Just found your channel, I use to just love Crappie fishing when I was still able to get out and go, I'm almost 70 yrs now and disabled, but what I wouldn't give to be able to go Crappie fishing again. Enjoy what you get to do everyday and going fishing is just a bonus. When your my age you'll look back and smile at the fun times you had out on the water. I could fish everyday from sun up till dark, my PB count in one day of catching crappie was 70 something, my husband and Father-in-law were with me. We'd go over to Wheeler Dam in the winter to catch Sauger or some call them Jack I think. Great tasting fish, but Crappie will all ways be the best tasting fish fried iv eaten, with some slaw with vinegar/oil dressing, and beer hush puppies nothing better. They'ed eat them as fast as I could fry them lol. Wish you the best Sir, catch one for me. Love your channel.

Mr. Ken your videos make my mouth water. I hope before I die I could fill a chest of Sac-A-Lait . There just no place on the north shore that I find fish like that. I have traveled over those waters many times and wished I could fish those waters. I don`t know that area and always wanted to fish there . I only hope that I get a chance to get the boat that was given to me running before my body gives up on me. God has Blessed me another day on this earth so I can at lease watch your videos. Thanks and may God Bless You Sir.
Harold thank you so much for watching my videos and the the nice comment. I hope you get the boat running and can do some fishing.

Clay Myers Clay I buy my jig tying material at Barlow’s Takle , they have everything you need
@@kfred awesome you da man!! I'll start keeping my whitetails this hunting season, maybe even shoot some red wing black birds to get that black and orange for tying jigs. You really have my wheels turning on the possibilities. I really want to get in to it. You've definitely inspired me.

Nice Ken. That jig color pattern was killing them. I’ve been doing good in Bayou Sorrel. I think I’m going to try Henderson out this weekend. I hope I can get the same result you did!! 🎣
Thanks Troy! I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Hey Ken....enjoyed it buddy! Man I think the hottest I’ve ever been in my life is a bass tournament on Henderson a couple years ago in early august...110 heat index...not a cloud in the sky...no air moving....was pretty sure I was gonna die hahaha! Keep up the great content!
I was out there today fishing and I felt the same way. Lol !No clouds and no wind. About had a heat stoke. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Always love hearing from you guys!
I’m ready for that first little front to blow through man...usually bout mid August I start getting heat grumpy lol
That Henderson by way must be slab vile
Lot of fish , not a lot over the 1 1/2 pound mark

Hey Mr Kendell really enjoy watching your videos, but I was wondering if you sell your jigs thanks
Thanks John! Email me at kfishfred@gmail.com
I just don’t understand that they want stack like that in shallow weather here northwest LA on Caddo lake they go to 15-20 and hold on brush tops ! Blows my mind how they are stacked in 5 ft of water !
It’s has to be the current that puts the fish shallow here in the Basin, plus we don’t have the real deep water other than some of the channels.
Ken how you keep the cork at depth you want to fish using the cigar float help
It comes with a little plastic peg. The line goes through the cork and you just peg it at the depth you want. Thanks for watching
@@kfred thanks went to academy got the same ones you uses the big floats had hole in stem though string went Thur should have known I really enjoy your posts
Nice video Ken. Is Brian related to a John Ebner?
Hey Kendall another great video. What kind of rod are you using towards the end of the video? I like how the reel is back close to the end.
Thanks
Thanks Scotty! I usually use a 8. 6’ Tomahawk Apache fly rod with a little spinning reel . Works good for my casting and popping a cork technique.Walmart usually has the rods
Do have a question. I see you using w hat looks like a spinning reel on a trout rod.. you like That bettenr than a. Standard rod
Yes it is a fly Rod (Apache Tomahawk )8’6”Long with a small spinning reel. It’s perfect for my technique of casting and popping a cork. It is a very light setup that I can use all day. Walmart has them sometimes. Thanks for watching Mike!
Mr Kendall do you have a fish caddo lake for Crappie tell me what I need to use I'm from Houston Texas I'm going to make a trip down there what kind of jig I need to use
Roger have never fished there but I do want to make a trip. Check all my fishing videos out and learn my technique. I know it will work there too. Thanks for watching
I’ve never crappie fished floating pads like that. It looks fun. Is that in brackish water???
Joseph this was fresh water. We definitely had a fun trip! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Make video of redfish and trout.
I will! Thanks Danny!
I missed where you are fishing???
Wayne King This was in Henderson Lake. Thanks for watching!
man you is a bless man that you know how to make your own jigs, do you make them by order?
Thanks Anthony! Yes pretty much!
Good videos. How much do you charge to make jigs. I may buy some.
David I sell them for 2.50 per jig if you want any. Thanks for watching !
@@kfred I would like 6 of them. How do I order? Send me an email to: davetaylor77@gmail.com
Sounds good ! Thanks David!
I meant that I would like to buy some if you do make some for people.
What is the limit for crappie per person?
It’s 50 per person’! Thanks for watching!
Kendall Fredrick
Kendall Frederick no problem I love watching them
Thanks! I appreciate that !
Mr.Kendall I’m new to fishing the basin what part were y’all at on Henderson lake

I think I can do a good catfish video ! I appreciate you watching and commenting. Thank you!
How about some of ur jigs how can I get some
Hey Ken what kind of rods do you use in this video or the fly rods ? Can you send me the link on where you got them
8.6 ‘ Tomahawk Apache fly rod .Walmart has them for under 30 bucks. Thanks for watching!
You still got jigs for sell Ken-folk?
I am selling a few. Shoot me a email kfishfred@gmail.com for more information. Thanks
Hey im new to Henderson...where you fishing lol.
Mike ! We caught these in North Bigeaux! Thanks for watching!
@@kfred im just kidding cuz...i miss those days back in the swamp
WhatMake is your Speck Rod??
Jerry I guess the reasons I use this rod are:The 8.6 length helps in casting that little jig and small float as far as possible. It helps in playing the fish, they have a hard time shaking the bait. The rod is very lightweight so you can cast all day without getting wore out. The last reason they are inexpensive. I do love some other brands out there but I like the price of these. I know in a couple of my fishing videos, I talk about the rod and where to get them. Thanks for watching!
Were you using a slip stopper or fixed?
David I like the fixed floats for the technique I use. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Kendall Frederick thanks for the videos. I grew up fishing the basin putting in right at the landing you used. Now I live just north of Alexandria. The fishing up here is different
How long is the rod you're using?
8’ 6” Thanks for watching
@@kfred I want to get some of your jigs. I live in Washington (by Opelousas). How would I go about getting some?
Do you sell those jugs Mr. Kendall??
I do sell some!! Shoot me an email kfishfred@gmail.com
Is that what they call the north flats?
Across the channel from us are the North Flats. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Kendall Frederick for sure man. We’re going try for some reds and specs tomorrow. But I love sacalait fishing.
what kind of jig is brian using, he is putting it on you
Lol! He was using the same jig! Thanks for watching.
So why the fly rods?
Michael I have tried them them all and for what I do it’s perfect. I use the 8.6 Tomahawk Apache fly rod from Walmart for less than 30.00 . With a small spinning reel I can throw all day without wearing me out . They are super lightweight .If I am casting its my go to. Thanks for watching and commenting.
What are we’re you in on this video
If your asking what boat it is a 17 foot aluminum Weld with an 85 Yamaha. Thanks for watching Hutch!
I’m sorry I just seen my message,I was asking what area were you in on this video
Hutch_8 This was in North Bigeaux
Go over your boat
Do you sell those jigs?
I do ! Shoot me a email kfishfred@gmail.com Thanks for watching Jeff!
