Supplies: Started with my hair curled using my 1" NuMe hair wand (bit.ly/2y5u5q3), clear elastic bands from Sally's Beauty Supply, Premium MetaGrip Bob Pins from Sally's Beauty Supply, Hairspray to hold the style.

I've never done my own braids my mother has always done them for me, you are the first tutorial I've seen that shows a close up of how to add the extra strands of hair in as you make the braid, Thank you!

I did this with Dutch braids instead (I’m bad at French braids) and it turned out sooo cute!! Thanks! 💕
I like this style with a modification, instead of pinning it, I like to merge the braids together and braid down. So you hold a braid in each hand, separate 6 sections between fingers and merge two sections together so you now have 3 sections and braid it down from there. So you have the front just like this style in the video but the back has two braids merging to a single braid down the back.

How fun!!! Yes, for more volume you can definitely tease your hair lightly at the roots, and I would also recommend using a good texture spray. I like the one from Amika! Good luck, and have fun at prom!

I love this hairstyle and your tutorial! I would like to do it for my wedding. The back of my head (just up form where I pin the braids) always comes out really messy and ruins the whole thing.
Any advice?
Franziska Haak Hey girl! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! If your talking about the hair at the crown of your head (above the Bobbi pins) you could try placing a pin horizontally on that section to keep it more in place. Then place the braids over that pin. Does that make sense? Hope that helps! 😘

After you braid each side is there a way to not get it to bunch up? Whenever I try to pull it back to the center of my head, it bunches up around the crown. Any tips?

Hey Giselle! I just saw this comment. I hope it worked out for you! I have frizzy hair as well and so I smooth it down with either a straightener or curling iron before I do the style. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have anymore questions. :)

Sadiaaa !!! Thank you so much. That is very sweet of you to say! ❤️ My hair is definitely not perfect, and most of the time drives me nuts haha. The grass is always greener.... It is very thick, wavy/curly and tends to be in the dry side. I have found that for me washing my hair less often (1-2x a week) and doing frequent deep conditioning treatments help. For this video I did beach waves with a straightener. This style can usually last me a couple of days! I hope that helps. :)

I really want to do this hairstyle but my hairline is shit. It is receded and is covered in baby hairs. I've always had hair like this, so it has nothing to do with wearing too much ponytails.
