In my opinion the pre front end (96-98) with a lip and the type r grill with no logo looks way better than the facelift one. I owned a 97 hatch and you wont regret staying with the pre front end.

Robbie pop open the old head lights and paint the housing black! Maybe even do some other custom light stuff while your in there. That would be a good (tutorial) video.
Instead of putting those garbage ebay headlights, just paint the housing black, it's easy to take apart. Put some spoon style mirrors(stock ones look like elephant ears lmao), mugen lip or air walker bumper, type-r rear lip and you're set 😎

Imo if someone's gonna do an EM1 swap it'd look better to just do a full aftermarket swap instead of using stock parts that look pretty much the same, an EM1 kit on an EK might look pretty cool, assuming the rear is also compatible.
You should really look into the 96-98 sir bumpers, I bought black housings for my 2000 coupe for $48 and I bought full smoked headlights for my 2000 hatch for $60

Now that you have a second set of headlights, you should do the old "stick em in the oven" trick on the old set and paint the housings black 🖤
There is a difference between the EM1 and your hatchback. The 1996-1998 years had that front end but the 1999-2000 years had a different front end.

When painting your new tails make sure you use adhesion promoter so that the paint sticks permanently to plastic.

The bumper on the EM1 looks different and alot of people prefer them bc they can look clean. I've had both of them and honestly they both look good.
99-00 hatch tails are clear with no amber. That’s why the box was labeled that way.

The 99-00 front looks so much more aggressive, and totally makes a world of difference on the hatchback. To say it looks the same is a crying shame.

Paint the headlight housings yourself, very easy to do and it'll be a good video... the rear lights are the 99-00 style ones

rear tail lights are just 99-00 spec (facelift) version not "jdm" spec
Pull them apart paint them then sand the lenses and re clear coat
