One of the worst reviews I've ever watched. You gotta stop.
Are you being sarcastic? lol.
If not, what do you dislike about it?
change nothing
Wow. Fuck you if you dont like this flick. Thumbs down
That Cindy character really frustrated me all movie. She really comes off as someone that trying to blame someone else for her shitty life decisions and mistakes. At least the husband owns it, stays true to himself, and never allows bitterness to take over. Spent his whole life raising and loving someone else's child like it was his own, and she goes on flirting with the man that abandoned her and beat her husband up in a supermarket. She ended up turning into her father.
It has a good message regarding not becoming a step father.
I liked it in the sense that it was somewhat realistic? Love at first sight never ends well because you fall in love with who you assume they are and not who they actually are. Though it’s basically shit it gives the message that just because you “feel” like you know someone doesn’t mean you actually do. He fell in love with who he thought she was and over time he didn’t like it. Whereas she fell in love with who he actually was and you can see that struggle throughout the film. He doesn’t like who she is and she’s fighting to be that girl but she can’t.
Still shit all around though.
realistic???? wtf
Lucas Kazama yes that is what I said. Do I need to repeat it?
@@piepiepapaya yes repeat
Okay yeah its edge but that doesn't make it bad. Your only criticism of it more or less is that it is in fact edge. I get ya'll had to condense it into a 5 minute review but you ain't got anything else on it besides that it's edge. And okay you compare it to Us and Them but that just makes it seem like you went into this movie expecting it to hit the exact same emotional beats as Us and Them, and when it didn't deliver on that and was its own miserable lil fucking movie, instead of getting involved in this pretty miserable, quiet, intricate story you just cast it aside and immediately labelled it edgy.
Just cause it's crushing and more intense and less apologetic about it doesn't mean that it sucks man, that's like saying Funny Games by Haneke sucks ass just cause it's too over the top in its violence.
This is also my first comment on youtube I think I might have damned myself to live with my parents for the rest of my life.
I liked it because I thought it was a realistic portrayal of love not really existing but wanting it to because the other person makes you happy and that how happiness alone is not love or marriage. Love and marriage is dedication. It shows how "happiness" fades and that once happiness you felt with that person can be the same person to lose almost all sanity. Now watching this video I can see the points you're making. It's definitely not my favorite film. Right now I have it on my list 37 out of 45 but I still think it's quite a lot better (in terms of performances and message) than just a happy go lucky lovey dovey film. "Us and Them" is on my Netflix watchlist right now and just from what people have said I think will be higher, but that still doesn't take away from this movie I think. And also to say that this movie is so edgy it has "no happiness" is misleading. They were happy in the beginning even if it wasn't for the right reasons or the right person. Also to say that it was "just" love at first sight is a bit misleading too. It's not like Romeo and Juliet where they saw each other and just got married. It developed over time even though it started at general attraction which is how many relationships start btw.
Also saying "sounds familiar" when comparing the two films is a little misleading as if you're saying Blue Valentine imitated the storytelling format of Us and Them even though Blue Valentine was made years before Us and Them. And so I think although I see your points, in my opinion, your points don't match up with your opinion. I think the points you made don't warrant hating the movie. It sounds more like you generally didn't like it that much but at least appreciated the storytelling format which is similar to Us and Them presumably. And also last thing, you're whole comparison of lines between from Us and Them and Blue Valentine is so kinda BS in my opinion for many reason. You can't just compare any line from one movie and then another line from another and then say "See look this movie is better". Like what? You could have picked the best line from Us and Them and the worst from BV. Also just because one line has drama and beauty to it doesn't make it better. A line like the one you showed when in the motel was a really tender moment in my opinion and how ACTUAL conversations happen and how actual people speak. Just because it wasn't as eloquent as the other doesn't make it worse. It's about emotion at the end of the day and I think you're overlooking that in search for something more "dramatic".
This is a pathetic review from someone clearly did not understand Blue Valentine. Some relationships work some don't that is life. Who even knows Us and Them btw
an - idiot - that - reviews - movies... understood?
I'm literally cutting myself on the edge lol
Hey!! From NewTubers on reddit!!
I don't watch movies like that but your commentary kept me interested. It was hilarious and of course...edgy ahaha. a fuck this out of 10!! I lost it right there!! I must say, this was a really well done video. For the intro, I'd make it a little longer, add some more personality in the first 10s before diving into your review.
The outro...wtf was that lol I thought your video was over and my computer did some weird auto play thing. IDK about what to film for the outro, but I think a cool idea would be if you were to have a list of things you consistently review: Cinematography, story, edgy factor, overall review.
Hope this helps, keep creating!!
If you're gonna do nothing but complain for 5 minutes straight at least be funny or entertaining
Not complaining, saying why the movie is bad.
Why do you think the movie is good?
I really didn't like the movie but instead of giving it actual critique and talking about it you just went on and called it all edgy for everything and brought up another film, I don't consider that good reviewing and as I've said, if you're gonna do a lazy review at least be entertaining.
TheEtherny I gotcha.
