The concert took place at Tushino Airfield in Moscow, Russia during the fall of the Soviet Union, only a month after the failed military coup that started the fall. Over 1.6 million people were at that show. The other performers at that show were (in order of appearance) Pantera, E.S.T(local Russian band), The Black Crows, Metallica and AC/DC.
This was the first mega concert in USSR due of the "perestroika", althought the soldiers were wnjoying the show... The people there knew them because the records were smuggled into USSR or listened via clandestine radiostations... A little bit of history nevers get bad... Greetings and blessings from Venezuela!!!
Music is to be enjoyed by all. If you don’t know that much about a band it’s ok. That’s where we the commenters come in. You will learn a lot and get lots of suggestions. Not knowing these bands can actually be a good thing. That means you can discover for yourself with no preconceptions about the music. All music should be heard or seen with a totally open mind. What they did in the past does not mean that what they do now or in the future. GOOD LUCK on your new channel.
Hello, i heard you say that weeks after this concert the Berlin Wall came down. When in reality the Berlin Wall came down in the late 1980s. This concert(s) was when The Soviet/Russian people experienced such a huge Monsters of Rock like concert & Heavy Metal/Rock Band from the West! I think The Scorpions & KISS played Moscow too, i don't know who was first.
You should react to Metallica "Creeping Death" from the same concert. It is much more loved song among people that listen to Metallica than "Enter Sandman", you can say that it is one of the greatest metal anathemas. And to few songs of Judas Priest. This band have crazy span of falvours in their records. From rock ballads like "The last rose of summer" through pop-metal like "Turbo lover" and (great) songs from "Ram it down" (like title track) to super hard stuff like "Painkiller" and "Cathedral Spires".
Absolutely true!! However- there is no equal to the power of live ROCK!! Next time watch the Super Bowl with Beyoncé or the weekend or what ever and then……. These types of bands like Metallica, Van Halen , etc were meant for and created the stadium tour! Those previously mentioned- nope😎

