@@armandogarcia-halevi8375 Well my friend, judging by the number of gold medals in BJJ (Romanian championship) my son already collected, he is more than able to throw me. At 53 my judo is a bit rusty.

Shintaro, you're a nice person calling Travis Stevens a nice person. The great Travis Stevens ... .The throw is taught as Hikkomi Gaeshi everywhere outside of Travis' dojo.

I watched all the Doha 90kg masters a few weeks ago and I saw a bunch of sumi gaeshi's that looked like they failed for exactly the reasons discussed here. Its easy for me to armchair quarterback a bunch of people fighting at the top of the sport of course, but I wonder if that's what Travis was talking about with the "not pointing fingers" bit lol.

Sumi Geishi the throw i manage too pull of the most. That said i am just a recreational guy haveing some fun so it is not saying much but somehow this seems too fit me most. I just seem too be the sacrifice throws kind of guy. I do it slightly differently usually. English not my best language but i will try to explain. I put the top of my foot against the front of uke's hip with my knee sticking as deeply as i can past his/her side. Then i just roll back and toss them over in a strait line. So i basicly am sligthly of his centerline while setting it up. If you can still follow me. I almost never have the problem of not quite not getting the throw like you showed. Then again i hardly ever practice with competing guy's. But as long as i get my position and load the guy properly on my lower leg/foot. They hardly ever seem to able to avoid their "dimise". Any thoughts on that way of doing it ?
