Headbanger's Kitchen ....Your recipes are awesome!...If one was to double or triple the recipe (I have a big coffee mug 😀)...would I add more time to the cooking time? Also, if I cook it in a shallow bowl, I could make big buns for burgers...or does it work best in a cylindrical shaped object?....By the way, I have made your almond flour mug bread many times...it it is great!....Keep up the great work and keep on rockin'.

I used this recipe to make mini pizza and it was so good! Once the bread was done I sliced it into 5 rounds and put sugar free pizza sauce, cheese, spices and pepperoni on it. Under the broiler for a few minutes and it was delicious! I put a small amt of garlic powder in the mix to mask the coconut flavour and it was perfect.

Your recipes are a life saver. I make this bread a lot. Instead of mug if u spread it on a plate u get kind of peta bread which is awesome for pizza base or a roll or swarma whatever u are in a mood for...
    Thanks for this

After you've cooked the bread in the microwave and sliced it, put the slices into a toaster, and they end up becoming crispy like regular toasted bread! Alternatively you can make grilled sandwiches by toasting your sandwiches in a frying pan.
Finally my cravings for bread have been answered with this recipe! I can now enjoy eating burgers and sandwiches without having to skimp on the bread that I was doing before!

I put my mixture in a small casserole dish (about 6 - 7" across) to see if I could make a hamburger bun, and it worked pretty well. It came out to about 3/4 - 1" thick, and I was able to slice it into two pieces. Then I toasted it to add some stiffness and crunch. 👍

    Baking instructions:
In case anyone out there don’t have a microwave or prefer to not use a microwave I made a 6 biscuit/muffin batch. I mixed up/made up each one in a separate container poured it into each of greased muffin tins. I just wanted to make sure each had the perfect ratio of ingredients and muffin batter.

High Altitude instructions -I live at 6,000 feet elevation in an extremely dry climate. All ingredients are very dry and boiling point of water here is 203 F. I had to add a couple of tablespoons of almond milk as the dough was so dry. And due to high elevation, I nuked it nearly 3 minutes. It came out perfect! I buttered slices, added veggies and cheese and had myself a very wonderful sandwich. This solves the problem of needing sustenance quickly and avoiding grabbing something quick that is high in carbs. Thank you! This recipe makes keto so much easier.

Thank you for this! It makes perfect sense when you mentioned that coconut flour absorbs more moisture than almond flour bc I just made this and found that out. I tried to make this bread using the same amount of ingredients that the almond flour bread calls for and yea.... my bread came out all crumbly. But thanks to this video I will not be making that mistake again.

Made this recipe this morning for breakfast for the first time right before I left to go to work. Didn’t taste it until I got work and it was absolutely delicious and has a great texture. I was so pleased! The only thing I did different was add a drizzle of Lakanto monk fruit maple syrup in the batter for a hint of sweetness, and I didn’t have olive oil so I used ghee. Perfect!

I tried your Coconut Mug Bread recipe. I used Coconut Oil instead of Olive Oil. Only cooked it 1 minute and the bread came out really dry. Loved the flavor though. Spread some butter on the slices and made a Pepperoni and Mozzarella Sammie. Butter helped the dryness. It would be a great 'cornbread' substitute due to the dryness. I will be experimenting more. Thanks for the recipe!

Did you add the heavy whipping cream? That should keep it fairly moist. Maybe try 10 seconds less next time :) see if it works and makes it more moist.

    • @belindabakertheembelishedc4787
      @belindabakertheembelishedc4787 7 лет назад

Yes I used heavy whipping cream. I think I may add a ml or two more cream or 1/2 TBSP of coconut oil. I haven't tried it again ... yet. I am not a really big bread eater, but it is nice to have a sammie every once in a while. Again, thanks for the recipe.

I am a beginner at keto, and I can say that definitely try this mug bread first before embarking on making a keto loaf bread. The texture and look of this mug bread is similar to a whole wheat bread. Its even better when its toasted! It doesnt have that "eggy" taste. I tasted a normal whole wheat bread and this bread simultaenously, and while the wheat bread has a very yeasty flavour, this mug bread has a coconuty flavour. So, I would say this mug bread doesn't taste like bread, but the look, texture, and "feel" in your mouth is like that of a whole wheat bread. I added some cinnamon powder and truvia into mine, so mine kinda tasted like a cake than a bread, but it was equally delicious, and when toasted, the sweet taste lessened.

Thanks you so much for this delicious recipe, I have been missing bread so much this week and realy wanting a grilled cheese sandwiche. Right after watching this video I went straight to my kitchen and whipped this up, an made two of the cutest little grilled cheeses, so so good they have a really great texture like a good corn bread. Thank you thank you thank you.

Love this version as my daughter is allergic to nuts and most keto recipes use almond. Please incorporate more of this. Following you now hope you continue doing more things with coconut flour

I have to do mine in a small casserole type dish, because in the mug, even after 2 1/2 mins, it was like a molten core of batter. So this gave me the idea of spreading the batter out on a plate (I haven't tried it out yet) but thought if I spread it out on a plate or piece of parchment, it could stand in for pizza crust, since cauli-crust can be a bit of a production.
What I have done, because this bread reminded me of cornbread, is to add some or all: parmesan cheese, small diced jalapeno, and small pieces of cooked bacon. Small amounts, in the teaspoon - tablespoon range, as desired.
Thanks HB, this is turning out to be a good, flexible base batter!

I made this today after I had failed at making anything resembling a dosa with coconut flour. However, the bread turned out great. Need to buy almond flour and try your dosa receipe again.
