Fabulous! I’ve seen Alvaro’s paintings and loved them, but after seeing the artist teach, entertain, complain(all in good humor), cajole(come on, clap), I want to applaud. A true master. 🌶🌶👏👏👏❤️❤️

I would tell the promoter holding the convention that Alvaro can run over as much as he likes. He’s the greatest watercolor painter in the world. Rushing Alvaro is like telling the Rolling Stones that they played too long. 😳😎
Thank u for the demo & if I was in the crowd, I would ask about ur philosophy instead of paint brand & paper, things we can google. People really dont seem to fully appreciate the opportunity they have in these moments.

Fascinating to listen to the thought process as he constructs the key elements of the painting, the focus, the light, cool vs warm - love it.

Always fun to watch Alvaro paint, had the pleasure of spending a few days painting with him in Dedham England on a painting holiday a few years back, and got to buy one of his few green paintings (he joked about not liking green 😉) but I loved it.

I might be wrong but I think it’s a new green D Smith sent him. He told us during his Amsterdam workshop shortly after this 😉

Firstly, I have realised, how many times I have abandoned my paintings because, to me, it seemed like a disaster just like the first half of this one. It seemed, someone handed the brush to my kid. And then magic happened.
