Well, this was an interesting one... switched things up and fished the reservoirs instead of the streams... was half expecting nothing, but was shocked to not only catch some fish, but some dang big fish!

1st Thank for taking us along with you. You've been doing well with the trout on the watershed.
Can I make 1 recommendation? Downsize all your lures. You would get alot more hits and a lot more takes!
Typically 1/8 and under. Especially when Rainbows are around.
    Absolutely Gorgeous Brown
    Nice Small Mouth also

Valid point! Yeah, I do like fishing light… I suppose it’s a toss up between finesse and covering ground. Fishing the heavier weight allows for further casts ( accessing deep water) and sinking quicker. Thanks for the feedback and comment!

It appears you are at Kensico Reservoir. I go there a lot and never catch anything. Do you have any tips? That was an amazing trout.

Good stuff dude. I've been there before thinking I'm hooked on a brown until it jumped and it was a nice smallie last winter haha. Ultimate mind fuck....

For sure, one of the crazy things about fishing deep water in the winter!

Love your videos. Great catch! Which reservoir? Kensico? I have a row boat at kensico and access to a row boat at croton. Thanks for all the great content!

Thanks for the kind words! I don’t want to name drop the specific body of water in the comments (not that it’s a secret) but I’ll wager that it’s a lake you’ve fished! Must be nice to have boat access to both of those prime spots!

Haha, I wish… unfortunately you’re not allowed to bring outside boats into the NYC drinking water reservoirs… only pre-registered row boats

If only they had a state operated wash/ inspection station like they do in the Adirondacks.

Haha, I know right! I’d be yaking the nyc reservoirs if they had such a system!
