live performance abilities. These girls are genuine, down-to-earth, real people. They don't have any bad songs so you can just point, click, and win.
Korea has mostly killed it in Pop, Japan mostly in rock. But RQ are carrying the torch for Korea in Rock. They have improved enormously since they first came on the scene.
