You are way smarter than 99.99999% of all the machinist in the world, if someone is questioning what or how your doing something its only because they either don't understand why they are asking the question or trying to troll you. As an experienced machinist I have yet to question a single thing I've seen in any one of your videos. Thank you for sharing!!!
When the goofball commenters (not Tyler) have built a big CNC shop, then sold it - then maybe they have creds to comment. These jokers commenting would have trouble hiring and keeping a handful of guys. Most all of us are so glad to have your view into super high end machining. Take Care.
The vast majority of his viewers are experienced machinists or tool makers themselves. And yet they come here to learn. Just imagine being Peters coworker for just 1-2 years. You would be a different machinist.
There are always people who will tell you how to spend your money. And some will be happy to tell you everything you do wrong. I like to watch your videos not for the things I do. But for the things I dont do, I learn from you and others by finding what is different. I am grateful for the effort you put into your work. I own my own shop and for many years I have worked alone. And then you only learn from your own mistakes. Reaching out to other online helps me expand what I do and your videos about how you use your Mazak really changed how I thought about those machines. Thanks. Charles
Peter, I have been doing machine work for over 40 years, and have worked around good machinist, you are very impressive, anybody that will criticize anything you do is not worth paying any attention to, keep up the good work, I learn something every time I watch you
I see that my comment is the same as most other viewers, but Peter, You are undoubtedly the best machinist, and teacher of logic behind tool choice and patterns. I sincerely appreciate your content and I use your videos as examples in teaching kids at our local school. RESPECT!!
i think your probably one of the best machinist ive seen! I think everyone problem is they see titan do all this high speed machining make the machine go as fast as it can, its overrated! They don't realizes titan gets his tools pretty much for free that's why he can do that. I appreciate all the videos and work you put into them peter!
Hi Peter, Nil Desperandum. We all know there is more than one way to skin a cat. I have been doing this stuff for over 40 years, and I can tell you that you are a Master at what you do. Sure Titan and his crew ( not a fan), can knock out a decent part, but you work with what you have, and that my friend is what makes a tradesman, keep up the good work, best wishes, Mal.
What Titans of CNC do basically is product placement with their videos, and ofc in them you see nothing more than perfection, because that's what and how you do when you have to promote a tool, a machine or both. 100% sure they make stupid mistakes too, and not always everything and everybody are 101% efficient. Reality is what is behind the camera, not in front of.
exactly.. I have done mechanical work for 40 years, with manual and cnc machines, we had to find clever ways to do things, we had to use the old worn out tools but it always worked out ok
I would say what Peter does is what an actual machine shop looks like. I would call titan a Hollywood machinist. Not to take away from what he does I learned plenty from his academy. However very few of us get brand new machines and top of the line tooling we have to make the best out of what we have
You can't worry about people on the internet because the person being critical most of the time has as much experience as you have forgotten over the years of machining you have. Anyone who wants to learn how to do it right should be watching you because it works. Just don't worry about it and don't give them the time of day because it truth that's what they are looking for. The one thing you'll notice is that as soon as you acknowledge something they said made you address them, it invites more of it! You do you and that far and above what anyone of us can expect. You don't have to take the time showing us all your experience you have developed over the years but you do and I for one want to tell you it is appreciated. keep up the great work I know it's not easy to make these videos. Love your work.
Bro, screw those guys. You are a true machinist! Don’t let them get you down. I’ve been watching you for years now and I’m continually learning something from you. Whatever speeds and feeds work for you is all that matters. All depends on setup and machine rigidity and spindle horsepower etc. It’s will never be the same from shop to shop or from machinist to machinist. Love your work immensely. Just got an integrex of my own at our shop with no training and the first thing I did was start watching your videos all over again. You saved me and my shop by putting your knowledge out there. It’s not just entertainment, it’s educational for everyone and if anyone wants to tell you you’re wrong, it means is that they haven’t truly figured it out for themselves. I used to teach college students in a manufacturing processes lab and they all claim to know it all until they’re put on the spot. You talk the talk and walk the walk. Keep up the great work and I’ll see you in the next video! P.s. if you want to go more in depth with the integrex setups, I wouldn’t judge! I need all the help I can get with our new machine! Cheers!