4:58 People who start punching people in mosh pits get wrecked. I've witnessed this a few times. Moshing is not everyone punching eachother. You start doing that garbage you get your A** beat. Great video btw.
@@OhMyMole Oh yes absolutely I bet it gets wild but it still stands that they should get attacked and punished accordingly. I know there are a few different types of moshing and some of them a lot of kind of accidental punches/hits happen often. That's acceptable. Actual fighting isn't. Like I said I've seen some violence but usually doesn't end well for the perpetrator. lol. I will say that the pits in Argentina are probably more brutal than American pits most of the time for sure.
That intro gave me the same feels of: Jordan: "Good evening ladies and gentlemen, my name is Jordan" Lee: "I'm Lee" Benny: "And-" Jordan and Lee: "And we are the Axis of Awesome" Benny: "And I'm Benny"
Actual Jason was the 3rd bass player for Metallica even though Ron was not in the recordings he was the first Bass Player replaced by Cliff up until Cliff's passing then Jason until Jason left and the Rob came into the Picture. But I have been following this band since 1985ish and loved most of what they have done and brought to the secen over the years
May I suggest Arch Enemy, No more Regrets. Female singer. Intro is the two guitarists playing simultaneous two handed triplet runs at 240 b.p.m. on a pair of baritone guitars. Wow.
This happened in late September 1991. The Berlin Wall came down on November 9, 1989. That was the event that made this concert possible, however, as the falling of the Wall signified the beginning of the end for the U.S.S.R. over the eastern portion of the continent through the Warsaw Pact. This concert was thrown by Russian President Boris Yeltsin and co. as a thank you to the people that supported him as President of Russia removing Russia from the Soviet Union.
Hello friend! Thank you very much for the information. I was wrong in the video. I was referring to the dissolution of the USSR, not the fall of the wall 🥲 Thanks for the correction. Greetings from Argentina!
Metallica's albums prior to this album dubbed the "The Black Album" were albums that put Metallica on USA's map. The Black Album is when Metallica introduced itself to the WORLD.
Metallica are an amazing band, but what you need to remember is this.... They were not even the headline band for this concert ACDC were, so imagine how mad the crowd was by the time ACDC took to the stage !!!!
You should get her to watch bleed by meshugga , I think it would be interesting to see if she can get into it . Then after that introduce her to some of the first real brutal and fast death metal bands from Florida itself , some would say that's where death metal was born , I really recommend listening to a band called deicide , start with the legion album , back in the very early 90s when people heard that album for the first time , it blew their minds and also changed the landscape for the sound of death metal going forward , it's one of the most brutal and violent sounding albums in death metal history , as a musician the technicality if the music is just amazing , the drummer 'steve ashiem' wrote at least 50% of the songs on that album ,and even moreso in the future albums 👍
I can say briefly. the concert was held in Moscow (free of charge), and at that time, strangely enough, the government was overthrown in Moscow, the USSR was falling apart. most likely it was specially organized in order to divert the most violent to a separate place. Since everything happened with little blood, which is surprising. Metallica itself has archival video data, where they are surprised at what is happening on the streets of Moscow.
Hello Toby! Thank you very much for the comment. I was wrong in the video. I was referring to the dissolution of the USSR, not the fall of the wall 🥲 Thanks for the correction. Greetings from Argentina!
When the "Black album" came out I rejected it, and had to be talked into giving it another chance. However, Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning, And Justice for All, etc were instant winners for me.
Hello Friend! Thank you for leaving us your opinion about the different Metallica albums. The Black Album was highly questioned by fans. Greetings from Argentina! 🤘
1.3, 1.4 million people, there in Moscow? Something like that. Maybe it was 1.6M? [Oh, right, y'all said so.] Rod Stewart has the record for biggest concert, 3.3 million I believe, on the beach at Rio de Janeiro, for the New Years Eve turn of the Millennium. It was free, which explains the crowd size. And they had giant Jumbotrons set up every so often, up and down the beaches, so everybody could see what was happening on stage. Millions. I believe the Scorpions concert on the Berlin Wall also had a crowd size in the seven figures. There aren't that many of such scale.
@@OhMyMole as a England native, I love Argentina. There are two of your countrymen who are heros to me. And one is basically god. Sergio kun aguero and Pablo zabaleta. They are my guys. Moshing is a semi-violent dance metalheads use to expend energy. You're not really trying to hurt anyone, but, people do get hurt. in fact, you can get into some serious shit if the crowd sees you intentionally trying to injure people. Most of the time, they get you in ways that look accidental. An "accidental" elbow to the eye, headbutt to the nose, or just a clean punch to the jaw as they pass you by. Other times, people don't hide it, they just straight up mud-stomp your ass for disrespecting the pit. It's there for you to have fun, not be an asshole.
Please Please Please dont pause or speak through Dimebags solo or the breakdown in Domination from this same concert its a cardinal sin among metal fans

Over 1.6 million people were at that show. The other performers at that show were (in order of appearance) Pantera, E.S.T(local Russian band), The Black Crows, Metallica and AC/DC.
Hello Harry! Thanks a lot for this information about the show🚁🚁. Greetings! 🤘🤘🤘
@@OhMyMole No worries. Cheers from a metalhead in New Zealand!
This was the first mega concert in USSR due of the "perestroika", althought the soldiers were wnjoying the show... The people there knew them because the records were smuggled into USSR or listened via clandestine radiostations... A little bit of history nevers get bad...
Greetings and blessings from Venezuela!!!
Hello Edwin! Muchas gracias por tu comentario! Los soldados estaban también disfrutando del show jaja. Un abrazo grande! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thanks for your comment Peter! It makes us feel really comfortable. Sends you a big hug from Argenitna 🥰🥰
Metal Gods? Oh yeah.
*YOU BET YOUR ASS, THEY ARE!* 🤘😎🤘

Oh man i was 16 ! Great days! 🤘🏻
Hello Adenauer! Thanks for your comment. This was a great show!🤘🏼Greetings from Argentina!
Hello Kamil! Thanks for your comment! Yeeeah, we will react to Creeping Death soon 🤘🏼 Greetings from Argentina!
Music knows no boundaries of any kind. Music brings us together.

