Good morning Mandy and Lee! All of your videos are so enjoyable but i have to say that your Thailand series is my favorite so far... especially Mandy's passion for Thai food! 😊 I always thought pad thai 🤢 was some sort of Americanized Thai dish. I hope you're both safe and healthy! Take care!🐕

Hello MyDogSmells! Yes, I think this series has definitely shown just how much I love the food in Thailand... it's all just so blimmin' delicious, and the prices are so affordable! 🏆💯😋
I'm really happy to hear such positive feedback as I think Lee was a bit worried that I'd made too many Thai food vlogs... but I really feel it was worth it! Have a wonderful week, and thank you for your lovely comment 🙏🤗 ~ Mandy

Believe it or not, most Thais don't eat Pad Thai that much. They often eat Pad Kaprao, stir-fire pork/chicken with holy basil leafs and red chilies. Pad Kaprao usually comes with a fried egg with liquid yolk. 7-11 sells Pad Kaprao with no egg. Pad Kaprao is so popular with most Thais that it is regarded as a "thoughtless dish" in a positive way. When you can't decide a quick meal to order, you would not go wrong to order Pad Kaprao without even thinking. It is a wholesome, satisfying, comfort meal for practically all Thais.
In September 2023, TasteAtlas lists Pad Kaprao the world's best stir-fire dish with the score of 4.8.

What you put in pad thai is vinegar and chili fish sauce. You don't have to use it every time, but you should squeeze the lemon every time.

Mandy and Lee, Happy belated Anniversary! Mandy tried to light up the boring pad thai with load of spices. 😂 It is amazing how reasonable the food cost in Thailand, I would eat 4-5 times per day. $10 per day per person including the accommodation, that’s incredible. If I visit Thailand I will go to the food stalls that Mandy and Lee mentioned. This is a great and fun video about Thai food! Thank you for including the ingredients of the food. I am looking forward to the next video!

You’re right! Thai people don’t often eat Pad Thai, as we have many choices for selection.

    Hi Mandy & Lee,
The Thailand series really was about food, are you poaching on Mark Wiens territory? 😁
Up utill today I thought Jackfruit was the nickname of Durian (meaning the same fruit). It's when Mandy mentioned the price of the Jackfruit that it hit me.
We learn something new everyday 👍
Another thing I've learned from the video was the "don't use the left hand & fork.." in Thailand.
As a tourist I assume they wouldn't be offended if we make a mistake, or would they?
Hope U're doing OK, enjoy your weekend 🙋🏻‍♂️

    • @FrugalTravellers

      Hello SERGIO 👋
I'll let you in on the behind the scenes story....
We'd filmed so much in the UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain that when we arrived in Thailand, Lee just wanted a holiday. I said that I wasn't interested in sightseeing, and that all I wanted to do was spend the 3 weeks eating, and I'd film myself... but Lee soon became involved as he also loves Thailand and knew it would be great to share the sheer awesomeness of it with you all 🤗😁
It's so lovely to hear that you've learnt something from this video and now know what jackfruit looks like. My mission is complete 💯
Re: "the left hand & fork in the mouth"... such a great phrase, by the way... I'm guessing it would be the same instinctive reaction if I saw someone eating peas off their knife. With the left hand, that's used with water in the loo, as in many other countries, so I can understand why they'd be a bit shocked to see someone eat with it... and both Lee & I are lefties so have to remind ourselves all the time 🤣
Thank you so much for your comment, SERGIO, it was excellent as always, and we wish you all the best!
Until next time, take care and enjoy life 🤗🙏 ~ Mandy

I really enjoy watching you two having so many delicious Thai foods especially the Thai desserts. It brought back lots of memories since I was a child living in Hua Hin with my parents. One dish on your video which was the Suki Hang that you seemed to struggle with. The orange sauce given to you should be mixed in on the dish thoroughly prior to consumption. The word "Hang" means dried in Thai and Suki Nam will have some soup in the dish. It's an fairly common Thai dish that most Thais are familiar with. Bon appetit!