Peter you have helped more people than you realize. Just think about all of those young people watching your vetoes. Seeing how complex jobs are really done. Some of those complex parts would scare probably 90% of machinist in the whole country. Thanks for making all of those vetoes.
For every one of the 'know it all' types, there's 100 of us that actually work in the trade who hold you in very high regard Peter. Don't ever forget that, don't let the idiots discourage you.
I don’t comment on a lot of videos, but I wanted to on this one. I have learned a ton from the things you show in your videos, especially around work holding and indicating. I’m thankful for any knowledge that you share. It didn’t cost me anything but a little time, and that time has always been well spent watching what you have to say. I’m sorry that you preemptively feel like you have say what you did about this video. It’s one of the reasons that sometimes I am hesitant to show video content machining parts on my channel. Every seems to be an expert when they comment on what we show in the videos, yet they have nothing on their channels. Thanks for all the great content over the years.
I find it interesting that the most talented tradesmen, the most capable, seem to get the most haters whether its out in the working world or in youtube videos. Not to brag, but being good at what I do in my work always drew a lot of jealousy. I think a lot of it was the fact that I really enjoyed my work and there was always someone who wanted to spoil that for me, to take it away and have it for themselves. I wish everyone enjoyment and satisfaction in their work. They say that misery enjoys company. As such I learned very early on to not take those people seriously. In fact I tend to pity them for not finding these things in themselves, but rather comparing themselves to other people. Please keep on doing what you're doing. I appreciate you and your contribution to the rest of us.
I’ve only been in the trade for a few years and I feel like I learn so much with every video of yours I watch. Much more so than any other machinist channel I’ve seen. Keep the videos coming! Your knowledge in the trade is very greatly appreciated
It takes very little effort to point out what is wrong. I don't pay attention to criticism unless the messenger says "let me show you" or let me help you". I then know the individual is trying to make me better at what i do. Your videos are great Peter. I have learned a ton from you. Please keep making them.
I think your videos are great especially the fixtures and programming. I’m thinking of buying a large 5axis machine and enjoy watching your ops. Thanks for the content!
I truly appreciate your expertise and watching your videos. Your insight on your machining/ programing strategies are something I can always learn from . Thanks for sharing your knowledge and videos !!
You are the legend of machining between our friends. Even the mazak has the worst control unit you rock with that machine. I can not imagine if you had the latest hightech machines. Keep posting. We will be watching.
Don't sell yourself short, your way of doing things has gotten you this far, farther than allot of other people. It's easy to be a monday morning quarter back, its a whole different thing to actually do it, not to mention put out the video for everyone to see. As a younger guy in the trade your videos have been incredibly informative and interesting to watch. Nobody else on youtube does what you do, I think that in and of itself should speak to the value of your work, and the skill and effort that has gone into it.
Pay them no heed I am sure the overwhelming amount of people like myself enjoy your videos for what they are and anyway like you said if they don't like it they don't have to watch, I follow several machinists and everyone of them have said the exact same thing you have said, it's not necessarily the right way to do something but it's your way to do it and that should be good enough for anyone. Thanks for the time and effort that you put into these videos.
Keep up the good work Peter! My father and I are your big fans. You pull off unimaginable things with the Mazak. I am awe struck with your programming skills with the Numroto. Thanks for sharing.
It is sad to see, people trying to school you on your machine, which they don't work with. Personaly i watch your videos because i want to learn new fixtures techniques/ order of operations. Don't let anyone tell you how to do your job. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for saying what we are all thinking! Peter, keep up the great work and I’ll keep appreciating your content as it is and for what it is. That’s why I started following you in the first place.
Ignore the negative comments Peter. The level of work you do speaks for itself and if you couldn’t do it your wouldn’t get that work. I think sadly that a lot of people work in environments where they have bosses that yell at them if they don’t do things a certain way and eventually they wind up thinking that’s the only way.
