- This song, written by Rosalind María and David Shea, describes an initial experience in rural Ethiopia (Ziway or Zway in East Shoa on the road to Shashemene) where we taught English in summer classes with local Ethiopian teachers. Originally organized by Hamish Binns of St Louis University (Madrid campus) in 2006, our project was hosted by the Mary Help Mission whose diligent staff have always welcomed us with gracious generosity and kindness. In this tune we try to recapture the joy of those early days in 2006. Now 17 or so summers on, we dedicate the song to all the volunteers (from Spain, the USA, Germany, Italy, Poland and other lands) who gave so much of their energy and enthusiasm and to the Ethiopian teachers with all their wisdom and insights. And of course, we dedicate our song to the Girls of Zway!
