Yeah... I use it way too much. It was originally supposed to be a Last Breath only thing, something I only use on those songs, but it kind of just spiraled down onto everything. You could basically consider it my signature at this point
That's actually exactly what a cover is. Covers, traditionally, are different singers replicating the original song, making very little, if any changes, outside of the singer and band. Apply that to instruments and some other changes, and you got the covers I do. The term you're looking for is a Remix, which, yes, if I called this a remix, it would certainly be a terrible one. But I don't really want to remix most songs. I find the original good enough as is, so instead I change other aspects of it to make it a different listening experience, which most commonly leads me to a cover, or, at most, "take" Appreciate the feedback though and get what you were trying to say. I do want to change melodies up more, but I rarely come up with anything more iconic than the original
ok lemme say it nicer: I think it is decent overall, although the use of the original LB motifs makes it shortsighted. Knuckleduster has a really good BTT take/cover which is arguably one of the best uses for a cover imo. Where this falls is just down to the mixing in general, I never liked LB much for the mixing because it doesn't blend well, and the drums are either too quiet, or too loud, as well as the melody (I.E., Megalovania). Adding some original melodies or motifs might do the trick, of course it doesn't need to be completely redone because covers do/don't need to be 100% original... just something to spice it up instead of acting so vanilla.