Comon-man! Everyone loves you, respects you, admires you, its why we all watch! Don't let a couple of debbie-downers fool you! You are the first machinest I've ever seen who isn't a butcher, not running down anyone, brute force has a place, and in the end, a job well done gives us all Cheer, but YOU are a maestro, doing cutting edge stuff, NO ONE has ever seen before. Don't forget that brother! People are in AWE of you!
Thanks craftycri? I don't make comments like this because of a lack of confidence in my ability. It's more to let people (The people I'm referring to are the ones who can't resist making those comments.) know of what I'm presenting. All I can do is show what I have learned over the years. I'm not in some kind of competition with them, on what I know, or how I do things. If they want to be an expert then so be it. I don't care.
I love your work and I would rather learn from someone that is selfless then someone that is selfish thanks for posting and teaching those who want to learn
Peter, thank you for another great video. I enjoy them immensely and it's a pleasure to watch your artistry and skills at work and play. To harden the surface, just eat a lot of garlic and breathe on it ! Cheers
It really bothers me that people would get my favorite machinist in this kind of mood. Peter has more skill and ingenuity than anyone I've heard call themselves machinist.
Well, if they all want to make comments then they all should make a tube video and show it...as far as I'm concerned the feeds and speeds info tool mfg. give is just a baseline...as you know you can have two pieces of 6160 aluminum from the same bar stock and they can cut and finish totally different from one another... As with yourself, given the book given the machine and a 45 min. tutorial video start spitting out parts...so I myself have learned a lot from you and a couple others. I appreciate the time and efforts you put into these tutorials... I grew up old school and it has been a big change programming and running CNC equipment without formal education...So thank you and keep educating....
Brilliant as always Peter. I believe in the person that does, not the armchair expert who doesn’t. You do and I have great respect. Thanks for your honest content.
Love your videos. I recently discovered your channel, and I'm working my way through your back catalog. I want to buy a cnc mill one day, so I'm learning everything I can through channels like yours. Most of the Internet is a cesspool, but the RUclips machinist community is by and large the rare exception where people share their work and help each other for the love of the craft. Please keep doing what you do. Nolite bastardes carborundorum!
Your channel speaks for itself... the comments...it's easy to sit on the keyboard and give explanations to the whole world... you do and it makes a big difference... Beautiful...one for me please🤩
Beautiful anvil!!! I really love your videos, thank you for sharing these projects. I am an amateur blacksmith with a deep love for anvils. You have a great sense of style, really great proportions and lines with this one. Bravo!
Why would someone comment in criticism of your methods? Makes no sense whatsoever. Peter sure seems extremely knowledgeable with his machines. If you don't like it don''t watch.
Amen. I had a long rant to give as well, but in the machining world and trades, it seems that if you are some what effective, there are those that want to “tear down” rather than help build.
Great video! I love watching these videos because I run basically the same machine but the Mori version. I really appreciate learning from you on these because I have nobody at my company to teach me. Don’t worry about the negative comments, that reflects their insecurity and you don’t have to deal with that. Thanks for sharing! And glad to see more videos coming out. :)
In my experience people who feel like they have to prove that how good they are or try to tell you how good they are are normally the worst. I have started to watch your videos a few years ago and I have subscribed to your channel because I have found it interesting the way you work and you do things. You didn’t try to tell us how good you are not even once. But you have lots of experience and I have learned a lot from you. Some of the things you do I never even heard about it before. So what I would like to say is keep up the good work and we would like to see much more videos from you. Thanks.
don't change , you are good and I always learn something from your videos. you work more like a manual machinist but on CNC and sounds confusing but you probably understand. your skill set is light years away from others CNC guys I'm trying to learn. let them say whatever and keep on doing the good work
What an awesome result 👍 Watching that machine work is mesmerizing no matter how many times I see it👌 Super cool. Thank you for taking extra time to video all this🙂
Your videos are my favorite machining videos. I do enjoy your videos but I mainly watch them to learn from you. I know it's hard but you should do your best to ignore the 5% or less of haters and make videos that the 95% will appreciate. I would really appreciate you putting your speeds and feeds on because it shows some good starting points for my future reference. Really I just appreciate you being you so I'll take any videos you want to put out. :)
You the man Peter! Anyone who knows what's up knows spending hours refining toolpaths on a one-off not for profit part is a waste of time. The only ppl that would do that are the ones that think they need to prove something, which you certainly do not.
