Christian and other religious *beleifs* cannot be forced*, but Christian and other religious *practices* can, especially when said individual is a child, or cannot make decisions freely. Forcing someone who is not Christian to go to church, pray, or act like they are Christian (possibly for their safety) is a thing that happens, and can go against their religion if they have one. He said that our goal is to convince rather than compel? But is it really our job to try and convince the unbeliever? I thought that our job is to preach the Gospel to them and then it's between them and God and the Holy Spirit to convince them of the truth of what we have shared. It's the Gospel that saves, there is power in using scripture and it does not return void. Our job is to evangelize and share the Gospel, we don't have the power to convince the unbeliever. It's God who does that work in them or not after they have heard the Gospel from us.
Acts 28:23 He witnessed to them from morning till evening, explaining about the kingdom of God, and from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets he tried to _persuade_ them about Jesus.

@@randobamboz forced conversions are never encouraged in the bible. If christians decide to do so, that doesn't make it part of the christian believe system because it contradicts the fact that your repentance must be your own to get saved. Also atheists should shut their mouths especially since you created the 2 largest mass murderers, hitler and Mao along with countless other tyrants and to make it even worse, you claim that all theists which is 9 in every 10 people is an ignorant lunatic so maybe check for your own hypocrisy
“forced conversions were never encouraged in the bible.” Well, that’s not really relevant. The uploaders’ insist this hasn’t been a practise in Christendom when it absolutely was. That the bible doesn’t explicitly say anything on the matter doesn’t rewrite history or erase much of Christian doctrine that extends beyond the bible. “Convert or die” was indeed a practise in Christian history, as was cultural genocides, indoctrination, and persecution such as anti-semitism. This is just a fact. “Atheists should keep their moves shut…” Setting aside that Hitler was not an atheist (his exact religious views are debated, but he wasn’t an atheist), the problem with this objection is that it is tu quoque, but a charge of hypocrisy that doesn’t actually nail any hypocrisy down. People are killed in the name of God all the time, no one is killed for either bare atheism or bare theism. Neither atheism nor theism are motivational positions, that takes something like politics or religion to move people to action, and that’s different than atheism and theism.
@@NikolaHundz the way christians behave somewhat does matter but again if a christian directly contradicts their own holy book, they're not behaving in a christian way. If christians start stealing, that doesn't mean christianity is a religion that approves of theft.
@@thetraditionalist setting aside how particular interpretations led rulers to believe in the Divine Right of Kings, and how scripture has been used to justify taking people and their property against the will of non-christians, it doesn’t really matter to the point. The video creators insist that forcing religious views onto others is not really a thing, but the facts disagree. In your attempt at to hand wave away particular explicit examples of forced indoctrination, marginalization, and coercive laws to bring about conversions, you inadvertently acknowledge that the video is spreading falsehoods. We can even ignore historical examples and look at modern efforts: christians have been the main opposition to social progress in industrialized countries in the 21st century. They are the main group that stands in opposition to LGBTQ rights, routinely seek to legislate religious views on morality, and even have literally been challenging laws to allow their views a privileged status over other religions. Insisting others live according to what you believe your god wants, and attempting to pass legislation to make what you believe to be the edicts of God into law, is forcing your religion on others.
Agreed... Especially when American Atheism is only not considered a religion because they don't want to give up their abilities to ignore any separation of Church & state from one another.
Yeah you using the Spawn marquee and talking about this is funny. Since in the Spawn universe God is pretty much a villain too. And to be honest I've never had a Atheist, Jew or Muslim come peddling their religion at my door. Nor do I see them on the street corner bleating their scriptures on a corner anywhere. Quite the contrary you have to go to them, not them hunting you down to annoy you with something you care nothing about.
@@Paulthored you know atheist for a while were forced to say under god when they didn't believen god Also under god was added during the cold war I think religious people are more guilty
Forcing religion is not possible? You can't force people to actually believe, but you can definetly force people into a religion. I appreciate the part that says that God is only interested in true declarations of faith, so don't force or coerce people into your religion. Because that is definitely possible.
@Jane Doe Well I wouldn't go so far. Definitely not all people who can't see threw it are plain stupid and there are many reasons to believe even if you see threw it. But more importantly it is no use insulting people because of their belief, because you won't get people too see other arguments that way. I think compassion is way more helpful if you want to help people, since I believe we are all on the same side. I do know of the documents you are referencing and yes from todays point of view they are obviously radicicolous. Although I believe the Divine Right is more of a concept than one single document.
They aren't forcing it in literal terms. What people mean when they say "forcing their religion" is when people try at every possible interaction to convert someone, despite their feelings on the matter. I've known people who said they'd pray for me when learning I'm an atheist, despite me saying that makes me uncomfortable. They would it anyway. I've had people scream that I'll go to hell for being apart of and supporting the LGBTQ community, despite me saying it makes me uncomfortable. I've even had a very dear friend of mine stop talking to me altogether because I supported the LGBTQ community. My parents constantly bring up how they wish they'd of raised me better because I'm not a Christian. They tell me constantly how I'm going to burn in hell, despite me telling them I don't like them talking to me like that.
The Bible says that faith comes by one measure, that faith comes by HEARING the word of God. Other places talk about people not believing because they have not HEARD. What do you mean that there are different ways to share the faith? Yes we should live lives that demand a Gospel explanation but we must use words. Evangelizing and sharing the Gospel is a VERBAL message. There are different ways to share it when it comes to sharing over email, sharing the gospel in a RUclips video or in person or on a street corner. But with all these ways it is a verbal or written message.

