I remember when this video first came out. I must have played it 30 times. I still can't resist looking if it shows up in the suggested play list. Of this song, to me this is the best version. 😀
I agree lol. Ive been listening to gypsy jazz for years been playing for almost two and I can tell you it can be very complicated but Metal in itself(Not all but some) has alot of really good players whom play some pretty cool stuff .like i dig alot of different music.even slack key guitar has some cool stuff going for it
Amazing! Unfortunately I came from a forum where there was a post stating he was better than Tommy Emmanuel. That was infinitely beyond an exaggeration because Tommy Emmanuel is the god of guitar, bu this guy is absolutely fantastic
@Xeter245 yes of course , but this phrase was invented and used first time by django reinhardt in i'll see you in my dreams- 1930 circa and then copied from everyone like many other devices or riffs . from this point of view every guitarist today uses a little from django link bend ,octaves, crhomatic runs tremolo picking alternate picking and of course chords maj and minor 6 and many many other things
@krissieisgek I totally agree with you about Joscho - he's just amazing. While Tommy may not be quite as good as Joscho playing manouche, I would say Tommy can play any style he wants at such high levels.
HELLO and greetings from Spain!!! One small question: Do you think I could use your song for a video I´m editing? In terms of copyright and all of that! thnaks very much in advance for the response!!
what is it about guitar, that brings out the competitiveness in people?...ya never hear about clarinet players getting into arguments about the best clarinet players do ya?...its music...lighten up
Joscho plays gipsy jazz more like a banjo/country style of playing. He has a great technique. Als a really good timing he has. But there is no romance in his playing like django or Stochelo has.
Flashy gypsy technical playing without deeper musical content except to show off.Probably no one heard of Ted Greene and George van Eps who built cathedral from chords and knew harmony that this music never got to know.Of course for people who goes for flashy thing this opinion doesn't matter.
Joscho like Django is just a dream come true. How can you be this good? Love This music thanks to the King Django ❤️📣👊🏻✊🏻✋
this guy must be from another planet!! almost fell out of my chair. what great "chops."
Joscho you are such a master of the instrument! What ease! What style! What expression! It's just a joy to listen to.
my dream in life is to walk into a guitar center or any music store and do that. guy is unreal
aim for that goal. make it happen. the things you'll end up doing along the way may just as good.
This is the first video that introduced me to gypsy jazz. And I have never looked back ever since.
I listen to both Tommy Emmanuel and Joscho Stephan, and I enjoy them both.
i always go back to this one. one of my favorites. love his enthusiasm nevermind his virtuosity

Wow! LOVE it!
sublime... just supersharp playing... an alltime fave.
Defies physics at times that.. simply unreal
I love how joscho takes chances, it's rare to see a great player who still pushes himself into 'unsafe' territories. He needs to come to Newcastle!
This reminds of a guitar version of those ESPN "Strongman" competitions from way back.
Jezz this guy is just killing it!!!

@krissieisgek I totally agree with you about Joscho - he's just amazing. While Tommy may not be quite as good as Joscho playing manouche, I would say Tommy can play any style he wants at such high levels.
@lohphat i'm guessing folks told the same thing to django, yes?

Is that a baritone guitar? The neck looks really long.
@voodoosoup 'so... upload your version then, without the tricks!
django reinhardt must be happy
wtf is he doing at 2:34 somebody explain
Thank you, Misha Mansoor. xD
best bit happens at 2:22... :D
I hope his guitar is atleast 18 years old
It is called "shreddin Joscho style" haha
So actually Jack Black knows how to play... astonishing!
In my booze addled mind I has visions of Spongebob crossed with Ren and Stimpy...

@Benjamintolong let's put it like this. i dont like his melodies. fo show he is a fantastic technical player.
the lick at 2:35 wasn't as good as he thought...lol.
Joscho plays gipsy jazz more like a banjo/country style of playing. He has a great technique. Als a really good timing he has. But there is no romance in his playing like django or Stochelo has.
Dude, it's swing. Lighten up.
@Xeter245 Metallica isn't a pimple on this guy's butt.
most likely dropped-D.
Standard tuning
Ah ma allora gli alieni esistono.
Flashy gypsy technical playing without deeper musical content except to show off.Probably no one heard of Ted Greene and George van Eps who built cathedral from chords and knew harmony that this music never got to know.Of course for people who goes for flashy thing this opinion doesn't matter.
the man plays well, but still he aint no Stochelo!
ho lee crap
no mames
Typical german precision enginering technically brilliant but totaly soulless
he's just using tricks, no melodic value
