RIP RANDY. It was sad to find out he passed away even though I never met the man. After seeing this video when it first came out I thought it would’ve been cool to meet and talk to Randy. This is a really great video.
Randy was an amazing man/person. He will always be remembered. More than a great role model. Thank you for everything you've done my friend. Till we ride again.
Randy, you will be missed by many. You were an amazing man with a true passion for life. We worked together for a short time at Station 7. I am glad I got to know really know and appreciate you.
This is such a wonderful history of a man's life and so well put together video . Very inspirational....thanks to Big Poppa for sharing your friends story.
Beautiful car brotha.love that original look with a little bit of bounce to it.You did a great job building the ride and becoming who you are.i have family in union city too super nice.
Nice ride Randy very beautiful story about your success. Not all Chicanos call say they succeed. You have that driven Power.Hats off to you.😇Happy Holidays.🎅
Be really interesting how you found that Packard, what shape it was in...I love how Lowriders, bring old cars back to life..Your Packard is the most beautiful lowrider I've seen...
Randy's Bomb Shop ....Wow..4 days! That’s a cool bit of information, thanks for sharing. I’ve done some editing and I know it’s not easy and very time consuming. I’m a big fan of this series and try to watch them with my kids all the time. It’s great to show them real life stories of successful people that work hard, and who look like them doing good in their communities and in life.
You have worked hard for what you have obtain,Given 100% of whatever you do and that my friend is call PASSION WITH LOVE because i fall in this category as well in everything I do and well respected by others. Here is my motto..to you MEN'S GREATEST REWARD FOR HIS TOIL IS NOT WHAT HE GETS FOR IT, BUT WHAT HE BECAMES BY IT.
And now you know the rest of the story! Cuz I’ve bought my mag and got not much story to read. Other than that piece of negativity, I really enjoyed this roll model story.....Bravo Good Job! I like the fact that Mr. Perez is a Good neighbor! One of Thee most important commandments- crucial to all other commandments in my humble opinion
Its really nice to see an example of how the car culture is about family friends and community. Not all of them are about Hondas and street racing and being an idiot, most of them arent. And Californians are the OGs of custom car culture
I love all these stories truly inspiring. I wish i could cruise all year long although i live in Chicago so i gotta put my baby away for the winter and wake her up for that summertime cruise.
Such a great video. I feel inspired to keep pushing to achieve my goals. That’s the kinda man a lot of us young homies needed growing up in the hood. It’s nice to see some one do some good for the community. Definitely a role model we can look up to.
Randy what a great story of overcoming. Being raised by a single mom who was working hard to keep a roof over your head and white people who were prejudiced against latinos. As a child, adolescent, and young man you didn't deserve that but you persevered. Congratulations on your career in the fire department, retirement and successful marriage. I admire the work that you have done yourself on this unusual and unique low rider. A 1936 Packard! The car is so beautifully done. Where did you find it? It must have cost you some cash just for the car. Fortunately you have the skills and talent to do the work getting your car where you wanted it. The neighborhood car cruise in was a great idea and it took some courage. I would love to see your car in person and take a ride with you.
Wow. I forgot how elegant the '36 120 convertible was! For my dad (1931-2012) a 1936 Packard 120 rumble seat coupe was his very well used *FIRST CAR* after WW2, a grand upgrade over his Cushman scooter!
I’m glad I had the opportunity to meet you and work with you at SJFD. You were always very inspirational in the fire service to all who knew you. You definitely set the bar high as a Firefighter and Engineer for others to follow. The fire service and car culture lost a great human, friend and role model. Till we meet again RIP.
That mustache gave him his career.
Rest In Peace Retired San Jose Fire Engineer Randy Perez. A true service man, leader, and role model.
