You are way smarter than 99.99999% of all the machinist in the world, if someone is questioning what or how your doing something its only because they either don't understand why they are asking the question or trying to troll you. As an experienced machinist I have yet to question a single thing I've seen in any one of your videos.
    Thank you for sharing!!!

When the goofball commenters (not Tyler) have built a big CNC shop, then sold it - then maybe they have creds to comment. These jokers commenting would have trouble hiring and keeping a handful of guys.

Hi Peter, Nil Desperandum. We all know there is more than one way to skin a cat. I have been doing this stuff for over 40 years, and I can tell you that you are a Master at what you do. Sure Titan and his crew ( not a fan), can knock out a decent part, but you work with what you have, and that my friend is what makes a tradesman, keep up the good work, best wishes, Mal.

What Titans of CNC do basically is product placement with their videos, and ofc in them you see nothing more than perfection, because that's what and how you do when you have to promote a tool, a machine or both. 100% sure they make stupid mistakes too, and not always everything and everybody are 101% efficient. Reality is what is behind the camera, not in front of.

    Hey Peter,
Can you speak a little bit about how the MRZP works on your Mazak? I'm curious on the accuracy of the Mazak's Dynamic Work Offset (G254 equivalent on Haas) and TCPC (G234 equivalent on Haas) and how happy you are with its performance (despite being a bit of an older machine & control). Does Mazak allow for full simultaneous 5axis cutter compensation? I ask because I'm currently struggling with my Haas VF3 + TR210 trunnion not having the ability to apply cutter compensation within full simultaneous 5-axis motion - Haas just doesn't have this feature.
    Thanks!

Peter, I honestly wonder how many RUclips "experts" are an "expert" because they have watched a couple of RUclips machining videos, and parrot back what they heard the guy in his garage say in those videos, but they have never personally been near any form of machine tool fancier than a hand drill.
I especially wonder this about all the OSHA Inspectors that scream to the heavens when they watch a video of some Pakistani guy sweeping a floor, and not wearing steel toed shoes, tethered fall arrest harness, gloves, face shield, respirator, and hard hat with the chin strap tightened. I'd lay pretty good odds that they don't know that OSHA isn't a UN police organization that monitors and fines the whole world.

Whatever speeds and feeds work for you is all that matters. All depends on setup and machine rigidity and spindle horsepower etc. It’s will never be the same from shop to shop or from machinist to machinist. Love your work immensely. Just got an integrex of my own at our shop with no training and the first thing I did was start watching your videos all over again. You saved me and my shop by putting your knowledge out there. It’s not just entertainment, it’s educational for everyone and if anyone wants to tell you you’re wrong, it means is that they haven’t truly figured it out for themselves. Keep up the great work and I’ll see you in the next video!

Not to brag, but being good at what I do in my work always drew a lot of jealousy. I think a lot of it was the fact that I really enjoyed my work and there was always someone who wanted to spoil that for me, to take it away and have it for themselves. I wish everyone enjoyment and satisfaction in their work. They say that misery enjoys company. As such I learned very early on to not take those people seriously. But just the 5 axis on the horn is 2600 K even with the tolerance set to .003” on it. To get a decent finish on this kind of cycle. I usually set this at .0005”. They eat alone at tea break and spend all there work day alone all so and can run the hole company better than the boss but for some reason they are still on the shop floor ? Your doing just fine with out showing of one little bit

Very cool! You going to IMTS? I will be there every day. Come by the Syil Booth if you do and say hi. Are these the 50k subscriber anvils? They look fantastic!

No I won’t be going to IMTS. Yes these are those anvils. They might be the 100k ones by the time they are done though?

Comon-man! Everyone loves you, respects you, admires you, its why we all watch! Don't let a couple of debbie-downers fool you! You are the first machinest I've ever seen who isn't a butcher, not running down anyone, brute force has a place, and in the end, a job well done gives us all Cheer, but YOU are a maestro, doing cutting edge stuff, NO ONE has ever seen before. Don't forget that brother! People are in AWE of you!

Thanks craftycri? I don't make comments like this because of a lack of confidence in my ability. It's more to let people (The people I'm referring to are the ones who can't resist making those comments.) know of what I'm presenting. All I can do is show what I have learned over the years. I'm not in some kind of competition with them, on what I know, or how I do things. If they want to be an expert then so be it. I don't care.

Did someone really comment that you don't know what you're doing? naaaaaaah no way, really? In public with their real name? Brother, that's the only way they'll get any attention, other than stepping in dog poo. As my son says, if they're hating on you, you're doing something right.

Lol.. 2Mb of ram ... we ran a bank on a Systems36 in the 90s, you're lucky to get an I Frame of video that small these days. Should be able to address more than 2MB and add more ram.. perhaps compressing G-code too.

Great content!! Been folllowing you without posting anything for a long time.
This has nothing to do with the video but I have been asking myself this question for a while; what software do you use for your CAD and CAM software ?
Thanks for what you offer you content.

For my cad I use SpaceClaim. For the cam I use Esprit TNG for the Mazak and Esprit 2000 for the Mitsubishi horizontal mill.

Shut off the comments. Problem solved. When you want ideas turn on comments on. What ever you do Keep making vids!

    • @EdgePrecision
      @EdgePrecision  2 года назад

I don't want to give the idea that I don't want comments. I do! If people have questions or legitimate critiques, I welcome the conversation. To me anyway. When I see a channel with the comments disabled on a video. It seems a bit cowardly of the presenter. The only reason I made this little rant (will call it) is. I don't want to appear like I'm saying I know everything in my videos and you must be the person that is wrong if you don't agree. But for some reason these people that make comments like these think were in some kind of competition. This I don't like. If they want to be the expert then so be it. I will let history decide.

The camera picks up all kinds of noise from the machine. I try to put a denoise filter on in some places. To get rid of some intense noise. Also the video is speed up a lot. I think the denoise filter doesn’t work or misinterprets the speed up sound track that I mark as, don’t change the tone. Otherwise it sounds like speed up audio. This whole thing with sound in the machine is very difficult. Do you for instance notice when I have the camera stuck to the spindle (the clips moving with the cut). How the sound from the spindle is transmitted thru the cameras mount. I try to equalize it. But it is difficult. I spend a lot of time on the sound. And still can’t get it right. So I at sometime have to say. That’s enough and just post it.

2401 lines 0.5 step down short prg,,,,, normal 49977 lines .. just ac segment goes bigger from maby 1000 small segments to 10 -15 its just a cirkel brake in segments .. just a quick test that i can do it

There may be newer machines that can do different interpolated paths like splines or something of that nature. This machine doesn’t have those options. But with 5axis tool path there is no plane of arcs. All axi are moving at once. So generally it’s small segments.

If it means anything to you, I just subscribed. Been watching you, in the background, for quite some time. LOVE the content and/or explaination! I wonder if these know-it-alls ever consider the differences in machines, that can/could alter the finnish: Age, rigidity, tool harmonics, has the machine been crashed causing minute slop, hell, even the sharpness/geometry of the tool.... None-the-less, keep up the amazing work Bro, and try to just ignore the fools, ja? Cheers!

great video as always, by the way about the comments that you mentioned in the start of the video: i see perfectionist that is mentioning few questionable comments among hundreds of other great comments, exactly like you did at the end of the video, you mentioned the 0.1% of the finish that needs correction but in reality 99.9% of the finish of the anvil is perfect.
