Considering this is a first playthrough for you, you are doing so well on the hard difficulty :) I had to play this game on hard to get the platinum so I know how tough it was and I had played it many times before. I came to this playthrough late so it's a bit late to give any tips, but if you are planning another go, then the one piece of advice I would give is use the research camera at every opportunity, on everything, splicers, bots, cameras, turrets, little sisters, etc. Each enemy has three levels of research and you can take a picture of each individual enemy three times. The damage bonus you get alone is invaluable late game, but you get a lot of other useful things. As an example, researching the Houdini splicers gives you the tonic Natural Camouflage, which turns you invisible when standing still. Even security bots can't see you, so if you trigger an alarm, stand still until runs out. Pair it with Shorten Alarms 2, and security bots will never bother you again. Sorry if that's back seating, I love this game so much, it makes me want to share all my hard won knowledge in one big lump, lol

Love the play through so far mapo led me to you been watching his mass effect playthrough But to add to what you said about shock stunning turrets, the freeze plasmid also stuns electronics as well as slows the liquid when hacking

The Winter Blast plasmid is also my favorite way of dealing with the Leadhead splicers in late game, when they have ridiculous amounts of health. When paired with Wrench Jockey, freeze them and give them a couple of smacks. Sorts them right out.