Frankly one of my best of the last 20 years.

This movie was pretty bad.
OMG this movie fucking traumatized me!
(coming from r/newtubers)
Long story short, great review, just pointed out the point which the movie was trynna make👌🏼
I felt sad but yea I was giving the guy more right unconsciously, but after watching this,I see the guy's flaws as well!
NoooooOoooO! how could you dislike such a classic!
lol. Are you joking or being serious?
If you're serious, why do you like it?
Alot of people seem to like it alot but I watched it twice and I just don't see what other people seem to see in it lol.
@@anidiotthatreviewsmovies6242 because this movie is a so trufuckin'ly love story. If u didnt live like special relationship, you cant feel this movie's meaning. That feels as same as Toni Erdmann because it s so true movie too.
you have to have to go through something like this to truly appreciate what it is. it’s a beautifully acted piece. it’s hard to watch, sometimes. i hope you never have to go through such a human loss.
@@anidiotthatreviewsmovies6242 cuz you're just an idiot that reviews movies lol
“I don’t get paid enough for this shit.” Lmaooo
Finally someone who feels the same way about the movie as I do. I was looking on letterboxd and everyone there was just gushing over it but they're a bunch of depressed hipsters anyway so who cares.
I watched this with my girl friend because we are on quarantine and it was depressing. But I do like for what this film stands for, and I do know it has deeper meaning, I just don’t know it because I’ve never gone through divorce or been in a depressing relationship. I’m curious and want to learn the depth of this film.
4:36 Bro you missed the whole deep point of that scene.... When a man grows content, a woman begins to resent! This film is terrific!!!
I watched this movie in the theatre when it came out and I do not remember the plot whatsoever, all I remember is how fucking depressed it made me. This isn't just a drama with some emotional sad scenes, but it's deeply depressing and sucks the joy right out of you. In such a way that every time I see any reference to this movie I think 'goddamit that was depressing'. So... if that was what they were going for: kudos!
it would have any meaning if it showed what happened after.
This movie is pure garbage, no meaning at all.
This is exactly how i would describe what i felt too right after watching it omg i feel like shit it hurts lmao
hey man i came from reddit, saw your post and i liked this vid man!
people who disliked this video, will say the movie is good because have "some" reality to real life, but they cry if this video tells some real words about the movie.
what a bunch of delusional people that want to find meaning in everything, even in garbage.
MFW the guy complaining about the edge in a movie unironically makes an even edgier review video
edgy is realistic?
Blue Valentine looks quite interesting, based on this review. Us and Them not so much.
No1 even knows Us and Them. What is it!!!
Can one explain to me from where the things starts getting wrong between ryan and her wife...
Things started to go worse when they grow up she had job and wanted her husband move and grow up ( be a adult ) and also be like he was when he was before they married ....and she just wanted him to change she was not happy with him as she was before if u see it's a nobody's fault case she wanted him to change and he didn't know that and neither did she tried to tell him
Things start going wrong when she sees her ex boyfriend at the store. Her ex boyfriend is her baby daddy and she never told ryan that his “daughter” isnt his. Seeing her ex reminded her that her whole life is a lie and she cracks under the pressure. She copes with her selfish and shitty behaviors by treating ryan like trash and then divorcing him.
This thumbnail is good tier
0:32 You should watch a Dogs Purpose 😂😂😂
This was such an uplifting video
I would rather hang myself then watch that movie lol.
*When you littraly don't get paid on youtube*
real life is edgy man. also, ass review.
@@anidiotthatreviewsmovies6242 You realise the theme of this film right? It's exploring the often tragic nature of relationships, do you think it's going to be mostly sunshine and rainbows? What kind of world do you think we live in? Your example is also hugely trivialised, there's even an emphasis in this film about how the absence of parental figures as children influences their relationship. It's not hard to see how your parent's dying would reverberate throughout your life, sometimes without even being aware of just how much it affects you. The directors other film The Place Beyond the Pines has a huge emphasis on this theme. It's not often honest film making comes around, and the fact that someone that reviews film trivialises it in what seems like an attempt to come off as witty, is actually "edgy" in and of itself.
Jay I never said i wanted it to be mostly sunshine and rainbows, I don’t know where you are getting that from.
I’d prefer it if it was more like true detective with moments of drama/dark themes (like sometimes it’s better to never have been born) but also have humor like Hart telling Cohle that he is the “Micheal Jordan of being an asshole” lol.
@@anidiotthatreviewsmovies6242 True Detective is the best show ever made, but it's arguably all edge until the final scene of the final episode. Humour isn't the opposite of edge, at most it's a natural response to the dark discourse which Rust subjected Marty to. Blue Valentine is literally gleeful, sappy, and naively romantic for half of the film. The entire point of the movie is juxtaposing the happiness with a darker reality. To say that this film is all edge is just completely wrong in my opinion, otherwise they would've cut the early relationship scenes.
give me my 5 min pls
to funny
Thanks lol. Glad you enjoyed it.
your going to blow up man, your style is hilarious.
