It is not going to be close, as the Tesla Model X Plaid is in another league with acceleration. But as with the Cayenne and Urus, it doesn't matter one bit. Those crossover/SUVs are ideal choices for Porsche/Lamborghini loyalists. And like the Taycan, they are not really competing against Tesla. They are competing against the other German and Italian automakers who focus on having top materials and superior build quality, combined with great engineering. They are designed to have their existing, loyal fans, move up to their latest, improved models. I still want to see them all race! Keep up the good work!😎

Porsche hit a bullseye with this one. As much performance as you can possibly need or use on the street, with a very luxurious interior and solid build quality.

@PapiAndrey When you drive 600hp on the street everyday day, it begins to not feel as f, st especially when you lose to 800hp+ vehicles. It's not delusion at all that's just how driving fast cars goes. You get used to it and want more 🙂

The Cayenne is NOT an SUV ;it is a hatchback Crossover. The "U" in SUV is for "utility" which means "work" vehicle.
The only "work" you can do with a Porsche Cayenne is deliver Chinese food.

Higher top speed than the Mondeo X Plaid, brakes way better, handles better and doesn't fall apart. Easily the best Suv right now.
Not the best price or bang for your buck. Service and maintenance on the Porsche will cost astronomical prices.
This car costs 230k you can literally buy two model x plaids. I get this thing would be better on a road course but you can buy carbon brakes and lighter wheels for the plaid and still have 100k left over. The plaid is faster to 60 and 1/4 mile. That's not even getting into the maintenance difference in both. Much different vehicles though. I really do love this Porsche but its a 1/4 million bucks so it should be good

What is more actually if you unlocked top speed on both this Cayenne and Model X Tesla would go way faster, at least 215mph (Model S did that easily and they have identical drive train) and even for brakes, Cayenne is maby better than the standard Model X (assuming both have the same tire) but if Tesla adds track pack to the X like they've talked, it will also outbrake the Porsche (just like Model S does the Chiron), only thing which Cayenne can do is "outbreak" the Tesla

Haven’t run mine in super hot weather, but in 60s temp with warm tires, and sport performance button turned on with launch control, I’m consistently 3.0-3.1 on my gear.

Long distance the Petroleum Engineer beats EV Plaid. Plaid will have to charge and Horsepower is for Starting out mainly. So it will be quicker. Until the Porsche gets to 200 mph or 180 depending on Government speed locks.

Great review and SUV! I just wish you could have a tow hitch on it like the RSQ8 so you can at least put a bicycle rack on the back for some small measure of utility, lol. Maybe, I will pick up a 2024 in 2026, get the CPO, avoid the 1st/2nd year depreciation, and save some money! Btw, your friend in TX was testing in 57F temps, huge difference. I think your numbers were accurate for a hot day with humidity and would have slowed down more as the heat soak increased. To know this car, bone stock, has the potential to run a flat 11 second 1320 is amazing!

It took 10 mins before this suv was driven and then it didn’t show the suv on the road but the face of the driver talking. This just shows the lack of cameras to really show this suvs capability on the road. Beautiful suv but the review lacks the video needed to showcase this suv on the road

I'm actually not surprised that it's dead even with the urus performante. Actually, that's exactly how it's supposed to be: it's the same car! Same platform/chassis, same engine, same transmission. Although the urus is marketed as 666hp, it's purely for marketing reasons. They're the same car, with different body panels and interior.
Same platform is shared by many VAG group suv's: audi q7 and q8 (and all sporty versions such as rsq8), vw touareg, porsche cayenne, bentley bentayga and skoda karoq. All models share a lot of engines.
All of these models are made in the same assembly line in vw's plant, in bratislava (slovakia).
Same is for audi s3 and golf r, lamborghini huracan and audi r8, and the list go on.
Definetely not the same, they have different wheelbase lenght, different air suspensions chambers, and chassis tuning.
Normaly people want SUV for family travel etc not for race... I think this car is very good for that...

Even as a Porsche fan, I've never really liked the Cayenne. Was always shaped too much like an egg. Too rounded, just felt like it didn't have any true design direction to it. The Turbo GT is the first Cayenne I actually like. It looks aggressive, without being over the top. Looks quick, but not in your face. It gets a thumbs up from me, but then, guess that doesn't matter as I'd never drop 200k on an SUV anyway. lol But still fun to watch how they can hustle despite all that mass. From what I've seen, the Turbo GT is actually close to 700 hp at the crank, understated as most of the super SUV's are these days.
Big Porsche fan but I would never buy a cayenne.. I’d get a BMW X5, much better value for the money. Then with the money you save, put it towards a Porsche 911.
