It always amazes me how Naoki is surprised and upset that Kotoko would actually dare to move on from him now that he was engaged to Sahoko-san. Did he honestly expect Kotoko to spend the rest of her life pining away for him in the hopes that he would come back to her?
Nah, he probably wanted Kotoko to move on, but because he was so jealous. He can’t help but be mean to Kotoko.
What else is he going to say to her?
He thought about this situation out of logic, like "whatever I have do to what I have to, to marry Sahoko" but in his heart he couldnt accept, He had to witness the situation, see the kotoko with another man, for the feelings to appear in front of him and he couldn't deal with them

I think that he is hard on her because he wants that she moves on, but when she actually moves on, he finds out all the consecuences of it. She will be married to another person and in love to another person, which means that she no longer will be in love with him. So, at that moment, when another people tell him that she is going to marry Kin-chan he feels all this negatives emotions and understands what he really wants and can't deny anymore.

1:12 this part on the Thai drama ( kiss me Thai) is so satisfying. The girl refuses to say yes, she is angry and hurt and could not forgive him so easily. So she left and the the guy has to apologize sincerely and really make a love confession to win her again❤. I always believed that Kotoko forgiveness was too quick
Welcome back! I love these video psycho analysis. As an Asian man. I understood what Naoki was doing the moment he agreed to meet with Oizumi's granddaughter. It was right after his father's Executive Assistant explained to him the financial state of Pandai. Naoki is a man with an intellectual IQ of 200 and the EQ of a stillborn. He even admitted to the Executive Assistant that this arranged marriage will stabilize Pandai financially. This strategy was not made by a confident leader, but by a willing martyr. As the oldest son, Naoki felt it's his responsibility to right the ship for his family financial future, his life be damned. He, however, unwittingly made Kotoko's heart a collateral damage. To fix THAT problem, Naoki decided to make her not only fall OUT of love for him, he wanted Kotoko to hate him. THAT, to him, was simple. Just revert back to the iceberg he was since his youth. However, love is never THAT easy. Ultimately, the heart wants what the heart wants. Fortunately for Naoki bumped into Kotoko's 2 girlfriends and they gave him a piece of their minds. It was the kick in the @$$ he needed, or the slap on the top of his Mt. Fuji size head he deserved. Then the rains came down to hide his tears because he realizes then the mess he made of his life and what he MUST do to fix it. Naoki knows that marrying Sahoko wouldn't only be unfair to her because every time he looks at her, Sahoko will feel his distance because she's the woman who kept him away from the lady he truly loved. It would be unfair to Kotoko because she would marry the man she liked and respected, but not really passionately loved. So during his journey home, Naoki decided that even if he had to work at his father's company and be miserable, he would be happy coming home to Kotoko's smile and lying to her when she ask him "how was work at the office? And he answers with a smile, it was great."

I think it must have been tremendously painful to live with the girl he wanted to marry while he pretended to not like her and desperately needed comfort but was also engaged to another girl. Talk about depressing! No wonder he lashed out at her.

Kinnosuke the one and only person who pushed Naoki to confession what his feel. He good to taunting Naoki. He knew Kotoko's true feeling.
And I think it is ok for Naoki he accept Sahoko as long Kotoko still around him. He rude as usual, but sure Kotoko's heart just for him. But when Satomi and Jinko confrontation him about Kinnosuke's proposal, finally he realize, Kotoko will go far away from him soon.

Hi! I'm sending you a message because I discovered your RUclips channel yesterday with Naoki's analysis videos. I wanted to thank you for your work. I've watched Itazura Na Kiss several times since I discovered the series in 2015 because despite the very cringe side in the acting of some, I've always had a lot of tenderness for this love story and the realistic side with the years that pass and as the characters evolve. Before, even if I was a big fan of Naoki, I was frustrated how badly he could treat Kotoko, and I had trouble following him. Your videos and analyses allow me to see the series and Naoki's actions from another angle which is actually quite logical! I love your analyses! Thank you very much, I hope you will continue to do them! ❤
Hi, I was recently watching this drama . This drama reminded me of my own teenage days. RUclips kept recommending your videos but I didn't see one major Naoki's POV. That is the tennis practice. It's so obvious for me as a boy what Naoki is trying to do there, maybe you might not notice it. Since Kotoko left his home, he is not getting his daily dose of her glimpse or getting to talk to her. That is kind of unbearable for a young man. He is kind of addicted to her by now. Even a having a quarrel with Kotoko will suffice his hunger. That's why he goes to tennis court for "practice". Be assured that is 100% bs, he is there just to see Kotoko. Then, he is handed a golden ticket by Sudo of a doubles match. Trust me that guy is fighting war with his face muscles to stop from blushing. Despite being a good sportsman, only Kotoko is on his mind and that's why even after loosing a game so badly he is happy to challenge another one, knowing fully well that he won't win. Now, do you think he is training Kotoko because he wants to save his face in next face. Nah! that's another golden gift from God to spend one whole week with Kotoko. While Matsumato and others might think he is wasting his time, that man is having the best time of his life(having to train your supposed future wife and her following your orders like a good student is whole another feeling). Also, one more reason is he doesn't like his girl to always feel lowly in front of other girls like Matsumoto. The best of the golden tickets came at last when first, Kotoko hit a perfect shot and second, he got a reason to carry Kotoko in his arms in front of everyone without anyone doubting his intentions. Men like him crave for such opportunity. Like girls like to create different fantasies, boys too have their own fantasies like saving their crush in emergency.

I just watched all of your contents and I loved it. This drama has been my favorite drama all the time and I watched every version of it except the taiwan version 🤣. I LOVE THE JAPANESE more since it includes way more detail even in the movie.

Could you also try to analyze and do Naoki’s pov during Mischievous 2? There is specifically a fight between the two due to Naoki’s jealousy and that in my opinion is the best way Kotoko could have reacted and handled it after so much mistreatment and is very symbolic in a lot of ways.

AHAHA yes the romantic trope of the guy being intentionally rude to the FL so she can move on faster, or vice versa, it was everywhere in the 2000s, BIG BANG's HARU HARU was the first I encountered, where the girl had cancer but didn't want to break her bf heart so she and his friends team up to gaslight him and pretends to cheat on his best friend so that her bf can move on better. It's cheesy and complicated but that is human nature, in reality though its very annoying, like LET'S DEAL WITH IT TOGETHER! STOP THINKING YOU'RE SUPERMAN! There is always some secret that the main couple just couldn't share to the partner for whatever reasons, instead they went with, "No, I can't burden my partner with MY PROBLEMS. I shall have to deal with this alone!" And they do it alone... kind of? For like less than a week until the FL finds out the truth from a coincidental gossiping friend or family member, then they run to their partner and scold them about it, cried and made up with a kiss then THE END. It's so dramatic and I love it lool if done right of course, some of them are overly dramatic.
