RIP Larry Hagman (September 21, 1931 - November 23, 2012), aged 81 And RIP Sir Michael Parkinson (March 28, 1935 - August 16, 2023), aged 88 You both will be remembered as legends.
Aaah, the Parkinson era. An era when I was so young that when I heard Mohammad Ali had got a desease called parkinsons-I thought that must be something you catch by going on the Michael Parkinson show.....
Love the smoking-to-touch-breast story. It has an even greater impact after hearing Emma Thompson telling the story of how she scared Stephen to death by coming bare-breasted towards Stephen jiggling them and saying "come on then" or something😂😂
The cigarettes part can't possibly be correct - 1,500,000 ciggies would mean smoking 37,500 of them (each year) for 40 years. That's 103 cigarettes every single day for 40 years.
Stephen made a point of owning his chair, by mocking Larry. He did the same thing on Parkinson with Robin Williams. Stephen is actually a bit of a bully.
Hagman looks lost sitting next to Stephen..lol Guess this was long before Chaz as born.. Oddly enough, my daughter also came and out as gay first, and was reborn as male after..In any case, we have some pretty awesome Sons! ❤
Possibly in a slightly manic phase? I'm a massive fan of Stephen, so that is not intended to be insulting to him, we all know he has the grunt and poke upstairs on any day.
Stephen without a doubt is such a very down to earth person along with his academic knowledge which I am listening to an dlearning along my way.
I watch these interviews over and over again. Parkinson was the very best interviewer and I could listen to Stephen Fry all day.
I could listen to him for years!
Stephen Fry's mastery of English makes his sublime wit even more so
I adore Steven Fry.

Nice post. Would have loved to see the Larry Hagman interview.
Stephen Fry: The stars* tennis balls. Great book
Would love to see a film of Vile Bodies. My second favourite Waugh book after Decline and Fall.
I would love to hear Larry hagman today.
He's no longer with us.
Cher introduced herself to Stephen as Cher, as if he needed the introduction.
Parky waa my favourite host.

Wanted to see Frey (and he was delightful) but also wanted more of the Cher interview (weird for me). She and Fry had an interesting rapport. Thx.
Sorry, I only taped Fry at the time ;)

Poor old Larry's all at sea here.
Andy Northall
I don’t think so. He’s old Hollywood he knows what to expect his mother was Mary Martin after all.
This is such an interesting interview. I'm left wondering if where can I watch the rest of the interview

Even Bowie stopped at three packs a day...
You are a muppet.
me thought larry passed on before 2017
Is there more of the Cher interview?
There will be somewhere, but I didn't tape it.
Is it me or is there something well dodge about young Larry?

Turn him on and watch him go.
He's on form here!! Talking about soaps and wearing a woman's hat

buy bad shirts that's my axiom from now on.
oh yeah by the way 911 was an inside job. hahaha. That is what amazes me with these people who are so intelligent that they can not see the obvious
Parky & dame edna everage
I really find Fry irritatingly complacent & self-satisfied.
Pointless watching then, no?
You're a minority.
He can come across as a bit of a smart arse, I agree. But it's always to the point?
Clearly he is waaay smarter than you since you are watching a show featuring a guy you don't like.
Hugo van der Meer huh...
