    math is much more than "using the pythagoras theorem" or when i grow up when am i going to use this, its all about logic and critical thinking. which is why many people value math including universities and for people to say why am i learning math its not like im going to use it i want to be a writer - i mean yeah sure you're not going to use it firsthand but you develop higher thinking skills through the process of math

    I don’t get how u got +3 from 2y=y-4+7? Can someone explain

    • @DoItForJawnee
      @DoItForJawnee 3 года назад

      If you simplify 2y=y-4+7, it will be 2y=y+3 (-4 + 7 = 3)

    • @Eat_Pi
      @Eat_Pi 3 года назад

      Great question!
      2y=y-4+7
      What does -4+7 equal? It's positive 3
      So simplified:
      2y=y+3
      Then move the y's to one side of the equal sign. Let's just move them to the left. So that means we need to move the y to the left side. Do that by subtracting y (or 1y, same thing) from both sides of the equation:
      2y=y+3
      -y -y
      2y-y is the same thing as 2y-1y which equals 1y, or just y. So u end up with:
      1y = 3 or
      Y = 3

    if you get rid of the "y" at the end of the problem solving then you do NOT get y = 3; you get 2 = 3. That makes absolutely no sense. if you get rid of y, you have to bring down the 2.
