  • Creating and sustaining thriving communities throughout the world is at the heart of the International City-County Management Association’s Mission. Each year the annual conference brings together members from all across the country to discuss improving the quality of the local governments in which its members serve.
In episode 2 of ICMA-TV, we speak with keynote speaker Former Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best about crisis leadership and social justice. Chief Best describes dealing with these unprecedented times of turmoil and how to take strong and substantive action to deal with the issue of racial equity.
We also catch up with CEO and Executive Director of ICMA Marc Ott about the “pivoting” the organization did 18 months ago to help accommodate the need for local governments to go virtual, and address the hurdles many local officials faced while trying to provide PPE to first responders and citizens during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We sit down with Lynne Ford, CEO of MissionSquare Retirement and sponsor of ICMA’s 2021 Annual Conference to discuss the rebranding of the company, what fun elements they have planned for the exhibition hall, and what the future of MissionSquare looks like.
Finally, today we practice a little namaste and give Goat Yoga a try! What did attendees think of this unusual spin on zen?
Tune in today 2 of ICMA-TV!!
