Thank you for this information. I’m a 12 year Marginal Zone Lymphoma survivor & veteran of several chemotherapy & non-chemotherapy regimens (including CAR-T and a few clinical trials). I appreciate knowing there are new treatments in the pipeline that are not chemotherapy. It seems this will be the future for indolent Lymphoma patients.

12 years; that’s awesome. Have you changed your diet and lifestyle during this period of time? What steps have you taken?

@@dbrown4126 I began drinking a daily meal replacement smoothie after my cancer diagnosis. Loaded with fruit, some veggies, & protein powder. It is a formula from Ell Farm in West Chester, Ohio: Balanced Organic Blend, BOB. I wasn't eating a balanced diet so this was a great improvement. I also shifted away from beef & pork and cut back on sweets & alcohol. I think cancer patients have to help themselves through diet & exercise as well as choosing a wise treatment plan.

@@dbrown4126 Stage 4 when diagnosed 13 yrs ago. Chemo included CHOP and CVP & Rituxin. For several years my cancer was controlled by Chemo but always came back. At age 68, I did the CAR-T thinking I could obtain a cure. After 9 months the cancer came back. Since then, I have had good results with Imbruvica 560. Cancer is controlled with few side effects. I also get a monthly gammagard infusion.

Chemotherapy does not call the cancer stem cells - just the "daughter cells". So, it often comes back with a vengeance as the immune system is really harmed by chemotherapy. Causing "shrinkage" does not stop cancers from continuing to grow.
