These are great. From a guy who’s owned Technics since a kid, these are very nice.
The have a nice feel to them, the motor has MORE torque than a mk2. Hold pitch well, respond well, arms are nice and sound great. The AT customer service is also spectacular.
What I don’t like, not as well isolated as a mk2, don’t feel as sturdy or heavy.
But, with the state of mk2’s now, I’d rather have these new than a beat up set of technics.
Thanks for your honest review! We've never put these directly head to head with a Technics mk2, so that's really good to know!
@@djkit technics are king, don’t get me wrong. I’d love a new set of MK2’s again, but I wouldn’t bother with the MK7 at all as they just aren’t like the originals. I’d rather have a really good Hanpin if I was spending MK7 money, like a PLX 1000.
But, I think the AT 140 are the BEST value for money; you can get two decks and maybe a mixer for the price of two PLX. Just remember, all are made by Hanpin in China, so we don’t know how long they’ll last. I certainly can’t see 30 year being possible as nothing is built as well as a MK2. But, in 30 years I’ll be an older man who won’t give a f about anything let alone some decks.
Enjoy them whilst they’re fresh, and enjoy great turntables.
i know this is 4 years old but joe france is hilarious
HI ! Nice presentation, but I want to ask you, because I'm looking for a device.
Does the Audio-Technica AT-LP140XP have an auto power off feature? Does the arm eventually return to normal? I couldn't find any video to watch it and I want to buy such a device.
A good day !
Hi, buttons are metal or plastic?
The more comments I see, the more I roll my eyes...
For what it's worth, in case this comment helps anyone... The LP140XP is not really a DJ turntable, but it is trying to. I would still recommend LP1240 for DJ and nightclub applications.
That being said, the LP140XP does make a very good HiFi turntable, especially since it DOESN'T have a preamp, OR USB for that matter. It also has a fully working anti-skate, and a very quiet motor. Meaning you can do just about anything to LP140XP, it is a proper, analogue turntable which needs appropriate receiver and/or preamp to work.
Speaking of mods, I do recommend however replacing the cartridge and/or stylus for something more HiFi oriented, along with replacing the mat for rubber one. Or if you want to stay on budget, simply replace the XP3 stylus for VM95E or better, it will fit the included XP cartridge just fine.
Really appricated for this information man, it helped me a lot!
Is it safe to play it in reverse? Will it do damage to the needle or record? Is playing in reverse only for scratch needles?
Went to order some audio technica Turntables, not available till October due to parts issues, so gone for some Stanton decks instead
Awesome video, thanx guys, just scooped one up, for my skratch game, yeehah!!!
Rock on!
Hi been considering getting a pair myself. May I ask how is the torque, is it enough for scratching and what about the tone arm, is it loose as I've heard or firm?
"I wouldn't give it to Qbert" quote of the year
At least he's honest! 😂
I'll be antousiaste if you doing a revu of SYNQ TURNTABLE a bit oldy but that be fair cause "I'm telling you right now" joke from the gomez lady plane. Cause it work very very well for nice price then I 'm serious.
OK hop you read this one see you mate I love UK.

Would it be possible to connect these with my Sonos Five?
Yes you can
Same oh, same oh!!
Hold on here! The LP120USB has been superseded by the LP120XUSB. This does remind me of the Pioneer unit(s), especially the damping material on the underside of the platter. Pioneer thought of it first.
Technics 1200 always had damped platter
Which audio technica turntable good for turntablism?
1240
Hi torque motor...err, a figure perhaps?
......2.2 high torque. ....
So which Audio Technica Turntable is design for turntablist or scratching?
140 and the 120 but 140 has more DJ oriented features than the 120
LP1240USB-XP
@@VoyageOne1 are these still available?
What is the best scratch needles for this turntable?
www.djkit.com/carts-and-stylus
Ortofon Concorde scratch in white
Just ordered two of these. I've got a massive vinyl collection and I wanted to start doing some at home mixing. I heard that this turntable is good for such things . Are they decent for beginners to learn to scratch on?
Scratching is fine on a turntable that has good torque, but your mixer is important also!
I understand pitch is wobbly. Unacceptable, no?
No it’s perfect
This isn’t a DJ turntable. From what I’ve read its like having a PLX 500 since it took the place of the ATLP120. Might as well spend the extra $100 and get the ATLP1240 if you want to go with A.T. Lots of filter talk. Not a good review.
The LP120USB, has been replaced by the LP120XUSB turntable.
esp the start button is round just like the 500
ok, every else I've looked this is a "DJ" turntable but you're saying is not for scratching? make up your mind!
...He meant , The Cartridge , the Needle that comes inside the Box for Free , is not for Scratching......just buy the Ortofon Concorde Scratch in white , and you can Scratch like you wish , with this 140 xp.....the Torque Start is 2.2 , which is a little bit less then the 1200 Technics , which i think is 2.4 .....But you have Reloop Turntables , that can reach , a 4.5 Torque. ...But again not everyone loves to much power on the platter.
I think that , the 140xp in Silver , is Simply the most Beautiful Turntable in the Market Today......
Great answer!
@@DJ_A.K_GOLD this has more torque than the 1200...the 1200 has 1.8kg of startup torque...continuous torque is a different story. these are fantastic turntables that have been built from the ground up not like all the other super oem turntables all built by Hanpin
poor review please show the back cable connectors and turntable surface need more view the turntable real HD quality vídeo
other vids showing detail of patch cord and connectors
Bought one. Anti Skate does not work.
but is the same motor. :(
....No , the lp 120 , has a 1.8 high torque. ......
The 140 xp , has a 2.2 high torque.
"Best thing since sliced bread" ....Wow! No self-indulgence there. Also, AT rep standing right next to you? Pretty sure that's going to be a biased review.
It was a tongue in cheek first look at the turntable CJ, we like to have fun at djkit!
It was a first look, not a performance review.
These guys are bozo's , this is a review ??...sounds like they were hitting on each other!
Thanks Dave. We like to have fun.
