Me and my mom are roommates and she used to snore so loud that I could hear her down the hall. She recently lost 30 lbs and doesn't snore at all now. I am glad she doesn't after watching this. Thank you Rose for the informative video.
I wake up once a week grasping for my breath. I wake numerous times a night. I'm always tired. Thanks to this article I will be making a doctor appointment tomorrow. Thank you for the info.
I felt choking while sleeping and woke up after stuggle in dream. I dont snore and some say it's due to sleeping straight, usually we should sleep sideways.
My husband and I both have sleep apnea. His is more severe than mine. I had no idea it could increase your risk of diabetes. We both hate the CPAP but I know we need it. Thanks for the info.
I did not know there are 3 different kinds of sleep apnea. My husband has mild obstructive sleep apnea, and the doctor said my husband could try a CPAP but since he always sleeps on stomach, he could not sleep well with CPAP. But since his symptoms are still minor, he lives with it. I just hope it won't get worsen. Thank you for the educational info.
My love suffers from sleep apnea so this was very informative thank you, I had no idea there were different types, this is.... Scary but thank you so much for all the info!
Im very thankful that i dont suffer from apnea its a scary health issue and it worries me because my husband has it and jerks awake several times a night gasping for air after a short period of not breathing. I learned a ton watching this video and thank you for all of the information and will be getting my husband in to his doc to be tested
Hi I just woke up from sleep like now... I choked in ma sleep ..was able to wake up and start beating on my chest ...still I was unable to burge or breathe my throat got blocked even when I woke up and stood up on my feet I couldn't breathe..i was trying to pump air through ..I felt like there was a little balloon in ma throat that needed to come out by force for me to breathe again ...I got sooo scared...i forced and forced it ...my room mates woke up and I couldn't drink water bcos it wouldn't go down....it lasted for some seconds and finally after constantly beating on my chest it opened and I drank lots of water but I still can't sleep till this time... I just searched for something on RUclips to at least know what was that, that happened bcos I got so scared like I was dying already ...if you know about what might have caused this please talk to me ...I'm so scared it might happen again... my BMI is 25.5 and I'm 25years old... thank you
Wow! The side effects of sleep apnea are scary! I'm thinking I need to get checked because I'm sleepy almost everyday eventhough I sleep almost 7 or 8 hrs each night..as you said could be a sign. I'm also 187lbs so that might be a cause of it. Thank you for detailing ech type of sleep apnea, I had no idea about that! This video could save some lives and maybe save mine from future complications😮!
This is very helpful and informative. I will pass it on to my brother who has sleep apnea. He wakes up short of breath a lot during his night sleep and wakes all tired because he isn’t getting a good night sleep. Great video👍
I have 3 family members with sleep apnea. Fortunately they now have several different devices like you mentioned for those with may find some claustrophobic. We test patients at my work before and following surgery.
I had experience several times, when i am sleeping i suddenly wake up and take a deep breath and feels that i am not breath while sleeping. Is it a sign that i am stop breathing???
My ex-husband has sleep apnea but refuses to follow up about it with his doctor, it is infuriating to me that he doesn't take better care of his self, even if he is my ex I want him around for his sons.
I have central sleep apnea but i dont have congested heart faillure stroke or kidney issues. its 20 awh + 30 awh for OSA. So my machine is a VPAP or Bipap
I had it for years and my doctor told me o dont worry it wo t kill you it was only when I got bronchitis 2 a year that I was referred to a chest specialist he told me I had asthma.and sinse I was put on asthma medication I dont get except maybe once in a year ,I was really annoyed that my doctor did not look into why I was stopping breathing in my sleep I'm now on 2 puffs of foster at night and 2 puffs in the morning ,and salbutamol when needed
Excellent information. My father in law uses a CPAP. I've certainly woken up gasping for air on a few occasions. I'm sure it was due to medication I was taking at the time.
I just woke up today not being able to breath i was inhaling so hard and not a single bit of air passed i kept walking and running not knowing what to do til 10 seconds or so and i was able to breath again, this is the 3rd time this is happening and i'm still looking for a clear answer on what this is, I'm actually scared of sleeping alone from now on knowing i could die without anyone knowing just by sleeping...
I cant sleep with my head is low as my air begins to block & l develops lack of air also one of my adinoid is blocked many yrs now , l lost my smelling sences also as l used to suffer with sinus
It's horrible to suffer from, but a sleep study is over 7k! My docs don't seem to know about home studies, which I think would be much cheaper. Thanks for the info. It's very helpful to have such detail!
I am writing to you about my case, my 2 questions are in relation to the airway measurement which was 59.3mm in 2020, 60mm in 2021 & 34.2mm in 2022 according to the CBCT reports attached to this email. Will the airway size increase? i do hv stuffy nose issues at times. my cpap use report is 0.43ahi. in 2020 the ahi was 22.4 & in june 2022 was 52.4. will I be able to get off the cpap in the near future
We don't label anything is intermittent sleep apnea, you have to do a sleep study test and it's pretty informative. After the test is scored a pulmonologist reads over it and takes about four different readings and make a determination of sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is not something that comes and goes.
Sleep apnea can come and go if it's caused by a medication or medical condition, and the dosage or condition changes. Sleep apnea can also improve on its own with weight loss or a consistent change in sleep position, but if all else remains equal, it will usually stay the same unless it's treated. ~ Rose

Hey Rose, sleep apnea is scary and very serious. Thank you for the FYI
My husband and I both have sleep apnea. His is more severe than mine. I had no idea it could increase your risk of diabetes. We both hate the CPAP but I know we need it. Thanks for the info.
I know so many people with sleep apnea. It's more prevalent than most think. I actually did an at home sleep study to test for it!
I did not know there are 3 different kinds of sleep apnea. I have experienced sleep apnea since I was a little girl until now and 16. Its really scary and I'm scared for my life whenever it happens.

Fantastic Video. You learn a lot in a short space of time. Big thanks.
Although I don’t suffer from sleep apnea Thanks for sharing the info

Thank you for the information. My mom suffers from this, so this will really help.
I snore most nights and I am always tired at times but I had problems with my nose hopefully to get it fix soon

Very informative. While I have many sleep related issues I'm lucky apnea is not one of them.
The sleep doctor denied my a sleep study because she didn't think anything would show up.
I cant sleep with my head is low as my air begins to block & l develops lack of air also one of my adinoid is blocked many yrs now , l lost my smelling sences also as l used to suffer with sinus
I had no idea about the central sleep apnea, I thought it was just the obstructive. Very interesting.

I did not know a person could wake up to a 150 times per night! I've tried a sleep guard and didn't find it helpful.
With all my sleeping disorders I am so glade this is NOT one of them...well unless I am sick..lol then I do snore. UHHHHH CHOOOO

@@Sleepopolis medication associated sleep apnea is a rare occurrence.... Sleep apnea is normally caused by physical or neurological factors...
What about the puffing exhale from mouth during sleep?
I didn't know there were different types. I don't think I have it thank goodness.
I had an apnea while lying down awake is that even possible?
The cpap can also cause sleep anea! She says. That is terrible.
I just woke up and gasped for air cause I felt like I couldnt breath
I have sleep apnea and my weight 90kg what should I do
Both my parents have sleep apnea. I hope i don't get it when I'm older.