Hello Christian! Thanks for your comment. Yes I failed with the comment of Berlin Wall. I was talking about the URSS dissolution. Sorry! 🙏🏻Greetings from Argentina!🤘🏼
Rumor has it that people are still exiting this concert.
Hello DDinfan T! Thanks for your comment. Haha😂 Awesome show 🚁 Greetings from Argentina!🤘
No the Berlin Wall fell in 89 of Nov 9th. This concert was in of course Moscow, of 91.

Hello Konstantinos Arvanitidis! (I hope I wrote it right haha😂) Thank you for your very affectionate comment. Matias Almeyda played and was coach of River Plate 🤘(The Club Oliver is a fan of)! Hey have you two heard of a band out of Ukraine called Jinjer? Check them out if you haven't yet, especially Tatiana's one-take vocals for their song "judgement and punishment". They are amazingly talented, you will like them!!!
4:58 People who start punching people in mosh pits get wrecked. I've witnessed this a few times. Moshing is not everyone punching eachother. You start doing that garbage you get your A** beat. Great video btw.
Hello Kreengle! Thanks for your comment! Here in Argentina the mosh pits are dangerous. Not just body crashes. Kicks and punches too haha 😂 Greetings!
Perfect reaction to heavy metal, wanting to punch someone! Lol... great reaction!
Hello Charlie! Thanks for your comment! Greetings from Argentina 🤘🏼🤘🏼
The Berlin wall came down in 1989. This was the first major exposure of western music and culture to the former Soviet Union
Hello Baronstone. Really sorry about the mistakes. I(Oliver) was wrong. Greetings from Argentina 🤘🏼
That intro gave me the same feels of:
Jordan: "Good evening ladies and gentlemen, my name is Jordan"
Lee: "I'm Lee"
Benny: "And-"
Jordan and Lee: "And we are the Axis of Awesome"
Benny: "And I'm Benny"

Hello Peter! Thanks a lot for your comment and for share your opinion with us. Greetings from Argentina 🤘🏼😊
I actually attribute it to the video "one" was when they really broke out. The black album just pushed them mainstream.
Welcome to Metallica , True story, I have hearing loss from the front row concerts in the 80's - my ear still ring from master of puppets
Hello friend! Thanks for your comment! Metallica is an amazing band 🤘🏼✨ Greetings from Argentina!
Metallica are an amazing band, but what you need to remember is this.... They were not even the headline band for this concert ACDC were, so imagine how mad the crowd was by the time ACDC took to the stage !!!!
Hello friend! Thanks for your comment. We will react to ACDC soon! 🤘🤘 Greetings from Argentina!
You should get her to watch bleed by meshugga , I think it would be interesting to see if she can get into it .
Then after that introduce her to some of the first real brutal and fast death metal bands from Florida itself , some would say that's where death metal was born ,
I really recommend listening to a band called deicide , start with the legion album , back in the very early 90s when people heard that album for the first time , it blew their minds and also changed the landscape for the sound of death metal going forward , it's one of the most brutal and violent sounding albums in death metal history , as a musician the technicality if the music is just amazing , the drummer 'steve ashiem' wrote at least 50% of the songs on that album ,and even moreso in the future albums 👍
Cool! We will add it to our list to react. Take Care!
Well done guys!

Hello J S! Thanks for your opinion! Metallica is an amazing band! 🤘🤘🤘 Greetings from Argentina!
Came here to say that the guy with the kiss shirt had the great idea
I can say briefly. the concert was held in Moscow (free of charge), and at that time, strangely enough, the government was overthrown in Moscow, the USSR was falling apart. most likely it was specially organized in order to divert the most violent to a separate place. Since everything happened with little blood, which is surprising. Metallica itself has archival video data, where they are surprised at what is happening on the streets of Moscow.
Hello friend! Thanks for this information!! It is important to know the context of this show. Greetings from Argentina 🤘🏼

1.3, 1.4 million people, there in Moscow? Something like that. Maybe it was 1.6M? [Oh, right, y'all said so.]
Rod Stewart has the record for biggest concert, 3.3 million I believe, on the beach at Rio de Janeiro, for the New Years Eve turn of the Millennium.
Hello Will ! Thanks a lot for this information! Greetings from Argentina 🤘🏼
