The ability to sing effortless high notes reflects the integration of all of the fundamental technical skills needed to sing well.
In a recent webinar, I responded to a viewer question by demonstrating how each of these fundamental components of vocal technique combine to facilitate sustained high notes.
I believe that the swiftest and most efficient way to learn singing technique is to explore each of these components individually and practice integrating them together.
If you'd like to try that approach for yourself, consider enrolling in my Vocal Fundamentals online multimedia singing course:

Loved your explanation, you’re very good in transmitting thoughts to reflect upon, that’s what makes a really good teacher

Love that this ties perfectly into your video about awareness in singing, practising each step and then building on it. Definitely needed that reminder today. Thank you!

Can u talk about vocal fatigue too. Thank u for these informations. I really struggle with vocal fatigue. Sometimes it takes month to be able to go back to my acceptable singing voice. Its obscure

Vocal fatigue is a great topic, and I’m not sure I’ve directly addressed it before-I’ll give it some thought!
I’ll offer you one general observation here, though, which is that vocal fatigue is almost *always* a consequence of using your voice in an imbalanced way.
Most typically, this involves creating some tightness or rigidity in the throat, and then overriding it with breath pressure. This creates the kind of fatigue you might experience if you were excitedly cheering at a concert or sporting event and then feel hoarse the next day, but it’s harder to notice while it’s happening because it builds up over time.
Another way fatigue happens through imbalance is if you’re producing a very breathy tone for a period of time, which means your vocal folds are not being allowed to close sufficiently every time they vibrate.
Too intense or too lax vocal fold closure will both lead to fatigue. The solution is not to battle the fatigue but rather learn to allow your voice to respond in a way that feels free and produces what I would call a clear signal, neither abrasive nor breathy, all of the time. The first step is to notice when the fatigue seems to start building up, and then notice whether something is creating tension or pressure in your throat, or whether there is a lot of air escaping.

(to be clear, sometimes you may want to produce an abrasive or breathy tone, depending on the style of music you're singing-it's find when you use these qualities for expressive effect *some* of the time, as opposed to having it be the way you sing *all* of the time)

@@ClaudiaFriedlander my genre of singing is rock. So I yelled alot while practicing everyday for an hour. Every single day. Yeah realizing vocal fatigue is very important. Which is actually hard cause there is no pain I feel. But now im Just resting which i think the way of coping. Yeah I'm just waiting maybe a couple of weeks see what happens. ....🙏

@@arash5550 that's what I'm talking about, until you can experience what free singing/yelling feels like, you think that singing involves a level of pressure that will eventually lead to fatigue. But your singing will be paradoxically even more powerful when you find a way to do it that does not create that level of pressure. Which is why singers like Robert Plant and Mick Jagger still sound powerful and fresh after decades of singing rock.