I used to also make 'random' parts on the weekends simply to learn new skills and test ideas. Tooling is expensive when you're doing it for fun and so you make do with what you have and maybe buy a single tool.
I totally agree it as if some just have to comment to be noticed. You continue and enjoy what one does, as do I as that's all that matters. Take care. Its fascinating to me a ballet in 3D machining.
You know most of us just enjoy your videos full stop but il bet you all those perfect machining commentors don't have a youtube channel but just can't help themselves but criticize I luv the content please keep up the good work u doing an awesome job....
You are doing a great job Peter. Any of these lizard internet critics should show us their you tube channel and how they do it. Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen.
Read a quote from Ricky Gervais recently that I think might apply to the keyboard warriors. “It’s better to create something that others criticise than to create nothing and criticise others” I really enjoy this channel and hope you continue to make entertaining content for all of us.
Hey Peter, Thank you for showing your job. Can you to me a favor and tell me what kind off machine your MAZAK is and what control you got. Thank you so much in advance. Stay healthy
Don't listen to those ignorant people. I like your videos I learn a lot. And you know a lot. I would like to know everything you know. Keep making videos. from Chelmsford Massachusetts
great video as always, by the way about the comments that you mentioned in the start of the video: i see perfectionist that is mentioning few questionable comments among hundreds of other great comments, exactly like you did at the end of the video, you mentioned the 0.1% of the finish that needs correction but in reality 99.9% of the finish of the anvil is perfect. Thank you for sharing!
@Steve Watkins at Work has a great interface for his low memory cnc mill. He has a usb compatible drive that replaces the 3.5" floppy disk drive. I don't know if that's what you meant by 'drip feed'..... he seems very happy with it. The reason I love your channel is because of your amazing knowledge and outstanding machining. Edge Precision is a very apt name. Thanks for all your time put into showing us how it should be done! great job Peter.
My machine has a network connection to my laptop. Those floppy to usb devises don’t exactly work the way you may think. (I have one on this machine). It replaces the floppy drive but the volume stays the same as the original floppy drive. So whatever the original floppy disk had is all you can access on the usb stick. I can send over the network cable at faster speed then a usb connection. But there is no way (that I know) to run a drip feed over a network connection. This machine does not have a serial port. It didn’t need it because of the network connection.
@Edge Precision, I AM NOT SAYING DO THIS, however could it be somehow cost effective to upgrade or replace the control? I know some of that stuff costs a house just for the main board.
@@EdgePrecision I transfer to my 2004 hurco using rs232 via a dnc software. It’s fine for what I do, but larger programs can take along time to transfer. Since I usually do job shop one off parts it works for me. Love you stuff. Learn something new every video.
@@tedsaylor6016 There may be a way to increase the memory the machine runs programs on. What is a bit strange on this machine is. The operating system is Windows. There are different folders where I can store programs. There is a backup folder where I can put as many programs as I want. Up to the capacity of the hard drive I suppose? But the folder where the machine runs of of somehow is different, or maybe there is a memory not seen on the windows computer? What is strange is there is a folder where the auto programs can be seen (In the windows directory). But there seems to be a limit on their size. I don't know how this can be?
I for one really enjoy the videos of a more practical nature since I'm much more likely to be able to apply it. Though everything else has been extremely inspiring. It's so cool to see a master problem solver get to actually use the tools you have they way they could be used and not the way some penny pinching corporation dictates.
