@@silasmcgee3647not canonically y'know, we don't have a confirmation for what happens after neutral, also there are various neutral runs, you could kill undyne and then toriel would take the throne, and there's a way to get papyrus to the throne, it depends, you can also literally do full genocide but spare on monster and it's still considered neutral.
also the history is: Frisk did a neutral run and got all the souls that the monster had and frisk got out of underground with the souls and the barrier wasn't broken, it broke all the monster dreams, toriel claimed the throne but since toriel was kind with the humanity meaning she wouldn't destroy humanity, undyne took the throne by force and started the preparations for the great war, but she overused the energy of the core and it broke the core, withouth magic being created monster only had the magic of their souls, making a sensation of hungry, but they wouldn't die by starvation (this is why the main characters survived all those years), alphys in some point said that sans' eyes could work in the core and generate magic, note that sans was trying to make everyone happy even in those situations, one day sans visited undyne with the projects of the core (sans got crazy after knowing that they probably wanted his eye and start to seach a way to fix the core with all his forces) in the visit undyne had a mental break down and with a good fight of sans vs undyne and guards sans got defeated, note that undyne wasn't happy at all she even was planing to say for the underground that died like a hero, but since sans' eyes wasn't destroyd he come back to like (this doesn't means he is imortal) and because of the pain and the experince of death he become insane and attacked a rando quard and taking his eye (it's the red eye of sans), when he got into the core he destroyed the core and put lemons in alphy's head , and he give the idea of eating human in snowdin for they don't feel so hungry (this was for their own good sans isn't really insane). basically the steriotype of horrortale is completely wrong.