Good video and I can agree….. but how you approach people matters….. how you open up the topic…… if you are a street preacher that is an opening……but if you corner people unexpectedly that can be irritating. People wont hate good christians in general if they dont get involved in talking hatefully about others like gays coz no one will know them. But many supports preachers who do that and are hated and would even quote Jesus saying tge world hated me first stuffs. Like they feel right enough to talk against others and expect to be respected for that
It's okay to spread the word of God. It's okay to tell how Jesus died for us how it changed our lives. Christianity can't be forced on other people because Jesus don't want us to force our beliefs on others. I know who I am today and I know that God loves me . I tried to do the best I can every day to live the best way I can. By shoving it down somebody's throat will push others away.
No you don't force your beliefs on anyone. You plant the seed by sharing the good news with others . If they have ears let them hear. Let God do the rest.Amen.

Not surprised that someone in the comments would falsely use the no true Scotsman fallacy. It doesn't apply here buddy 😉
@@goor1322 yeah, you need to go look up no true Scotsman before you come in here, or hey, wait for my video on this one.
Acts 18:4
Every Sabbath he reasoned in the synagogue, trying to _persuade_ Jews and Greeks.
Acts 28:23
He witnessed to them from morning till evening, explaining about the kingdom of God, and from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets he tried to _persuade_ them about Jesus.
2 Corinthians 5:11
Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we _persuade_ people, but we are well known to God; and I hope that we are also well known in your consciences.
Quoting Latin in your username may mean you're a Calvinist, because that group--like Catholics--loves that dead language, and both groups adore Augustine. Calvinists also are known for starting arguments over nitpicky matters.

“forced conversions were never encouraged in the bible.”
Well, that’s not really relevant.
“Atheists should keep their moves shut…”
Setting aside that Hitler was not an atheist (his exact religious views are debated, but he wasn’t an atheist), the problem with this objection is that it is tu quoque, but a charge of hypocrisy that doesn’t actually nail any hypocrisy down.

When in this century was Christianity forced? I see way more pushy Atheist, Jews and Muslims these days. 🤷🏻♂️
If anything, the secularists are forcing us to look like fools.

I think religious people are more guilty
We all have different ways to share the Faith.

It's okay to spread the word of God. It's okay to tell how Jesus died for us how it changed our lives. Christianity can't be forced on other people because Jesus don't want us to force our beliefs on others. I know who I am today and I know that God loves me .