Hey Peter, Can you speak a little bit about how the MRZP works on your Mazak? I'm curious on the accuracy of the Mazak's Dynamic Work Offset (G254 equivalent on Haas) and TCPC (G234 equivalent on Haas) and how happy you are with its performance (despite being a bit of an older machine & control). Does Mazak allow for full simultaneous 5axis cutter compensation? I ask because I'm currently struggling with my Haas VF3 + TR210 trunnion not having the ability to apply cutter compensation within full simultaneous 5-axis motion - Haas just doesn't have this feature. Thanks!
Probably missed it but how practical is that anvil? Looks great but not heavy iron or steel?? Assuming it's a exercise in technique or trying something different from your regular work pieces. Anyway it's always great to see how you approach these projects. Like everyone has said before you've got real skills!!
No worries about you rants, friend. I enjoy learning from what you do. Not sure if there is ever 100% correct answer on feeds and speeds. I enjoy seeing what works for you.
Boss, anyone saying you don't know machining is a damn fool. My comments were always meant to be just another bit of info that someone might see and find helpful.
The larger tool in the beginning is a Tungaloy 3.00" dia. feedmill Their insert SQMU1206ZSR-MJ AH130. The s]maller Feedmill is a 7/8" dia. Mitsubishi it's insert JOMW080320ZZSR-FT VP30RT. The other tools were just standard endmills.
I'm always super careful to clean all the chips from my clothing before coming back into the house but a few seem to make it in every time. I laughed in the opening of your video when I saw a big one stuck to the back of your shirt. I thought, "that sneaky bugger is going home with him!"
@5:14 the flash of the cad model in the part was really cool, I had to go back to see if it was really there or if I had just picked up on a curious reflection or something :) Thanks for doing the editing Peter, and some of us have been fantasizing about these anvils since the start of the project. P.s. when will we get some video of the Hotel work?

Your videos are very valueable to me! Thank you!
Peter, thank you for another great video. I enjoy them immensely and it's a pleasure to watch your artistry and skills at work and play. To harden the surface, just eat a lot of garlic and breathe on it ! Cheers
Thanks for your videos. I find your work very inspirational.
My wife absolutely did not understand why I started giggling when the 5 axis cutting started on the horn.
Very interesting. Thanks for taking the time to film and edit it and for posting it. Those anvils that you made are awesome!
good video peter..thanks for your time and very good job
Peter your work is realy amazing. Your video work and Sharing is also top stuff. And Damm I won't one of those Anvils.
Thanks!
I really enjoy your videos and really appreciate the fact that you take the time to explain what you doing . Keep it up!
Thanks.
Best cnc videos here absolutely. Would be interesting to see Fusion360 -> Mazak cam programming and machine settings needed.
I've watched for years and I've learned soo much from you. Keep up the good work.
don't change , you are good and I always learn something from your videos. you work more like a manual machinist but on CNC and sounds confusing but you probably understand. your skill set is light years away from others CNC guys I'm trying to learn. let them say whatever and keep on doing the good work
What an awesome result 👍 Watching that machine work is mesmerizing no matter how many times I see it👌 Super cool.
The only ppl that would do that are the ones that think they need to prove something, which you certainly do not.
good to see you're back onto these anvils... I've been checking the letter box every day just in case..
I used to also make 'random' parts on the weekends simply to learn new skills and test ideas. Tooling is expensive when you're doing it for fun and so you make do with what you have and maybe buy a single tool.
LMAO at anybody dumping on Peter. This man is first class, one of the few I look up to.
I'm slowly teaching myself cnc from the ground up and I'm always amazed with the vids and appreciate the time u take to make them thank u
I totally agree it as if some just have to comment to be noticed. You continue and enjoy what one does, as do I as that's all that matters. Take care.
Its fascinating to me a ballet in 3D machining.
Watching that High Feed mill was so satisfying!
Keep up the great work Peter! You are a great teacher of a difficult profession. Forget the morons that make negative comments.
You know most of us just enjoy your videos full stop but il bet you all those perfect machining commentors don't have a youtube channel but just can't help themselves but criticize I luv the content please keep up the good work u doing an awesome job....
