I got to drop some comment: great review. I just purchased a Casio Edifice efs-s550 on resin strap- beautiful watch with solar and sapphire crystal. This review makes me wanna save up and get that real casio oak edifice. Its like a homage of AP Royal oak with less the money and less hassle on repair and maintenance. I agree on you because there is a gshock casio oak, but this one is more classy than the g shock model, which for me a bit juvenile. Edifice line up is kinda overshadowed by G shock, but yeah edifice produces really nice looking watches.
@Jase hard to say but if i had to choose I'd say the gun metal. the copper color detail makes the watch more interesting. and the darker gun metal shade suits both casual and formal attire. the silver however, looks more heavy if you're going for that firm look of the watch because silver color really reflects all that light out which makes it easier to spot those angles on the watch.
Great review and beautiful watch in the brush metal grey. Also in another video, they noticed the 2 screws at even and going in the same direction and a nice touch. Not sure if they are actual screw or if they are just for decoration.
Just received mine for an unbelievable price, the gun metal with the gold ring really pops, and of course this is the real Casioak. My only complain is that Casio should give us strap options. Casio should make a rubber\ silicon strap for this watch, or even aftermarket ones, that would be cool. I know it my only be me, and that they don't care, but I'm going to ask Casio. Can anyone suggest one that fits?

But confused on which colour to go for, The silver one or the grey one Grey one has a copper accent which i like , but will the ion planting fades away or losses its colour or easily scrates up . What about ur warch can u pls give me an update on that

I have both gun metal and all silver color and it's just perfect

Is there a difference in the lume? Because the silver has darker indices than the plated one...

Great Review. I like everything but the gold highlights and the faux screws. Lume is on point.
They also make a version without the gold
It's more of a copper highlight than gold, but the all steel version has less lume than this one.

Does this watch have perpetual calendar function? Or does the date require manual update every month?
Requires manual adjustment. The Edifice 1000 and 1100 series uses Bluetooth to ensure the dates are accurate.
Why doesn't Casio make their Oceanus models available in the United States?
I think they don't make it available just because of the bean counters feel it's not profitable
You can find Casio Oceanus in Amazon, but my God they are expensive. I think that Oceanus line up is pure JDM, just like my Seiko SARY057.
The Japanese have a special live for watches that has been lost to the smart watch fad of the last 5 years.
I believe the Edifice line is the international version of the Oceanus, even though the Oceanus quality is top-notch and the Edifice isn’t.

Silver probably more durable
The all silver, (steel) version has much weaker lume than this one.