Peter is very humble and he is an ace. Some people who comment don’t know and should piss off
All I’m gonna say is thank you for all the free knowledge your givein out I really appreciate it
You are doing a great job Peter. Any of these lizard internet critics should show us their you tube channel and how they do it. Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen.
Read a quote from Ricky Gervais recently that I think might apply to the keyboard warriors. “It’s better to create something that others criticise than to create nothing and criticise others”
I really enjoy this channel and hope you continue to make entertaining content for all of us.
Thanks for the video Peter.
Don't give the trolls the time of day.
You are THE MAN!
Suboptimal program or not, this is mesmerizing to watch.
Hey Peter,
Thank you for showing your job.
Can you to me a favor and tell me what kind off machine your MAZAK is and what control you got. Thank you so much in advance.
Stay healthy
The machine is a Integrex e650 H with a Fusion 640T pro control.
@@EdgePrecision thank you Peter. Great help.
Is there any way to get your hands on a bigger memory for the machine? And never forget that 99.99% of us here enjoys watching your videos.
I've done quite a bit of old school Machining, and you do just fine I wouldn't know where to start with a computer.
Don't listen to those ignorant people. I like your videos I learn a lot. And you know a lot. I would like to know everything you know. Keep making videos. from Chelmsford Massachusetts
I’m NOT a machinist but love your videos. Find these foolish comments sad. Keep up the exceptional work 👍👍👍
great video as always, by the way about the comments that you mentioned in the start of the video: i see perfectionist that is mentioning few questionable comments among hundreds of other great comments, exactly like you did at the end of the video, you mentioned the 0.1% of the finish that needs correction but in reality 99.9% of the finish of the anvil is perfect.
Thank you for sharing!
To be honest I'm quite amazed on the work you do
Awesome video like always Peter. Thanks for sharing. I’ve been wondering if I missed a video on the little anvil.
@@EdgePrecision ahhh I see. it was a bit daft of me to suggest it as if it was that simple you would've already done it... thanks for the reply
Awesome job, really liked the video.
I for one really enjoy the videos of a more practical nature since I'm much more likely to be able to apply it. Though everything else has been extremely inspiring. It's so cool to see a master problem solver get to actually use the tools you have they way they could be used and not the way some penny pinching corporation dictates.
Don't let negative comments bother you you're working and you're trying to educate people and they criticize criticize
You did very well..
I love watching your sharing don't listen to what others have to say..
do it right
Hey Peter,
Can you speak a little bit about how the MRZP works on your Mazak?
Just caught the part about hardening so I guess it's ok to use once treated. Just a bit small...
If you take a look at my playlist titled 50,000 sub anvils. You will see where these anvils came from.
@@EdgePrecision thanks for the history on this. Some lucky guys got a real treat!
You’re a master and a joy to watch. Keep it up.
Are these people mad you’ve forgot more about machining than most of them will ever know thanks for the vids I’ve watched all of them
**machines an anvil in one op**
RUclipsrs: "you don't know how to machine!"
Awesome job from start to finish
No worries about you rants, friend. I enjoy learning from what you do. Not sure if there is ever 100% correct answer on feeds and speeds. I enjoy seeing what works for you.
Bollocks to the naysayers Peter. We love you for what you are 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
The anvil is a work of art. 👍🏴
Lol, got to love those few expert youtube commenters.... leaving comments from their parents basement. Awesome video as always!
Boss, anyone saying you don't know machining is a damn fool. My comments were always meant to be just another bit of info that someone might see and find helpful.
You’re awesome dude, what inserts are those if you want to share
The larger tool in the beginning is a Tungaloy 3.00" dia. feedmill Their insert SQMU1206ZSR-MJ AH130. The s]maller Feedmill is a 7/8" dia. Mitsubishi it's insert JOMW080320ZZSR-FT VP30RT. The other tools were just standard endmills.
That first op just facing the crap out of it till its basically fully roughed out 👍
I'm always super careful to clean all the chips from my clothing before coming back into the house but a few seem to make it in every time.
We are going to Mexico in October. I will take some video then. Maybe if I have a good internet connection, I can even post something from Mexico.
Nice Job! Keep it up👍
